"Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout!"- Our 1st DVC stay-May 2010-Wrap Up 9/23

What a fun way to start your stay at WDW! a view of "Josie's" castle, a great show for entertainment while dining on a great dinner... I hope the crowds are an indication to the crowd levels for you guys for the week.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! and have a fantastic Birthday!
:wave2: Connie
Thanks Connie! I wish the crowd level would have been like that the entire week. The three days after that one were kind of heavy but it got a little quieter mid-week. The weather was great though! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! So far, so good! :goodvibes

Joining in on your report!
Your girls are adorable:-)
Your room looks great, lovin the view!
Welcome to my TR Sara!! :welcome: Thanks on the girls and our room was awesome so thanks on that too! :goodvibes

I have never done the luau, so thanks for the review of it! We had monorail issues as well. I can't believe the back ups it had that week!
I couldn't believe the backups on the monorail either. We had to wait for computers to reset, the thing stopped mid journey, etc. It was kind of weird. :confused3
OH wow, the luau looks like fun!! I might have to do that next year with Chris's Niece!!

It was fun! If you do it, be sure to consider paying out of pocket. It might be a better value that way. ;)

GREAT update!! Nice pool!! And YAY for APs and a quick stop at MK! That's strange that you had such issues with the monorail. We didn't have any problems and got places pretty efficiently!? Thanks for the details on the luau! The girls with the leis on their head--that is too cute!! :goodvibes
It was weird with transportation this trip. That would really be only complaint for the entire week. Transportation was in a funk for some reason. :confused3 Thanks on the compliments on the girls. :goodvibes

I love your pictures.

Thanks so much! Welcome to my TR!! :welcome:

Thanks for the review of the luau, Leanne. :thumbsup2 Even though we've stayed at the Poly a few times, we've never been to the show.
No problem! Hope it helps a little! :goodvibes
The luau looks like so much fun! It's been on my list of things to try! We like cheesy! :lmao: Fire dancers are always fun to look at too! :rolleyes1

Your room looks great! I'm sure it was nice to have all that space!!

Yay on the APs!!! :goodvibes

Sara
I whole heartedly agree on the fire dancer...well all the male performers actually. ;)

We really liked having the space. We'll see how we do in a studio in a few weeks. I have a feeling my DH is a bit spoiled now. :lmao:

Great update!! thanks for the review on the luau. Not something I think we would do. The dx dining was not the best deal for us. Especially the kids. More cute pics and I like the new tickers!!

I got my money's worth on the girls, but we had way 13 credits left at the end of the week so overall I'm not sure it was the best value for us. I wouldn't do it again anyway just because I gained 8 freakin' pounds that week. :rotfl2: I have to reload the tickers. I had so many edits on my siggie that I couldn't tell which end was up. I will finish it today though. :goodvibes

The luau looks like so much fun. Believe it or not we never did that after all those times staying at the Poly. Great pictures!

After the luau, we took the monorail over to EPCOT to meet up with some of our DIS friends. We entered the park with no issues and the girls just couldn't resist. They had to take a ride on Spaceship Earth! There was no wait so we quickly boarded our time traveler. As always, the girls loved it!

Next we made our way over to the France pavillion. It was almost dusk but we managed to make it over with little issue. When we arrived the McFarland's were there with our DIS friends already! The DISers to make it were cinderella crazy (Alicia), racefanof88 (Dana), MHTeacher (Michelle), and MaryAZ (Mary) and their families. It was fun but very brief as the show was about to start. I said hi but because I was chasing little crazy girls around, I really didn't get much time to chat. Sorry bout that guys! :sad2: It was really great to put a face with a name though. I have to say that I already felt like we were great friends before we ever met. :goodvibes Funny how the DIS is like that.

Anyway, we all said a brief goodbye and started looking for a spot to watch Illuminations. The show was good however we couldn't have picked a worse spot. After a big round of fireworks went off the wind slung the debris right at us. Nothing like some fireworks shrapnel to the eye to start things off. :rotfl2:

After the show we walked with the McFarland's to the entrance. As we exited we went our own ways. Overall it was a great first day!

