Just took a DCL survey from my recent cruise and was asked if I would be interested in taking possible future cruise leaving from NY to Bermuda, NY to FL Bahamas and CC, NY to SC FL Bahamas CC, Galveston to FL Bahamas CC, Galveston to Grand Cayman Mexico CC. Thought this was interesting.

Did it say if this was an option when it would sail? Those would all be great ports of call. I'm guessing the SC port of call is Charleston.

We had the same survey. We said no to every one.

Really?
It looks like they are trying to find a possible new base for the Magic. Do you NOT was to use DCL anymore or are you just not interested in having a DCL repositioned to one of those ports?

That would be the Lake Erie/Lake Ontario/St. Lawrence River route! :teeth:

There was a rumor this summer that Disney had been looking at taking over the niagara Falls attraction... Maid of the mist... not sure if it had any truth to it.

I haven't received the survey, but if I did, I'd also answer "No" to those choices. When we cruise DCL, I like to tie in a trip to WDW or DLR. I could see why those living within driving distance to those ports would prefer it ad an option. For us, we'd have to fly to any of them anyway so we might a well fly to MCO or LAX as the airfares to those places is relatively low for us.

Well - where would you like to see DCL go?

I would love to see special 10 day cruises out of Canaveral! They can fit a 3rd ship in there every couple of weeks or so.

The itineraries they supplied in the survey were boring.

Thank you for not chastising me!

We like to go to WDW with our cruise trips.

I have no desire at all to fly to NY to sail to Bermuda, or NY to FLA. I don't want to sail down the coast. I want to go somewhere warm. What exacatly is in Galveston? Nothing for me. If I want to go to Savannah or Charleston, I will drive. I cruise to go to warm, exotic places.

Oh I would LOVE:lovestruc to see a Disney ship in our harbor!! What a beautiful site that would be...however it would probably make me really jealous of those onboard!:goodvibes

Yes, they were boring because almost all (except Bermuda) involved the Caribbean.

I have no desire to cruise out of Galveston or NY for a Caribbean cruise. But if I lived in Texas or on the east coast, a ship sailing from NY or Galveston would be enticing to me. DCL needs either new itineraries or new home ports.

**Though I was being funny earlier about a Great Lakes cruise, there ARE companies that do those. I booked a Canada cruise from Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale for next October, and the St. Lawrence in the fall is beautiful.
