Taking ME to airport to pick up rental car?

Do you think it would be possible to grab an open seat on ME back to MCO and from MCO back to the hotel. We are looking at renting a minivan for just one day and the prices are much lower at the airport. Just thinking about my options...

sorry no the dme buses wont be able to take you back and forth between airport and hotel to pick up a rental car. they are only to bring guest to the airport for their flight home and to bring guest to their hotel. you will have to be on there list and in the system to use the bus so you will be in the system to bring you from the airport to your hotle when you get there and to bring you back to the airport when your trip is over. so there wont be any way for you to use them to get your rental car sorry. your other optionto pick up the car is to take a taxi from your disney resort or arrange for a mears airport shuttle that will cost around 20 each way from the swan or dolphin.

You can call ME and schedule a ride to the airport, but you can't just hop on a bus.

You get one complimentary round trip per person anytime during your WDW Resort reservation. It does not have to be on arrival or departure day and you don't have to have a flight scheduled. You do have to be a WDW Resort guest and make an advance reservation.

So yes, as long as you make an advance reservation you could use DME to get to the airport for the rental car.

However, that would leave you without a way to get home from the airport when you return the rental car and without a return trip to the airport (assuming you need one) at the end of your resort reservation.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll just reserve one at the car care center.. I was only wondering because whenever I've taken the ME the buses haven't really been that full..

It doesn't matter that/whether the bus is full. As tjmw2727 indicates, it's a perk Disney offers its onsite Guests... mainly to keep us onsite and spending all our money there!!! It's not free transportation.

If you really want to go to the airport for a rental, see www.golynx.com. The Route 111 bus from Downtown Disney takes about an hour, goes to MCO, and costs $2 (exact change required).