The next morning (Day 2) was our AK day. We started bright and early with a breakfast at Tusker House. The bus headed to AK didn't take long at all. :thumbsup2 Here is a shot of Joe entering AK before the park opened.

Once we got to TH, they took a pic of us (again another attempt to get $29.95 from us), and we were seated immediately. This was probably the best breakfast we had all week. Look at some of the selections they had...

If you can't find something to eat at TH, well there's really something wrong with you. Everything was really fresh and delicious. The girls really enjoyed meeting the characters at this breakfast also. We met Donald outside but inside we met these guys...

Goofy was a lot of fun, he kept messing with the girls and putting his hand over Josie's face.

Right about the time we finished with Goofy, it was time for the kids to get their "instruments" and dance with the characters. The girls thought this was pretty cool too. Here they are with their noisemakers.

They followed Goofy all over the restaurant. Shortly after that, Joe received his first b-day cupcake of the trip. Josie thought it was awesome to have part of the cupcake for breakfast.

My entire family really enjoyed this meal and we will definitely be adding this to our list of must do's. This will probably be one that we pay OOP.

Up Next: Our ride reviews and our first GG!

I had a lot of fun meeting all of you! I thought it was great the way we all recognized each other even though most of us had never met in person!

Don't feel to badly about not having much time to chat---Your girls are precious! :)

We love this breakfast, too, Leanne! That jungle juice (or whatever they call it) reminds us of the juice from the 'Ohana breakfast at the Poly. :thumbsup2

BTW---what's the status of our PP pics? Just wondering.............;)

Thanks Michelle! It was fun meeting everyone-especially at WDW!

Once everyone is done uploading and editing PP pics I will order. We have until June 30 for everyone to finish. I'll order it as soon as everyone is done. ;)

I'm joining in too! Your girls are absolutely adorable and I love the pic of them with the leis on their head. How exciting that you guys are DVC members now, if we ever do this AKL would definitely be my first pick. THose rooms look so spacious and nice and the views are amazing! I'm excited to hear how the rest of your trip went:thumbsup2

Yay for Tusker House! Another one we haven't done, but have on the list! Great to hear a good review of it. I always hear good things about the food and so-so things about the character interaction! But yours looked fabulous! More than anything though, getting into the AK early is what appeals to me the most! I just think you can appreciate the beauty of that park more when it is less crowded! :goodvibes

Sara

* Oh yeah, and Yay for DIS meets!! They are the best!! :grouphug:

Epcot sounds like a fun meet up! sorry about the FW mess...I believe that is one of the reasons I prefer MK and DHS...we manage to usually find the smoke when we do Illuminations--but, it is such a great laser and fw show!

Great start to your AK day! love the empty park! the girls are so cute and excited--you did a great job on the pictures on their dance with Daisy!:thumbsup2 and great/fun picture of Joe with his birthday cupcake...

:wave2: Connie

Hey girl! I'm here.....a few days late to the party but here nevertheless. Now I need to go back and catch up. Be back later to post.

Okey dokey, I'm back. Now, let me see if I can remember what it was that I wanted to comment on.

Glad to hear that the flight to Disney was uneventful. :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness.....I love your villa. It's so pretty and the view was amazing.

We went to the luau too. I agree that the first part of the show is cheesy but we still liked it. The fire dancer/twirler was our favorite part.

Sounds like you had a good Dis meet even if it was brief. Like you said, it's nice to have a face to put with the name.

First off, :bday:party:

The monorails were very slow for us as well. I miss ur tickers :sad2: It was great to see you guys again. I agree about Illuminations-I got lots of nasty stuff blown in my face.
Tusker House looks really fun and yummy. Have it on my list for Dec!! Cute outfits on the girls :rolleyes1
