Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

I'm confused I saw this family suite in youtube has no flat screen tv! just plain tv! Please tell me does this family suite has flat screen tv?

I'm debating between a family suite at AsMu or a room at CBR. I want to stay at both for different reasons. :) Can't wait until next October to go back!

Overall, we loved them! Only down side was the one day I forgot to leave a tip and a note for mousekeeping, they "punished" us. We had towels left on the floor, no restocking of shampoo, soap, or coffee! I went to front desk and they ordered them for us, but they never showed up either. Thank goodness for my refillable cup...I need my coffee, especially when it is 7am!

I'm so excited to find out about the family suites! Can't wait to book it for our May '11 vacation!

Question about tipping Mousekeeping. What is the standard tip? I'm pretty much a vacation newbie so I haven't come across this much!

Hi All

First time posting. I'm planning my families first Disney trip, (Myself, DW, DS8, DS6, DD6) for end of Jan/11 or Sept/11. I was between POR & ASM family suite & this thread has made my decision much easier. Thanks to all the great posts
it makes planning our first magical family trip truly magical.

How many people can hold in the All-Star Music Family Suites? please tell me!

The Family Suites can sleep 6 - two in the bedroom and four in the living area (fold out sofa for two, fold out chair for one, and fold out ottoman for one).

Our group of three families were in DW last week, two families had two family suites and me and my husband had a regular room down the hall. They worked out so well-the kitchen is wonderful for eating breakfast in, the two full baths are great and we were all in the Calypso Building which was so nice and close to bus stop, food court, lobby, etc. We were all very pleased and would highly recommend. AsMu is a large resort and with little ones it was nice to be so close!

I just noticed that this was your first post (which you mentioned!).

:welcome:to the DIS!

If you are still planning, I highly recommend January for the low crowds (somehow, I find January crowds a bit more relaxed, too) and nicer weather (September is still hot and humid). I would love to take all of our trips in January if it weren't for school schedules!

Have a great trip!

Thanks Elmo888

January is a no go. We thought it would be nice to go south during the winter months. My wife's work schedule, DS's 9th B-Day, Friends Christmas Party, Family Christmas gatherings just did not leave us enough time to thoroughly enjoy planning this trip. Plus it might be hard to do ADR on such short notice, we wanted to do one for our DS's 9 & 7 and one for our DD 7. We are doing this with out our children knowing, going to surprise them, just not sure how yet!!! We may go the end of May at the earliest but more likely the end of Sept. We are trying to go when FD is available, with family of 5 its a big savings. Even with Discounted Rooms Pin.

Regards,

We're heading to WDW in just a few weeks!!! :cool1:

It's our first time staying there and after reading (most) of this thread I'm very happy with our decision to pick a suite at ASMu.

I do have a question on the buildings and whether or not we should make a request.

Is there a big difference between the Calypso and Jazz buildings? And should we try to request one over the other?

It's only our 2nd trip to WDW, and it's a first trip for 2 in the group. We stayed at Pop last time and we had quite a walk from the room to the bus stop. We won't have a car and will be relying on Disney transportation.

We have a 4 year old, and we'd like something with easy access to the bus stop. Since we're going in december, pool access is not anything we're even considering or wanting.

any suggestions? Should I request a room/building?

Thanks for any advice!!!

Calypso are the first buildings after you leave the lobby/food court and the one and only bus stop for ASMu is just outside the lobby. So, that would be the most convenient. We had three small children with our famly group and it worked out so well in Calypso. I would request that one!

We are staying in the family suites in May! I'm so excited to actually have a separate space from the kids. We are only a family of 4, but not used to sharing spaces for sleeping. I want everyone to sleep well on this trip, so it was worth the extra $. We plan to order from Garden Grocer so we can do breakfast in our room most days :thumbsup2

Great idea Heather. We had cars so went out and grocery shopped. The refrigerators are the smaller ones and if you are ordering milk I suggest you order 1/2 gallons rather than the larger gallon bottles-I am not sure the full gallon jugs will fit-at least two 1/2 gallons fit just fine.

The extra space is great-one of our families we traveled with who had a suite only had one child, but the extra bath and living area was such a treat versus a standard hotel room.

The last time I checked the price of a 1/2 gallon of milk was the same on Garden Grocer as it was at the resort so I always just bought my milk as needed at the resort. Other things were cheaper on Garden Grocer so I place an order with them but just didn't worry about the milk from them. I haven't check lately but it was the same a while ago.
