A Disney Dream Come True - Nov/Dec TR ~ Oct10 Another TR :)

Love the update. I can't wait to hear about the haircut. I cut hair too. (well used to in a Salon, but haven't since I had Claire). I used to cut my nephews hair and he just screamed and was horrid. He hated it so much and of course he has a ton of it and it grows so fast. My son used to be that way too, but he was just a big baby and once I started giving him buzz cuts he loved getting it done..and now at 21, he has to get it dona al lthe time to look good for the ladies. LOL!
Anyways, I stopped doing nephews. It just got to be too much. He was smaller then, but he was still a big boy for his age, and I have outgrown my patience. LOL! At 14 he still throws a fit, so SIL rarely has it done, and when it is done, it's always uneven. LOL!

Love your window decorations!! They look great!:thumbsup2

It looks like you had great interaction with the characters at Ohana's!! Such cute pictures! Aww...you gotta love Pluto! We haven't made it back to Ohana's since our first trip...something always happens.:sad2: Next trip it's on the top of the list.::yes::

I can't wait to hear how the barber shop goes.popcorn::

It was so fun decorating the windows, we really loaded them up

We had so many 'firsts' on this trip but it was nice starting off with an old favorite like Ohana. :goodvibes

I love your window decorations! They came out awesome! I was laughing when I was reading about you guys missing some 10am ADRs....our latest was 9:55 and that was our last morning, most of our others were around 8:00! Even on the 2 "sleep in" mornings I had planned, Olivia was up by 7:30!...I don't think she would last in your family!

We did Ohana for breakfast on our trip as well! It was pretty good (I can't give away all the details since I have a TR to write afterall!), but we were there quite a while too, and I was not too happy.

Can't wait to read more! I always get excited when I see you have updated!

Honestly, it was crazy that we couldn't make those late breakfasts! I set the Stitch wake up call each morning at 8:30am and without fail got grumbles and groans trying to get everyone to get moving.

You had delays there too? That's too bad. I wonder what was the difference this time? Last August when we went, the characters and the parade were timed perfectly. :confused3

When are you starting your TR? :hyper:

That's too bad your nephew hasn't gotten accustomed to haircuts. It took a LOT to get Ariana used to me doing it but now at 14 she thinks nothing of it. I do still have to remind her to not move and we also still have to hide all the scissors in the house so she doesn't cut her own hair -- I have pictures of her from a long time ago after she'd butchered her bangs to almost nothing! :faint:

Lol! I am hoping to start it SOON! I am actually pretty aggravated right now. I did all my edits and everything super fast for my Photopass and ordered with with express 1-2 day shipping on Monday and it still isn't here!!! I think it will be here tomorrow, but who knows :confused3 We had some great PP pics from the first day so I was waiting for those, but I might just do a quick start with intros and arrival stuff....maybe tonight!!

We had delays at Ohana both times we ate there (once for dinner, then the next morning for breakfast)! I had heard very mixed reviews for Ohana, but I wanted to try it for myself and decide.

I love your windows! We did ours too but you have a lot more stuff on yours. Wouldn't you know I took pictures of other peoples windows but none of ours:confused3. We are not morning people either and it seemed we were always rushing this last trip also. I made our adrs between 10:30 and 11:00 and the characters were so rushed. It looks like you had a great time at breakfast. I'm glad Demetri got to be in the parade. I can't wait to see what happens with Ariana's hair. We took River and he got a trim and they put pirate dust in his hair he loved it.

I'm here (just a little late..)! Enjoying your TR so far, can't wait to hear how similar or different our trips ended up being since our plans were so similar! Also, can't wait to hear about your Party Night and my upcoming Yeti ride cameo!:santa:

My Photopass CD is on it's way too - I'm really hoping it gets here this week and then I'll catch them up on my TR. :thumbsup2 I hope you get yours too!

Hey I'm back and checking in... I will go back and read from the start tomorrow!!!

Welcome back!! Can't wait to start reading yours too!!

Yeah, we really loaded them up  the kids did a great job with them. We've used them again on our living room windows too - not the DIS ones I made, just the other ones.

Very cool River got his hair done! Demetri got the chance for Pirate dust later in the trip too. :thumbsup2

great update! Looks like you had a blast at Ohana! I loved all the Simba pics!!!

