DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

Well, you know- that's exactly what I did for August!! Except my vacation moved from Pigeon Forge, Tenn to HHI- I got a 1 bdrm on the cash discount. I started out saying we would rent out 80 points to pay for some of it....then I thought maybe half of that...then- NO WAY!!! I'm not renting out any of my POINTS!! I need those suckers for Dismom trips and Hawaii in 2012!!

Congrats on getting the bridal show! So what did you decide to do?

how did the big family vacay get moved?? or was that this past year?

I am still rolling about Mr Pumpkin !! I think he should become a required search!! Something like Mickey Heads . Kara's ITSK is such an improvement on last years !! It too needs to become a tradition!!! Maybe ITSK could pose with Mr Pumpkin!!!

Thanks!! I actually did find him tonight (I was OBSESSED) but didn't have time to post due to making dinner, getting everyone off to baseball practice, and going to my bookclub...with Joan... I'm going to post my MAN over on Wigd's 2morrow!

Ellen I will be at Kidani (as usual hahaha) the 22-29 of October...I think I am leaving quite early on the 29th though....didn't have much choice because I used miles for the flight. Not sure if or when I will do MNSSP but I'll see!
Oh and a scary side note regarding Mr. Pumkinhead--I think in Wigd's report he was carrying a Knoebel's bag--that is a small park in Pa that we ususally go to every summer!!! Yikes!!

We're arriving the 28th and doing MNSHHP that night- we're not getting in until who knows when- our plane lands at 5:23 pm (I didn't want the kids to miss an additional day of school since they'll be missing 4 already, so I'm pulling them out mid-day.) Let me know if you decide to MNSSHP that night too!!!

Oh...and i SOOOOO hope you see Mr Pumpkin at the PA park- I want to know if he's a pumpkin there, too!! Do you think he might be a different fruit/veg there? Maybe a tomato or a banana? Does the pumpkin relate to a deep connection he feels to Cinderella and her carriage??? I REALLY wish I would have talked to him- now he remains...an enigma for all time!

Okaloosa County, Fla, where our family lives, although told school would begin August 24th, was 2 months ago told it would start on August 5th. Our log cabin began on August 3rd, and my SIL works in the schools. So Grandma didn't have a ride, not to mention the other 13 family members who'd miss it. I scrambled and begged, and we were able to switch our ressie to another cabin for Thanksgiving without losing our deposit. Literally, i hung up the phone from that deal and called DVC to book HHI!!

We (Kara & I) were going over to meet Cammie & Lonnie at Stormalong Bay. Unfortunately, Cammie & Lonnie were on their way OUT of Stormalong Bay. They said they had had enough- the pool had been closed several times due to unidentified floating objects. (FWIW, they looked like they had made the most of their time there, KWIM?) Kara & I, however, were undeterred...that slide was closing for refurb after today, and we WERE going on it, poop infested waters or not! So with the sage advice of, "Don't swim with your mouth open," we were off. It took some time to find a seat, that pool was incredibly crowded (no doubt EVERYONE made that day their pool day because of the slide closing). No worries- we plopped down our stuff and were sliding in no time! I had not been on that slide in quite a while, and I had forgotten how MUCH fun it is- we LOVED it!! Afterwards, we thought it would be nice to float around the lazy river-

It was such a hot day, that pool felt sooooooo good! It was heavenly floating around- something my kids never want to do when we're here.

I think she was. We didn't need to worry about Baby Ruth floaters after all. We had to worry about her crashing in to us instead.

YC/BC and Stormalong Bay is my absolute favorite. I love to float around the lazy river and stop on one of the seats along the wall and just hang out. Luckily my DS17 loves it as much as I do so he'll hang out there with me. I don't understand why that lazy river is so deep though. I tried a tube in there once and it's too hard to get in and out of. The noodles are much easier.
Looks like you girls had a great time. I had a girls weekend last June. My friends loved the whole YC/BC stormalong bay thing too. I can't wait to get back again. I'm having WDW withdrawals right now. I haven't been since Nov. and with DS starting college in Sept. I don't know when I'll get back. I would love to get down there for one of the DISmeets to meet some of people who are as Disney crazy as me.
