Holy cow guys, I go away for a few days and you guys fill over 20 pages. At this rate we will be in IV in no time. Well guys, I am officially unemployed, I woke up this morning and for the first time in a long time I didnt have to do my 1 hr commute to work.:thumbsup2 The restaurant is pretty well ready, we ordered our inventory today and am going to shop for some other things first thing in the morning. Wednesday, I will be having a party and feeding all the people who helped with the renos or are good customers for free. Any Dads who want to come are welcome.:yay:

Thurs and Fri are the busiest days of the year, Fish and chips for good friday is very popular. I will try to come and say hi soon. Wish me luck fellas, talk to you soon.

Opening weekend is going to be crazy!!:banana::yay:

good luck daddy o !!! :thumbsup2

I know I'm a few years older than a few here, but I didn't think I was that old! :eek:
I remember having a B&W TV. I didn't have cable until I left home my 4th year of college. My Dad still lives in the same place, and still doesn't have cable or satellite. We only had ABC CBS NBC and PBS growing up... and that was if the weather was clear. Now that the signals have went digital, Dad had to put his TV antenna up on his old C.B. tower. (about 300 ft in the air) So, now he can turn the antenna around to pick up the signals that are weaker than they were before. I went over and helped him rewire the roter to the controller in the house. I forgot how small that attic is. My back hurt for about a week after crawling around up there. :upsidedow (why isn't there an :achyback emoticon?)

Here's one that sounds like it will get some of you.... Growing up, you didn't have to use the first two digits of a phone number to call anyone in town. So, my number was 2-2994. I was out of high school before the phone company upgraded the system to where people had to use full phone numbers! :rolleyes1 Okay, I guess I'm not that old, just grew up rural.

We decided almost a year ago to give up cable. Partly for monetary reasons. But we found that our girls spend a lot more time playing, reading, going outside, etc. now that they don't have Disney Channel and Nick. We watch a lot of movies (Netflix) and they can watch alot of show online on Disney Channel, but they don't spend NEAR the time in front of the TV that they used to. :thumbsup2 (neither do DW and I)

I hope everything keeps going well for you! I doubt I'll make it for the opening, but am not opposed to food in the mail! :rotfl:

im guessing alot of it has to do with were you live also? we live an hour from new york city, an hour from philly so we probley got the cable, phone systems faster than if you lived in the mid west? maryanne and the professor, i forgot about them!!! wow, you dont see that show anymore, not even on reruns.but that is a good one!!!:thumbsup2

:lmao:

as you can tell i havent fiqure it out yet.:lmao:i would probley launch the space shuttle by mistake if i tried to multi post.:lmao:
Dave: In the bottom right corner of every post are three icons. The one in the middle with the quote marks and the little + sign is for multi-quotes. You can click on that one for every post you want to quote and they will all show up when you click on Post Reply. It took me a while to figure it out too. I think I used the technical advice thread!

All the best to you on your opening weekend! I remember an opening weekend at a hamburger joint I worked at in high school called McTavish's. It was locally owned and the owner was a nervous wreck. I was in charge of the milkshake machine opening night, so I had to keep filling it with buckets of white and chocolate milk. At one point, I was lifting up a bucket of chocolate milk to dump it into the top of the machine and he came up behind me yelling "Hurry up! We need the milkshakes!" I ended up dumping the bucket of chocolate milk on him, and he was wearing a white shirt and white pants! The moral: Don't serve milkshakes opening night! :lmao::rotfl::lmao: He did apologize to me later in the evening when things had quieted down so I didn't get fired. I ended up advancing to counter man before leaving. No raise with that; I still made $1 an hour. :eek:

Ok guys I was snooping around the "sister station" or Moms club this morning and saw that one of our fold has gotten caught spying. I thought it was quite funny!:lmao: On a lighter note, I think after reading a few pages that the mom's club has great potential. My wife is always telling me that she wished that there was a group of women on the boards that chatted the way the Dads do.

You can type your responses where I've shown in red. I also use the "Preview Post" button that is right next to the "Submit Reply". It will show you what your post will look like without actually posting it. You can then go back and make changes if something is wrong.

Perhaps... but she didn't correct that fact and let the ladies know it was her instead of you. At least I didn't see any correction when I went in to spy this morning. So maybe it was you after all :confused3 :lmao:

pppssssttt guys we have another birthday in the house:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Aaron :bday::bday:

hey guys,Think we could pull off a little road trip to go up to see our neighbor to the North?I think there is enough of us that live close enough to make the drive up for a long weekend, and pay a little visit to our fellow Dis Dad.Wouldn't that be a great road trip to go up and support Nick in his new venture? I don't think its that long of a drive, heck I will be driving out to Minnesota again this yr just to see a twins game then come back all in same weekend. So what would a trip a little further north be? Answer would be FUN!!!!
