Need suggestion for a quiet place

on the boat where I could sneak in between boarding time and stateroom opening time so I could feed DD.
She has a curious little mind so if the place isn't quiet she has a tendency to stop and start and stop and start eating. Which is really annoying and rather painful ... (I am bf-ing).

I'm hoping she'll tolerate our nursing shawl while we sit in the terminal and await boarding, but if not, well...birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim, babies gotta nurse.

I feel for you!
Here's my strategy. I'm going to feed her solid while we're on the terminal to hold her off. And then once we board I'm going to find a place to sit and hide while we're feeding her.
I would bfeed her at the terminal except I have a feeling she would flail around trying to look around while eating because everything is so different.

There are some lounge chairs at various places on decks 5 and 6 that are usually quiet. Good luck finding a good spot... Maybe one of the theatres would be open?

try the "secret" deck 7 aft or the deck 8 aft overlook.
there are so many more "important" things at which to look when one first boards I doubt there will be much / any traffic back there.

if neither of those work for you, consider asking at Flounders.

Hmm... don't you have to pass staterooms to get to those decks? I think the passages for those areas will be roped off until 1:30pm. But I could be wrong.

I thought of Flounders too, I could try that. We'll have to make sure not too many people are walking in and out or I might have the same problem as feeding in the terminal

I doubt that would be an option since it's an 'adults only' area.

I think Flounders would be the best bet. Don't they have different areas (for playing, for sleeping, different ages, etc.)? Maybe they can set you up in the sleeping area where it's meant to be nice and quiet.

The Cove Cafe is an adults only area.

Flounder's Nursery has an area where you can sit and feed. There are lounge chairs along deck 4 outside. As someone suggested, the BV theatre on deck 5 will be deserted. Diversions (deck 3 forward) will be open and unless there is a major sporting event, will be empty. There are some chairs by the elevators at deck 9 forward (outside the spa), as well as midship at decks 6 and 7 by the elevators.

On our last cruise (Sept 2009), we ate a quick meal at Parrot Cay, then while we were waiting for our room to be ready, we ended up in Diversions at the front of the ship (the sports bar). We (DH, DW, DS8) played a board game there, until the DVC meet-n-greet started (2:30pm, I think). We were the only people in there (besides the Disney staff setting up for the meet-n-greet) for about an hour, and the DCL staff didn't ask us to leave or anything, until the DVC meeting started. It's kinda dark and very quiet, a great spot for feeding a baby.

But back to the topic, I am not sure that the Theatre will be open, I know sometimes it is closed off...you could be surprised to find that your room would be ready, every cruise we have been on the room has been ready when we got on the ship regardless of the time we got there. If those don't work, I would definitely go to Flounders. GOOD LUCK...I remember those days!

there are always bathroom stalls too. Our favorite is the one on Rte 66, by the stairs towards the Cadillac Lounge. The toilets all have lids, so u can close it and and have a seat. A handicap stall would have plenty of room and the restrooms are spotless.

You can use the back stairs from the outside area at Topsiders / Beach Blanket Buffet to get to the aft outside areas. I would probably stay with the Flounders idea as my first line. Have a great cruise!

I know the spa is open for tours. Would they let you in an empty room long enough to nurse? Maybe if your cabin is ready they will bend the rules. IDK. Maybe call them. I am sure you are not the first person that has had this same problem. Maybe they have a system or something already in place.

a have a child who is highly allerguc to everything and had to nurse for a very long time. i never had a problem with a quiet, non-distracting area if needed. i'm the last person to suggest it is not ok to nurse public. i ate meals at fine dining restaurant with my child latched on and on one even noticed.
just helping out with a suggestion of quiet places to a mom new to nursing on a high stimulus and noisey area.
