I have read many mixed reviews about "The Wave", though most are not very recent.

The dessert menu looks very delicious :lovestruc but as for the Entrees, I am not sure what choice to make, the menu looks rather limited..

If you have been there recently and can comment on the food, and maybe suggest an Entree, that would be great :) oh, and we cannot eat spicy foods!

Also, I read a comment about very slow service at "The Wave"... can anyone confirm/refute this with their own experience?

Thanks for reading and for your help.

Pictures (especially of entrees) would be greatly appreciated :D

Absolutely loved this place on our visit during xmas week. It was a last minute adr we got the same day. the restaurant is very attractive, wait staff great and food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the no sugar added dessert trio choc mousse crem brulee and fresh berries. DH liked my dessert better than his! We will do this place again! I had salmon and DH had flat iron steak and both were delicious. I also had pear and cheese salad and DH had soup as appetizers (out of pocket as we had DDP).

Thank you for the insight!

Nobody else? :(

We ate there back in January (me, DW, DS, and DD). We have been a couple of times before, and we like the Wave overall. The leg of lamb is superb there- I thought it was much better than Kouzzina. Of course, you have to like lamb!:)

My wife had the pork tenderloin, and she was disappointed. It was overdone, which kills pork. I had the Arctic Char, which was really good. My DD7 even had her own kids' portion of char. My wife actually posted a short review on her blog. I can IM you a link if you'd like.

The Wave is one of our favorites. The only thing I have ever had there is the beef tenderloin and it was delicious! The desserts there are great too. It also has a great atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again! :flower3:

We ate there twice last week. I liked the atmosphere and the food. The service was good, our first meal seemed to take a bit but the second one was quicker.

We both had the filet the first night. I thought it was pretty good, not the best I've ever eaten but not over cooked. The filet was different than the current allears description, it had a scalloped potato with it that was excellent. I forget the veg.

We had two different "trio" desserts. They were excellent, although the first one before was better as the lemon cornbread was very dry but the chocolate mousse was awesome. If they made a trio with the three in red below I'd be in heaven!

Creamy Indulgence - Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis, Coconut Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit Drizzle, Chocolate-Passion Fruit Mousse with Pecan-Olive Brittle $7.99

Decadent Flavors - Blueberry Compote with Yogurt Gelato, Lemon Cornbread with Vanilla Panna Cotta, Chocolate Mousse with Salted Caramel Sauce $7.99

The second night I had the chicken pot pie...I thought it was very good. DH had the flat iron steak and enjoyed it. I had a repeat dessert from two nights prior and DH had the sorbet trio, which IMO was tiny...like 3 smaller than golf ball portions of sorbet.

I also had the Mega berry smoothie as my non-alcoholic bev. it was VERY good.

Enjoy!

It's an absolute must do for us and is now our favorite restaurant. We ate there last May for the first time and are now hooked. We ate there again in January. We were so afraid that it wouldn't be as good as we remembered or that things may have changed. I think the experience in January was better than the first time. DH and I both had the filets on both trips so I can't comment about the other menu items. Each time, the filets were cooked perfectly. We ask our steaks to be cooked Medium Plus (in between Med and Med Well). Most places can't get the temperature right, but they were spot on. It was so tender and you actually use the butter knife at your table to cut it. We both got appetizers, entrees and desserts and ate every bite of each plate. We have it booked again for our upcoming trip in July. We booked it for our last night so we'd be sure to go out with a bang.

My DH loves the lemon-basil sorbet they serve. I will say that particular dessert is an acquired taste and I didn't care for it all! But he loves it and wants to try duplicating it at home.

As far as service, our server last May was a little slow, but it wasn't terrible. We had a fantastic server in January. I can't remember her name right now, but I have it written down at home. She didn't bother you all the time and would quietly come in to refill drinks. She was very personable and would pick the right times to just be "chatty" with you. I had ordered a wine flight when we arrived so I just ordered water. She gave me a huge glass bottle of Evian water to take with me since I didn't order tea or soda. I thought that was very generous of her.

I say if the restaurant looks appealing to you, than give it a try. Everyone has such different tastes and you will never know until you try it yourself.

This is the dessert I had and my server recommended eating the blueberries with the lemon cornbread since it is a dry dessert. That turned out to be an excellent suggestion and the flavors worked great together!

We only had breakfast there and didn't like it. I felt like I was in the basement of the Contemporary. The bf food was mediocre at best. The waitress was one of the best we had, though. She made it a much better it experience than it would've been.

they have a couple of decent beers. They used to have some more local ones, but not so much last time. The bar area is nice enough for a disney bar.

Slow service--yes, that was our experience at lunch. It would not keep us from giving it another try, though, as the food was quite good.

We also snagged a ressie that evening and it was the last meal of our trip! It ended up being my favorite one too.

Here is the Cinnamon Rubbed Pork:

This is from last September when it came with the fingerling potatoes and sauteed veggies. I think now it comes with something different, but I would definitely ask for it this way again! The pork was so tender, it pretty much melted in my mouth.

Here is dd's meal:

I think it was some kind of pasta and salad. I think she ate it so it must have been good!

Here is the Braised Chicken Pot Pie:

If I recall...the chicken came as a breast and was sitting on top. Not cut up amongst the entree. We live in PA Dutch country and this was not exactly what we were expecting. It was more brothy. However, it tasted good!

I am not sure this is on the menu anymore after looking. It was some kind of steak and I think it had a mexican flare to it.

Desserts were a little bit different and were served in "flights" if you will. You got 3 different ones with each. This was great!
I have no idea which ones these were and they don't really match up with the menu now...

We had lunch there in late February and loved it! The service was great, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere provided a relaxing break from the MK.

We were there in February. The restaurant is nice and the food delicious. I had the pasta with seafood and my husband had steak. Both dishes were great. The service was very slow and DD4 can't sit that long. luckily we were staying at the BLT so realizing we were going to be there a while, I popped up back to the room and got our portable dvd player and salvaged the dinner. I recommend for the food and atmosphere. With kids, it can be a long meal with nothing particularly entertaining for them.

We at the Wave 2x for dinner during our most recent trip from Apr. 29-May 8.

I had the filet mignon for dinner 1 night and the pork tenderloin the 2nd time. They were both fantastic, but the filet was divine.

My husband had the fish of the day which was Cobia one night and then the filet the 2nd night. He also thought the filet was the best. He enjoyed the Cobia, but thought it could use a little salt. He didn't mention this until after dinner. He never asked for salt b/c he didn't want to insult the chef. My philosophy is that I'd rather insult the chef and enjoy my meal.

Nonetheless, both meals were very enjoyable. The service was quick and friendly. The no sugar added desserts were our FAVORITE!!! Go figure, b/c I love SWEETS. I wouldn't hestitate to eat at this restaurant.
