DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

They even got me on the Great Bear...How? By telling me it was a cross between Soarin' and RRC, that's how!!
coaster2.jpg

It was just about then, during that upside down, corkscrew that I started singing "Dude Looks Like a Lady!!!" Seriously, I thought I was going to die and had my eyes closed the ENTIRE time!

Love the Great Bear - just too darn short!

Sorry Ellen - can't see your pics - restricted computer woes.

And because of Swisher that little girl will be a baseball fan for life. How cool! :goodvibes

Yea- I hope so!:goodvibes

That;s a great story Ellen !!

Thanks- I just thought it was awesome while I was watching it.:thumbsup2

Great pics Ellen! Sadly, I lost my love of baseball after all the strikes and the crazy money involved. I was a die hard KC Royals fan growing up, George Brett was my first crush! Then I followed the Tribe for awhile when I lived in Cleveland, but I think I hate NBA players first, then baseball players next. So it was very refreshing to read that story.

It also doesn't help that I have lived the past 15 years in a city with no major league bball team. I'll take football, especially college football, any day!

Ok- sorry for your loss!

That tank definitely is lucky! :rotfl: But my, oh, my...swisherlicious...mmmmmm....:lovestruc

::yes::

It is so nice to see any athlete these days (I'm with Kara in that it seems more and more hard to find in baseball and basketball) so totally enjoy what they do and understand they get to do it because there are fans. You captured those moments so well. He's like a little kid still in awe of what he gets to do.

That is EXACTLY how I felt about him- so fantastic to see!! :cloud9::lovestruc

WOW love that camera.. its like you are on the field with them! And way to go Pods on the catch! But im a lil upset... no pics of my hubby.. Derek that is LOL

Are you happy now?

Finally caught up again! I have missed so much!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Yummy drinks!
Good food!
LOTS of fun pics! :rotfl2:

But now I am here again - so keep on going! popcorn::

Hi Karin- glad you're back!

Great pictures Ellen. :thumbsup2

You know it's funny. I haven't had a lucky item of clothing since college. Used to get lots and lots of free drinks with that red dress.
But that's a different story all together.

Yes...red dress stories usually are... :rotfl: a different story altogether AND great for lots of free drinks!!

Good morning Rosie! ;)

Ellen, what kind of camera do you have? I just got a Nikon D5000 for my bday and I'm trying to "relearn" photography. I took some great pics outside yesterday but the pics I took at Ally's swim banquet last night was kinda humorous. Blurry, etc. I need to go get a book at the library as a refresher.....

Canon Rebel xsi- love it! Very happy!! No live screen without some playing with it, but I don't mind because I prefer to look through the camera anyway most of the time. Try taking more pics on automatic til you get used to how a big camera feels again. And those books for dummies are GREAT!! :worship:
Happy almost birthday!! Glad we haven't missed it! We'll have to set aside next Friday for a whole day of Happy Birthday ITSK abuse!!! Get your pics ready everyone!!!:yay: :rotfl:

Wow, great pics! What kind of camera did you use? I love that you got the ball in the picture where Timmy almost gets it. And CC is huge. I first saw him a couple of years ago at ESPN the weekend with my son (also named Timmy) and I thought he had to be a football player. I couldn't believe it when my son told me he was a pitcher.
Great shots of Nick Swisher and he seems like a nice guy too.
We love the Yankees. My son is about to go off to Boston for college and is bringing all his Yankee shirts!

Hi there!! :wave2: I personally couldn't believe I got that pic of Timmy nearly catching the ball either! :scared1: :rotfl: I can see where you would think CC was a football player- that is most definitely what he looks like. He was enormous!!! How wonderful your son is going to school up in Boston- I always hear what a great city it is for college...except for that baseball problem up there. Good luck wearing the tshirts!! Tell him to be careful!!!

Yay, Ellen!!! Though I'm not really a baseball fan and we're not Yankee fans in this house (sorry, Mets rule here...even when they stink!! :rotfl:), but LOVE your photos and the Nick Swisher story....sounds like a REALLY great guy!!! Also, I agree, THAT was a night the Yankees really deserved a win!:goodvibes My Grandpa McArdle was a HUGE Yankees fan (I grew up listening to Billy Martin stories!!!), so I really can appreciate the history!!!

Aaahh..the Mets. I have nothing to say. :rotfl: Anyway, I just wanted to mention again how impressed I am that
1. Morgan went on EVERY coaster and
2. You went on that CRAZY feet hangin'one! :scared1:

Holy crap, Joanie! You're a better man than ME!! :rotfl2:

Holy crap Ellen....

those are some amazing seats and some really amazing pictures! What an exciting game. Don't you just LOVE your camera during moments like that?

Holy crap Ellen....

Yes- I really did. If I had been seating where Tyler & Timmy were, I think they would have been even better because I could have leaned on the wall. But- I guess THEY are more important than my pictures.

YES I AM.. thank you LOL

btw what type of camera do you have?

I usually just lurk but Swish brought me out of lurkerdom. He really is a class-act. He played for the White Sox, my team, and everyone was so sad to see him leave. Not only is he an All-Star player but a really great all around guy. Glad to see that just because he's crossed over to the dark side, I mean gone to play in New York :rolleyes1, that he hasn't changed who is he. You guys got a good one there...