I'm not sure we'll do Ohana on our next trip, there's so many we still haven't been to, but then again I know we'd regret it if we didn't.

Hellooooo and :welcome: !! Too funny how often we ran into each other!

Sunday, November 28th
Day 2 – MK Day & Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Day
Weather: high of 77 degrees, low of 53 degrees
What we wore: pants and t-shirts

Heading out from ‘Ohana to the Magic Kingdom was a thrill. Our first park visit! So many new things to see and do, I couldn’t wait to get started! :hyper: We turned the corner off the monorail ramp and right away, there’s a train heading out of the Main Street Station and the conductor is waving to everyone.

2010_1129Misc0056.jpg

We quickly got Ariana's GAC from Guest Services, stopped for Photopass pictures getting our very first card, and headed on in. Our first stop?

2010_1129Misc0059.jpg

Santa was minutes away from coming out to visit and the line was small. Perfect! We could take care of mailing our Santa letters right away, fill Santa in on what we’d like for Christmas and not have to worry the rest of the trip that we’d miss him!

While we were waiting, Santa himself came through the line saying quick hellos…..

2010_1129Misc0061.jpg

…. and Ariana and Demetri had time for a quick pin trade.

2010_1129Misc0064.jpg

St. Nicholas’ mailbox was right there so we took care of getting the letters sent off….

2010_1129Misc0065.jpg

…. and then it was our turn with Santa!

2010_1129Misc0069.jpg

2010_1129Misc0072.jpg

Mumbled thank you’s around our candy canes and we were off.

A quick picture with a few old friends….

2010_1129Misc0077.jpg

…. and it was finally time to turn the corner for our first look at the Castle.

2010_1129Misc0079.jpg

A few steps down Main Street and the Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it street party heads toward us. We quickly grab a curb spot and dance as it goes by. For whatever reason, this was my first time seeing this and it was a lot of fun. We were in a great spot and all the characters made a point of waving and saying hello to the kids as they went by.

More pin trading from this guy…..

2010_1129Misc0090.jpg

…. A few steps more and the Dream Along with Mickey show on the Castle stage started. We hadn’t even finished going down Main Street yet!

When the show finished, we turned around and head back up Main Street towards the Harmony Barbershop. Our plan entering the park had been to go straight to Fantasyland then hop the train to Demetri’s favorite ride Splash Mountain, but with the stops along the way, we decided to be a bit early to our appointment and then have the rest of the day for whatever we chose.

We window shopped a bit along the way….

The Emporium windows featuring scenes from Mickey’s Christmas Carol were very cool.

One last window featuring kitchen items you can get….

2010_1129Misc0134.jpg

…. and we’d reached the Harmony Barbershop. The shop does take walk ins when they have the time available but you are far better off making an appointment. They don’t make same day appointments though so keep that in mind if you ever want to go. There were people lined up out the door hoping to get in. We’d continued with the question to Ariana if she wanted to have “Princess hair” and she needed no convincing to walk into the shop and take a seat. Looking good! I explained when checking in that I didn’t know if Ariana would actually go through with it and if she didn’t, Demetri was our backup to get a blue gel hairdo. I was also hoping to have had another girl go before her as we waited so she could see what was going to happen but she didn’t need to. When it was her turn, she hopped right into the chair and let the CM do whatever she wanted!

They took about three inches off the bottom, trimmed her bangs to a bit of a side cut, put it up in a ponytail and sprinkled her with Mickey confetti. She loved it! I just kept saying how proud I was of her and made a big deal out of her beautiful princess hair. It was a dry cut and needs to be styled properly in a salon now, but she did it!

Leaving the Barbershop, we decided to head towards Adventureland to make our way towards Splash Mountain. Skipping the Magic Carpets of Aladdin for now, along the way we stopped and did the Jungle Cruise.

We had a great guide this time around and managed to make us laugh a LOT even with the same cheesy fun.

We finally had our first ride of the trip under our belts. :thumbsup2 How many more could we squeeze in before the party? What super important thing did we miss and what other super important thing did we miss too? Hope you continue along…. for now, here’s a sneak peak at my next update.

2010_1129Misc0218.jpg

Would you believe that in all the time we have spent at MK we have never seen the Move it Shake it Celebrate it parade either?! I think we have only seen the 3:00 parade once! :scared1: Doesn't it feel great to finally get that first ride of a trip in? After that ride I really feel like the trip has begun.
