November 18, 2010 Wonder 3 day

Hi everyone!!

We just booked today~

Is it too late to join in the FE??

Welcome Disney Travels!!! My daughter and her family are cruising with us on the 11/21 Wonder and they live in Kalamazoo off Portage Street! You're neighbors. It's such a small world, you may even know her.

Hi All,

Just got back from a wonderful week on the Disney Magic. It was sad leaving but so glad that we will be on the Wonder in just over two weeks. The changes at Castaway Cay are amazing! For those who are repeaters, even the tram from ship to family beach is different.

If you get switched to the second seating you will catch the shows before you go to dinner. You don't want to miss the shows, especially The Golden Mickeys. Either way you will have a great time and you will be exhausted, but you won't realize you're exhausted until you get home and then you will need a vacation from your vacation.

I fully agree! I got off the Magic Saturday morning, and I slept a lot yesterday and took today off work, just to rest up. But it was worth it!!!

I have already packed my suitcase, but I did pack the few extra gifts that I had left over so I can see what I can do!

Do we have any pin traders on the cruise? I have a lot of UK exclusive pins that I'll be bringing along with me and will make sure I keep some back if people are interested in them!

We fly out on Saturday and I'm starting to get very excited! Only 4 days (and an hour) left at work before we go!

I am now super excited! I am done with FE gifts for the ladies, men, teen girls, kid girls, baby girl, kid boys, baby boys!!!!!

I have no clue what to do for the teen boys!! I am completely out of ideas. I went back and forth and back and forth between per cabin gifts and per person gifts and finally setteld on per person gifts. Never been so excited and so confused about the same thing :lmao:

I also had a ton of fun making my gifts, my gifts are 50% homemeade and 50% store bought :)

Somebody help me witht he teen boys gifts.

Yoo -hoo its November!!!:cool1:

We have extras and will bring them along. Lil me, my daughter did a little bit of pin trading on the last cruise, but now is really in to it and will definitely want to find a fellow pin trader. She will be so excited to hear one of our dis meet members is a pin trader.
Can't wait for the cruise...we can now actually say "this month!"

Did you all book your excursions in Nassau already? Anybody doing Atlantis aqua venture thru Disney or renting a room at Comfort suites?

Castaway Cay, i think we are just going to snorkel in the family beach. The kids already have their snorkel equipment, me and DH might just buy it too.Would we need anything else if we bring our own snorkel gear? I mean i have never used any tubes or floats in hawaii when we went snorkelling, so no idea if they are necessary or not.

That's great Ali! I'll make sure to save some of my pins. I have some lovely Tinkerbell ones that your DD will no doubt love too!

At Nassau we've booked onto the Ardastra Gardens and City Tour. Not booked any excursions at Castaway Cay yet.

We're going to Paradise Island Resort with a day pass. Looks like a nice pool and beach and it is all-inclusive (food and alcohol). Probably nothing compared to Atlantis, but for a 4th of the price, it should be fun.

We're doing the Discover Atlantis DCL excursion and Castaway RAY's stingray adventure.

My DW does some pin trading. I bet she would love to trade. :santa:

Gotta add GO RANGERS!

My wife and I were on the Wonder this past May and did the catamaran snorkeling trip on Castaway Cay. This time we are discussing bringing our own stuff. It's a lot cheaper and just as good. I think bringing your own snorkel gear is a great idea.

As for Nassau, that is when I like to stay on the boat because everyone else gets off. You have everything to yourself on the boat. The problem this time is that it's our kids first time to Nassau so we will have to get off. We will only walk around and, of course, visit Tortuga rum shop :)

My kids and I pin trade as well. Perhaps we have some Disneyland pins you would like! I know we would love anything UK exclusive.

I'm on my last business trip before the cruise. Little Rock, AR. Not a big fan of this place.

I guess everyone realizes that our cruise is THIS month. 16 days, but who's counting.

My wife is making our FE. We have no idea what we are doing so it should be interesting. I say we, but I have nothing to do with it. I'm sure that's a good thing.

The rest of our FE gift stuff should be in this week. I will get home around the 12th and then begins the rush to get everything together. We will have extra stuff for the exchange so with everyones extras we should be able to take care of the late comers.

We have brought our own snorkeling equipment to Castaway Cay and it was fine. The first year I thought I would "save weight" and not bring the fins. OOPS! My DH was a little unhappy with me for that. Now we bring the fins, extra weight or not in the suitcase. :rolleyes1 You still have to get the yellow vest from DCL but you can inflate it as much or as little as you like.

We're planning on just enjoying the ship in Nassau. We'll be doing a back to back, and we've been to Nassau before. It was nice but for right now I think we will enjoy our "sea day" even more! If I had never been before I would want to go to Nassau, or even if it were a longer cruise.

I forgot about the rum...!

We have no excursions booked for Castaway Cay...just going to enjoy the beach day. My kids have never been to the beach, so this will be the perfect first time experience! :cool1:

As for Nassau, I think we will hit the Straw Market for fun and possibly walk over to the Pirate Museum, it seems to get decent reviews and will be a quick trip. I am hoping to spend the last half of the day on the boat.

I can't wait! FE gifts are packed, kids suitcase is partially packed and I'm half way out the door! :rotfl:

Thanks for letting me slip in on the FE's! :)

I promise I will make it worth it :)

We have also packed our snorkeling gear.... for our 1st family cruise and we were just going to junk it there so we didn't take it back... but I got them for $30 each- it was end of season (now) at Eddie Bauer at our local mall and still got the lifevest fm DCL - for free and we loved our gear so much we KEPT it.. and have used it several times since... only on our DCL of course!!! lol

I think we are going to do Atlantis.. with hotel room - for the day.
Castaway - I think we are going to do some paddle boat.. the kids want a up close of the Pirate ship :).. I guess they haven't been close enough...lol
