You can sign the reservation over to them. I did that last yea. It wasn't AAA, but it should work the same.

Great that's what I was hoping to hear. I don't want to miss out on my special parade viewing or my AAA storytime.

I called and made a little wiggle in our schedule. Our original trip was 11/21-11/27, completely blacked out...UGH!! So I moved it up....I mean really, who doesnt want to go to Disney 3 days earlier..... Now our dates are 11/18-11/26...thats right....I got to add 2 days...FREE DINING and we still saved $800.00...HECK YES!! This is the best thing that has happened to me and my family in a VERY LONG TIME! I am doing my happy dance as we speak!

Sorry I confused people.

I was originally booked 11/16-11/24 with the 30% pin at POR

Today they took off our 30% discount and added the Free Dining. Under the 30% off room we were saving about $750. Under the Free Dining we are saving about $1000. So we are saving $250 more using the free dining deal than we were using the 30% off pin. So we are not using both deals, just switched the deal we are using.

Oh, ok, gotcha. So glad you were able to get FD, and I'm so glad I got home from my appointment this morning and checked in here to find out about FD and called immediately to change my reservation! YAY!

Yep, that's right!! We saved $1,049.65 with the extended free dining offer!! Not too shabby!! There is almost all our airfair right there!!!

I hope Disney comes out with something for the black-out dates in Oct. If not then we might have to go to Harry Potter and the rest of Universal Studios/Water Parks.

The October dates are blacked out because most schools now have a fall break just like spring break, so it will be a busy time.

YES! Been waiting for this day for so long! Finally just a little bit of a relief with free dining. All I had to do with extend my dates a week. That's okay though. If it saves us just $600., that's a lot to be excited about.

My TA was able to change ours for 10-nights adding extra for the DxDP and still saved us $705.15 for a family of three!!!!

I see that on the Disney site, even though the initial ad about free dining shows up to Oct 2 still, once you click on check availability it shows the FD up to December.

I have a room only booking, and am at work right now, so can't call until later. How much of a pain would it be if I booked a new ressie online then cancelled my room only later. Would it let me do it?

I have been waiting to be able to take advantage of free dining forever!!

I am already booked at POR Oct 21-30

I just called and now I have 3 different ressies:

Oct 21st room only 191.00
Oct 22-28 package with free dining plus, 9 day hoppers
Oct 29th room only 202.00

We are a family of 5 and I just saved a boatload of money and I am soooooo excited!! We have been many many times and never had free dining!

The CM on the phone must have thought I was crazy I was so excited!!

Yup, have done that before, LOL! You will be refunded your room only deposit once you cancel that reservation so book away!

I was able to get the free dining, upgrading to the basic dining plan, our travel dates are Dec 2-9th, just made it, being we were checkin in on the 2, we were able to apply it to our entire stay. Yippee. I saved $537.00 for a family of three adults. Let the countdown begin!

Couldn't get it.
I actually did the online chat on Disney's site first to make sure it was doable with our dates/length of stay and the CM I chatted with gave me a different number to call (560-CHAT) than what is listed on the Disney promo page (939-7918) and I was only on hold about 2 minutes.

But once I got through and the CM looked everything up she said it was not available for AKL Club level for our dates (11/30-12/8), she actually said that they usually don't do much/if any discounts like that for Club level. She did say it was available for pool or standard view but the only savanah view was a queen/bunkbeds and since we will be 4 adults that just isn't going to work.

She did tell me to keep an eye out in August for any new discounts but whether that means there will be some or there may be some I don't know.

Just because I am paranoid do you think I should try the 7918 number just in case or is that probably going to get me the same answer?

Actually I'm Club Level at the Yacht Club and I got the FD for my entire stay 10/7-10/11.. I think it just depends on the number of rooms they choose to make the offer available to at each resort. Any way I normally stay Club Level at AKL on my DVC points and LOVE IT so enjoy!!

WWWoooooHHHHH! So, I called to get FD and they told me I couldn't have it b/c of the blackout dates. I was so mad b/c I am checking in before the blackout dates. Anyways, called again and told them this and got FD. Going Nov30-Dec9 and staying at CBR. See you there.

Awwww yeah! Called my AAA agent today and she said she can upgrade our package with FD on July 13th when my pin goes active for the blacked out dates!! So I get to keep all my AAA goodies and save almost $400!

We were waiting for this announcement, but unfortunately there were no FD rooms at POFQ available for our stay. We've always wanted to stay at AKL, and this has finally forced us to take the plunge!
