The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

while my home has been invaded by a bunch of 15 yr old girls, I've been hiding in my room catching up! I'm all caught up now...way too much for me to comment on, but I know you'll survive without my witty comments and dorky pictures.

:cool1: that you're caught up! That's a lot of reading, plus all of the other threads you must be subbed to. Thanks! Now, I can expect lots of good quips from you going forward. ;)

Okay, I really enjoyed the girl's creative writing skills, and there were so many lines that I really loved/cracked up over. Didn't have time earlier, but wanted to take the chance to comment on a few. I will either just highlight those in red, or add my thoughts in red where I see them.

I appreciated your coments Marvin. With them embedded in my quotes, I can't really pull them out, but they were very nice. Thanks.

Hey, Dan and I are the real reason everyone comes here! That and the Where is Judy-do contests!!!

Oh yes, some of the main attractions.

That was so nice that he let your daughter unofficially tryout. I would have voted for them too!

I agree your DS needs to contribute for the next chapter.

The girls really loved the cameraman (Frank) and the judge (Justin). I mentioned them by name when I filled out my post-trip survey that Disney sent me.

Wow, I'm really amazed at how well Marlene & Lauren handled the whole audition process! It's something I'm actually really happy didn't exist when we were kids, because I could see it having extremely high potential for ruining an entire day...disappointment at not being chosen, competition between me and my sisters, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks. You're right, it has a big risk of ruining your day, but Frank and Justin came through and helped to turn it into a positive experience.

We just weren't as emotionally mature as your girls!

Well I don't know about that.

I don't know but there was a slam of some sort in there!

Maybe it was Judy, she took longer to get to the audition area.

:rotfl: Marv and Dan's ego's have no bounds. I may have to quit lobbying for anyone.

They really don't need a boost.

Marking my spot !!!! Oh Lordy what have I left myself open for ????????:rotfl2:

You're like a cat lady.

Finally all caught up !!!! Just back from the world and boy was it hot.

That was a most enjoyable update! You're daughters have more guts than I had at that age. Too bad none were selected to perform. :guilty:

My daughter Maddy has started chior in 5th grade so she could be an aspiring AI some day. We will have to see if she gets that kind of confidence as she approaches high school.

It looks like you are packing it in early this night. Another early rope drop tomorrow?

Ego's? Dan might have an ego, but I don't got no stinkin' ego! :guilty:

I don't think the DIS allows posts that long!!! :rotfl2:

Some of them weren't comments as much as the way they gave explanations/clarifications for some of their comments. Some of those were too cute!:thumbsup2 And you do have some great kids there! Definitely can tell Judy is coming out in them......:rolleyes1
I think I still have 8 left!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
8 what? :confused3 Italians, Germans, big Kahunas........poles??? :rotfl:

Hi, Glen. Just stopping in so I can see my countdown ticker. :rotfl2::rotfl2: Seriously, just wanted to say that I hope you and the family had a good weekend and I also wanted to see what kind of mischief all of you were up to the last couple of days. ;)

Glad you liked that one. I thought it would be good, having the girls give their own narrative. Yeah, I don't think I would have attempted it either!

Oh, that's good. I'll be rooting for her when she gets to that point.

Kinda sorta.

Let's see, where did I put that "I can't believe what I'm reading" smiley?

Hmmm, this one's a little understated, but it'll have to do:

Whew! That was a close one.

I have to agree. I thought the differences in writing styles was kind of interesting too. Marlene wrote it very much like she was speaking it.

And you do have some great kids there! Definitely can tell Judy is coming out in them......:rolleyes18

Can't argue that.

Hey, leggo my ego.

4 days! You're just rubbing it in. No, that's great -- I hope you have a wonderful time!

Sorry, I haven't had time to be on here much lately (so I guess that means I'm staying out of mischief? At least on the DIS.). My next installment will have some pictures around CSR, and I'd love to get it posted before you go, but I'm not sure. I won't have time to work on it for a couple of days.

Of course I'm rubbing it in. :lmao::lmao:

I'm taking my laptop with me (although I haven't told DH that yet); I get free Wifi at Starbucks so I figure I can DIS while having my morning and/or afternoon coffee while on Marco Island. ;)

Looking for a little assistance. I am trying to upload some pictures. Right now I am working with my PhotoPass disk and Photo Bucket. As I was uploading I noticed some of my pics were as big as 1.5MB. I know in the past when I tried to post pictures they were enormous. Do you know if I need to re-size them? And if I do - how? :confused3 I have noticed you have posted your own and PhotoPass pics and they aren't ridiculously large, or tiny thumbnail pics - so this look like something you have mastered.:thumbsup2 Eventually I will try to get some of our personal camera pics up also.....right now all the current ones are on DH's computer.....that room looks like a command center with his 2 (or maybe 3 now :confused3) computers and half a dozen external hard drives.....I don't go down there - it scares me

I don't do any resizing of my photos...I just let 'em fly as is. And they are ridiculously large files too (between 3 and 6 MB) because my camera is 12 megapixels.

Question: when you insert an image from Photobucket, are you selecting the "Direct Link" coding?

Your description of your husband's "command center" cracked me up!

the other day I was de-poop sacking some shrimp and I thought of you and Judy.;)

Don't remember off the top of my head, and don't have time to look right now, but I have resized a number of photos in Photobucket. I think if you click on the picture so it is the only one you see (instead of the whole Photobucket album) it is fairly obvious what you need to select to resize. I know they have some "standard" sizes you can choose from to resize them to (the smallest is basically thumbnail size), but I also think you can create your own size. Sorry I can't give you more specifics, but hope that helps some anyway.

Aw! I'm tearing up that you would think of us.

We were just talking about that the other day too. Judy broke her de-pooper (musta been a particularly stopped-up shrimp) and had to go to a seafood store to find one because she couldn't find one in the grocery store.

Thanks for chiming in Marvin. I hope she gets it figured out....we like pictures!

WHAT?!? They make a de-pooper??? I always do it with a knife and my fingers! I must find one!

Oh yes, growing up in an area where a lot of seafood, and especially shrimp can be purchased right off the boats, we are well versed in de-poopers. :woohoo: It is actually called a de-veiner around these parts. It is curved and gets smaller towards the end. You slide it under the shell along the back of the shrimp (where the vein is, opposite side of the legs) towards the end of the tail and it not only de-poops the shrimp, but also removes the shell in one easy motion. :thumbsup2 Makes quick work of getting the shrimp ready for what is important.......the consumption!
