As far as the guy who would not let his kid go into the store, not only should he be ban from the Dis Dads club, but if they ever go to WDW he should be forced for his entire visit to ride The Primevil Spin over and over, only allowed to get off to clean up protein spills, while the rest of his family enjoys there visit:lmao::scared1:. That should teach him :teacher: not to mess with child who loves Disney.

Wow.... you guys can be harsh. :rotfl2:

I'm more inclined to side with trennr, you never know, this guy may end having a daughter and find the true magic of Disney and come crawling here on hands and knees. Just think how much worse this world would be if you were a Dis Dad but weren't allowed to be a Dis Dad? For now though, off with his head.

And then, I almost cried. As we left, a couple with a young child were walking by the store. They guy said to his wife/girlfriend/baby mama "We ain't going in there. That's all Princess Floofy stuff. When you have a girl, you can go in there!" I hereby move to permanently ban that guy from ever joining the DIS Dad's Club.

I have two dds (8,5). When you become the dad of a little girl, a whole new set of rules goes off in your head. I would do anything for my dds, which includes going to a Floofy store.

With that said, either this guy is really great or a real dumb a!!. The comedian, Ralphie May, said it best that when it comes to relationships between men and women, you have two choices - (1) You can be right; or (2) you can be happy. Would you really get to be happy later if you said that to your significant other?

:lmao: I totally agree about the fact if you have a daughter you will be at there mercy! I'm thinking that Disney is holding back, if profits go down maybe they will start something for the boys, Like a Toy Story, Star Wars, Pirates or Prince themed dinners to cater to boys.

They started The Pirates League this year and when we were there it was jammin'.

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against all the themes they have for the girls, but I do feel they should do a little more for the boys.

I do wish there were more Disney Store options for DS3. But then, he finds ways to include himself

To be fair, the kid was less than a year old, so probably wasn't a big fan yet. That being said, I'm sure all of us were dressing our kids in Disney clothes on the day they were born. (Both my kids came home from the hospital wrapped in Pooh Bear blankets!)

I see your point. I hereby amend my previous motion to permanently ban this guy unless he begs, grovels, and buys us all beer. :drinking1

Agreed! I think it's a whole new set of rules no matter what gender your new child is. Before I had kids, a lot of things wouldn't bother me. After DD was born, if we went into a store where the A/C was set just a bit to cold I'd be just about ready to punch the manager to trying to give us all pneumonia. :rotfl2:

Mine does the same thing. Much less frequently now that he has his Buzz Lightyear costume. That or just straight running around the house naked as a jay bird. :confused3

Well I certainly hope it's not because of me... :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

I was actually looking at our plans for 2011 and really WANT to add another ticker, but then at the same time, I read stuff like that, so I don't!

I certainly get a little "ticker envy" whenever I read one of your posts. :worship:

But...keep an eye on mine...one never knows when those days may jump. :thumbsup2

Wow what a great thread. Would love to join the DIS DAD's Club. Here's a list of my qualifications: I have a dog named Disney , my office is pimped is disney stuff including a Mickey mosaic on the floor which took me 2 weeks to lay the tile, I've found out the hard way that beer and ebay don't go well together bu I cherish my Hand painted and signed Mickey and Donald cels. Always plan next trip on the way from last. Have theme park music in cd player as we speak for taking girls to school, I read the unofficial guide from cover to cover every year even hough the book doesn't change much and yes always a great read. But most important I'm a Dad with two beauiful girls DD6 and DD10 and yes both are brainwashed , Wife not so much work in progress. Anyway can't wait to read all the post starting at number one. It would be a honor to join your ranks. Thank you, Themouse1928

Oh yeah! Definitely need to see pics! Glad you found us... you are member # 426 :thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao:

Veteran character actor Paul Frees voiced the Ghost Host in the Haunted Mansion. He died in 1986. He also did voices in POTC, including the Auctioneer and was the narrator for "Adventures Thru Inner Space" at DL from 1967-1986.

Other Disney credits include narration work for a variety of Disney's anthology films, and had a screen role in the original "The Shaggy Dog".

Outside of Disney he was a prolific voice-over artist, including doing the Burgermeister in Rankin/Bass' "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" stop motion animation classic, and several voices in "Frosty the Snowman". He was multiple voices in "The Little Drummer Boy" too. Many other animated films tv shows, commercials and other specials were graced with his talents.

His career spanned over more than 40 years.

You da man:worship:

So, um, can I join this group?? .

:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer:

So I'm settling in to watch the showdown of USA vs Canada. Let's hope that the Maple Leaf will be represented proudly tonight.

Predictions? I'll say 5 -3 Canada.

Absolutely a great game. I just wish that Brodeur would remember that he's the goalie and not the 3rd defenceman.

I know - when was the last time you saw 3 fast breaks in a row? Holy Cow!

USA! USA!

USA USA USA

GGOOOAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!! :cool1:

Man, that was an incredible shot by USA!! Awesome game!

I have no comment.:mad::sad2::mad::sad2::mad::sad2:

That or just straight running around the house naked as a jay bird. :confused3

My younger ones a streaker too!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: He runs from the bathroom to his bedroom after a shower. I joke with the wife, he must get it from her side of the family.:lmao:

On a side note...the weather is starting to warm up down here...any of you guys headed in this week or next will get some decent temps...

And before the inevitable gets asked---it's Spring, it's Florida..it might rain--in fact, if it gets warm enough, it will rain...sometime, somewhere--but then again, it might not---Welcome to Florida...

I love some of the questions that get posted on here "What are the Chances of Rain in August"??? It might rain (storm), it might not--but it won't last all day (for the most part).

"How hot is it really in August"? (usually by someone from "up there":rotfl:)---considering 100% humidity, and the fact that most of Central Florida is glorified swamp land---oh, imagine Dante's Inferno and add a few degrees:lmao::lmao:--heck, WE don't like being out in the heat of the day, and we LIVE here---

And my all time favorite....."Possibility of Hurricanes...." Ok, we hang out creating a "land bridge" divide between the Gulf Stream of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico--the two warmest bodies of water in this part of the world, which breed and power Major Hurricanes on regular occasion (Remember Andrew, Hugo and Katrina--yeah, all "blew up" here--and let's not forget a few years ago when we went through every listed name and a few addtional "identifiers"--yeah we got hit with Hurrican Gamma) you might just get a storm or two from June to August. But you will know well in advance, and the state has not been blown to pieces (yet) so those too shall pass---

Ok, I'm off the soap box, just got asked one too many "how hot is it really" questions....Hot enough to make you cry for momma on a bad day:lmao::lmao:

Had to reset some passwords today. Yep, DDC criteria #84 is alive and well.:thumbsup2

I'm thinking I read somewhere that the Ghost Host voice (Paul Frees) was also the face on the broken statue of the quartet singing in the HM graveyard. Any truth to that?

In other news ... last fall my DW princess: laid down the "Wife Law" that we couldn't go back to WDW until we have taken a "real" vacation elsewhere. :scared1: :confused3 Last night she turned to me and said "I'm ready to go back to Disney World." We've only been back for 2 weeks! It was a proud moment for me!! Pardon me while I clear my throat and scratch my eyebrow. Yes!! She caught the Disney fever!!!!!

They did use his image as a singing bust as a tribute in the Eddie Murphy "Haunted Mansion" film, but not in the attraction.

VERY COOL about your wife. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Sorry, middlepat and Daddy-O. That was one of the most entertaining and exciting games I've ever seen. Too bad it didn't count for a medal...

I certainly get a little "ticker envy" whenever I read one of your posts. :worship:

:lmao: The phrase "ticker envy" has now entered my vocabulary. And that was an incredibly cruel trick you pulled with the receipt in the Disney Store. Naturally, I love it. :thumbsup2

I agree that there is a major inbalance between the gender-specific merchandise. Ours does have a lot of Nemo & Toy Story stuff for the boys, plus some Handy Manny stuff. And the last time I saw any adult merchandise was a clearance rack around Christmas.

Our store seems to balance the Princesses with the Cars/Toy Story/Wall-E stuff, so it seems ok boy/girl-wise. My daughter seems to prefer Pixar to Princesses anyway (love that kid). I've always thought they could do well selling theme park merchandise at the Disney Store. I know they want to keep it in demand and draw people to the parks, but why not put a few items in stores? Or even have a way for the Disney Store to order stuff you wish you'd picked up when you were in Florida/California. :confused3

Thanks for the welcome. It feels good to be in the company of my fellow Dis Dads. I'll get a picture of office uploaded soon. Thanks again, but I'm only on page 8 reading all the posts, got my work cut out for me . Themouse1928

Welcome!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I have a picture of my son (3 at the time) doing a tea party in a princess dress. As a dad, I don't know whether to find this hilarious or humiliating.
