The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !

Went on the 22nd and had an amazing time! Crowd was low, so low that they were handing out BAGS of candy when we left!

I went as Dr. Doofinschmirtz and had my hair done at the barbershop. When I went to pay, they said it was 'on the house', so I just handed them the $20 I was planning on paying anyway. They did such a good job I even had some folks ask to get their pic with me!

We had the same thing happen on the 19th ... bags of candy handed out after you went through the exit. We had stayed until after the last show in front of the castle, and did our shopping at the Emporium on the way out. And it was the good stuff ... all chocolate! :thumbsup2

I got home from WDW last night and went to three parties on my trip (10/24, 10/26, 10/28). The most congested we saw it was 10/24, but the others were fine. Even Space Mountain had a 5 minute wait every time we went past. The 28th didn't seem crowded at all, once you got out of the dwarfs line.

pics for proof? all i did was wear a doofenshmirtz shirt

We went on the 26th and it seemed pretty crowded. We got on line for the Dwarves at 6:30pm and the line was already very long. We got our picture taken right before 8pm. The family at the front on the line told me they got there at 6pm.

As it turns out we would have been better off waiting till later, walked by there about 11pm and the line looked about 15 minutes.

There was no wait at all for the Hag. There was a short wait for the photopass pic in front of the Haunted Mansion hearse. There was no wait at all and people just walking right on by the photopass photographer for the other ghost pic, I don't think most people knew what it was or they would have been stopping there.

We walked onto most rides and had good spots for Hallowishes and the parade. We loved the parade. :) I want to get that music, it was a very catchy tune. :dance3:

We didn't get all that much candy but we really didn't need that much anyway. :rolleyes1 It wasn't worth the time it took to go around and get the candy, we threw away 90% of it. Next time I'll go to Walgreen's and buy one bag of something we actually like and just have that, lol.

Maybe if we hadn't spent so much time waiting for the Dwarves it wouldn't have seemed so busy to us since we really didn't wait all that long for anything else. That took such a large chunk of the evening that we felt somewhat rushed from that point on to fit in everything else we wanted to do and see.

That is great! I think my husband saw you. Great costume!

Hello All:
Just returned home an hour ago from WDW. DD and I went to the party on Friday night. We got there around 4:30 and rode some rides, got our wristbands.

7pm, we started to get our TOT on. Rides were 5 minutes or less. We got a variety of candy. for all you raisin lovers-there was a trail at Splash Mountain, that ended at the entrance of it, they had raisins. We didnt do the character lines. We saw the Headless Horseman and parade and fireworks.

Lines were not long, it wasn't crazy crowded like I thought. I loved seeing other people's costumes.

I actually plan to go back next year earlier and do the MNSSHP again before I go on a cruise.

Blech tonight's party is sold out :(. If I had wanted to go to a sold out party I would have gone last night. Guess Disney goofed discounting it this year.

We attended our first MNSSHP on Fri, 29 Oct. It was sold-out, but you wouldn't know it by the crowd level. We got to MK around 4 pm and rode SM twice with about a 10 min wait then we hit a few more rides before dinner at Casey's. We were in line for the Seven Dwarfs around 6:15 which was on our must-do list. We didn't wait in line for any other characters. We watched the first parade and Hallowishes then spent the night ToT, face painting, dance party with Stitch, etc... It was definitely worth doing once. We'll probably go again in 2012.

Only drawback was the lack of Halloween Mickey ears with pumpkin. I saw them online but didn't buy them since I thought they'd be everywhere at MK, and I didn't want to pack them. The CM said they were everywhere three weeks ago to which I replied that they could've sold many more if they were available during the actual weekend of Halloween. Same for Halloween lanyards. The only place I found them were at AK and there were only six left! One plus is that I did find Mickey Frankenstein ears at EPCOT on 1 Nov and they glow in the dark!

I finally uploaded a picture of us in front of the castle on our party night Oct.12th. Our party was awesome - and thanks to all the great people here and all the tips I collected we got to see everyone we wanted :goodvibes

We were at the party the 31st and it was such a blast. Didn't get to do all we wanted, just another reason to go again next year! My question is about pins...I wanted to get pins for my girls, but was really sad that they were all gone :(

However, I stumbled into the Minnie "Leota" and a "Minnie Cinderella/Carriage" passholder pin(only offered on one night) thanks to some new friends in line :). Do you have to be an annual park passholder to just get the special pins? My girls love the collecting not the trading, they want to keep what they get. Any insight would be great!

Wow! You all look super, great costumes!!!

Nemo's Search and Rescue Team had a great time on the first.

Our intersting tip, if you will, was the doom=buggy picture. There were lines early in the evening, but not near the end of the party. However, the CM was hardly interested in what she was doing anymore. So plan accordingly, next year.

The party on the 31st was AWESOME! I got pics with my favorite villains (Dr. Facilier and Maleficent), even made a short line to get pics at the Judge's Tent with Minnie and Mickey, saw the first parade with a spot in front of the castle, saw the Villain's show from right in front of the castle, we got to walk on all the rides we planned that night, the dance party with Stitch was AWESOME!, we even had time to get a bite at Cosmic Ray's. Hallowishes was the bomb!!!! We had a seat on the ground right in front of the castle - beautiful! I love more than Wishes. Maybe because I'm a villain fan??? Anyway...

The odd thing I experienced was that people were more worried about trick or treating and those lines were sooooooooooo long. Villain Meet and Gree lines were rather short, but had to be cut for the parade, but still not long as I thought it would be. We basically strolled into the Judge's Tent and a quick face painting for our DD2. Shrugs!!!!!! We got candy in Tomorrowland at the end of the night when CMs were just giving loads a way and we some for our little one.

We had gotten to the park around 6pm because we got our little one napping in the afternoon (so glad we did that!) and around 6:45pm announcements from that freaky, ghost guy came on like every 5 minutes letting people know that if you need to start leaving the park because the party is starting and if you weren't supposed to be there then you needed to go. That had Main Street and the hub and the bridges kinda crowded/congested for a bit. We decided to go to POTC until the commotion was over.

We took advantage of free face painting as well. Photopass photographers, we felt, were far and in between with long lines to have pictures taken at their posts. I felt like there a far less Photopass photographers now than in the past and I won't be purchasing photopass anymore. I found myself trying to at least break even or at least make it to 1 buck a picture so I'd feel better about my purchase. We got pics in front of the castle, in front of POTC, in front of HM (forgot about the bridge), with Buzz, Mickey and Minnie and my villains (no photopass for villains).q

Overall, we love the party, but DH doesn't like that time of year (the enthusiasm doesn't mirror Spring Break) so I think this will be our first and last party for a very long while. I am so so glad we got to do it. That lady who sits on the hill in front of HM was hilarious up there talking to herself and laughing...she lead a crowd out of HM as it was quitting time for her...she had everyone laughing...great makeup and costuming.

We had a blast! Thankse to everyone for their helpful tips. I followed most of them.

If you are at MK the same day as the party are you able to see the fireworks and parade without buying the MNSSHP tickets (you just aren't able to trick or treat) and do you know is a 2 year old free?

Yes a 2 yr old is free and no you can't see the fireworks and parade if you don't have tickets for MNSSHP. People that have just the regular day ticket have to leave at 7pm. They start up checkpoints to make sure you have your MNSSHP bracelet. The parade and fireworks aren't until later on in the evening when it gets dark.