Just poppin'in to say Hi !!! Ellen et al' I have a new ptr !!!Shameless PLUG!!!!:rotfl2: AND the link is in my siggie:snooty::lmao:

We all sat down to dinner, winners and losers co-habitating semi-peacefully at the same table. :scared1: We ordered appetizers, and for some reason, i have no pics of them!!! I'm guessing that's because someone else took a photo of it all (hopefully that someone will post their pics). I think I had calamari, that was tasty, but very filling. Our main dishes came out, and Kara and I had ordered the Crab Crusted mahi mahi

2010_0504dismoms2010water0219.jpg

It was delicious, but it was extremely rich. Especiallly after the calamari. Joan had scallops-

Pam had surf & turf-

2010_0504dismoms2010water0221.jpg

Which she really enjoyed. I kind of wish I had ordered that, or skipped the calamari, because my tummy was bloated and VERY uncomfortable after this meal. Ugh. Cammie had the lobstah-

2010_0504dismoms2010water0223.jpg

which she adored....Last year, Cammie had requested we try this restaurant, and that's why we were all here- so I was SO happy she was thoroughly enjoying herself!

2010_0504dismoms2010water0224.jpg

We had SUCH an amazing view from our table....our friend upfront REALLY hooked us up!

2010_0504dismoms2010water0230.jpg

For dessert, Cammie ordered a martini- a chocolate one, I think? I probably had a Gran Marinier in an effort to settle my tummy, but I don't think it helped much!

2010_0504dismoms2010water0231.jpg

Anyway, it was time for Wishes, so we went out onto the deck to enjoy the show. It was glorious, with the music piped in-

Our server that night was...different. She was ok, but....just ok. Like if you were at a plain, everyday kind of establishment. She'd be PERFECT at a coffee shop. At a signature dining restaurant at WDW? Not so much. Anyway, we WINNERS took a photo with our buddy up front before we left- being that we had become so close and all since we had just spent soooooooooooooo much time with him earlier that evening....:rolleyes1

2010_0504dismoms2010water0242.jpg

We were on our way to MK for EMH....and a DISmeet with two of my favorite ladies, MEK and Manntra! We thought it would be nice to take the boat...so we went over to the dock. I took a few photos while we waited....

It is a pretty restaurant, isn't it? Too badI didn't have a better camera with me. Oh well... The boat arrived and...guess what? No boats after regular park hours! HUH? Yepper...we were waiting for nothing. So we waddled on over to the monorail, and hitched a ride over to MK.

Up next...where ARE we all????

Mmmm, your meals all look so good! We loved Narcoossee's. I've seen a few "not so good" reviews lately, so I'm glad to hear you had a good experience.

I DID take a couple pictures of our appies.....you were "indisposed" at the moment.....I guess it was all that excitement of winning the race to the restaurant :rolleyes1
Ellen's calamari...........
073.jpg

I had the lobster bisque. I think someone else had this as well; maybe Kara?
071.jpg

It was delicious, but very, very rich. I also should have followed this with the surf and turf like Pam, rather than the scallops. Afterwards, I also had a Gran Marnier to settle my tummy. Sipping this while watching Wishes on the deck was wonderful!
I must say that I agree with Ellen....our server was just OK and would do well in a different type of Disney establishment. Our seats were nice....if you were next to the window, or on the opposite side from me....I had a lovely view of the corner next to the window when trying to look at the water. Sorry, no picture of the wall, but my friends Cammie, Pam and Kara provided a lovely view for me!:cutie:
I remember that there was also a lot of commotion during our dinner, a couple different patrons complaining about their checks/meals/something which was a bit distracting. Maybe someone else remembers the details of this? All in all, it was a beautiful restaurant and maybe if I'd ordered something else, I would have enjoyed it a bit more!
WADDLING to the monorail is a PERFECT description of how I felt at that moment!!! :rotfl2:

Loving the updates from Yankee Stadium. Why? Because Nick Swisher is a BUCKEYE!!!

SWISHALICIOUS, BABY!!

Still, I like him. ;) :rotfl2:

YES I AM.. thank you LOL

btw what type of camera do you have?

Canon Rebel xsi- it's a DSLR. :thumbsup2 That helps a LOT!

I usually just lurk but Swish brought me out of lurkerdom. He really is a class-act. He played for the White Sox, my team, and everyone was so sad to see him leave. Hi! Really happy to hear he has always been a great guy- that was very clear to us when we went to the last game. I can't IMAGINE sitting anywhere else now...hmmmm...that'll pose some problems! $$$$$ CHA CHING! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We promise to take good care of him- and he seems pretty happy here ( but I'm sure he misses Chicago ). You are 100% correct- we got a good one there- thanks! :thumbsup2

Just poppin'in to say Hi !!! Ellen et al' I have a new ptr !!!Shameless PLUG!!!!:rotfl2: AND the link is in my siggie:snooty::lmao:

I'll come say hi tonight, Rosie!

Mmmm, your meals all look so good! We loved Narcoossee's. I've seen a few "not so good" reviews lately, so I'm glad to hear you had a good experience.

I think I would order differently there in the future- either no calamari, or calamari and nothing else!

Great seats at dinner! I love that EWP!

Ok- ya got me. What's EWP??? :confused3

I DID take a couple pictures of our appies.....you were "indisposed" at the moment.....I guess it was all that excitement of winning the race to the restaurant :rolleyes1
