I'm sure this has been asked before, so I apologize. I tried doing a search, but I must not be wording it close enough to hit gold.

We are doing DCL next year, and then spending one night at AKL after the cruise - before flying home.

If we use Disney transportation, can anyone tell me about what time we would get to AKL? I know things vary, just trying to get an idea.

Thank you in advance.

It depends on what time you choose to get off the ship. The buses to WDW will each leave as they fill up. If you get off the ship at 7:30, you'll hit a little line at Customs, but will be on the first bus to AKL and be there by about 9. If you choose to not get off the ship till 9, you'll again hit a little wait at Customs and as well as possibly being on the last bus which may go to MANY resorts (except for the last bus, they go to no more than 3 resorts normally). You may not arrive till 11! If you get off at 8, you would normally hit NO line at Customs and be on the bus and to AKL by 9:30 because you might wait a few minutes for the bus to fill.

Basically, you choose whether you want a small wait to get thru Customs or a small wait for the bus to fill (choose the bus filling--at least you are sitting without luggage, and sometimes there will be cartoons for the kids.

Other option--depending on your group size, you can arrange a private towncar/limo service to WDW for about $120 + tip. This will leave at the time YOU choose and go directly to your resort. The cost is about the same as DCL transfers for 4 people.

thank you for the information. this will be our first cruise - so I didn't realize you could choose what time you get off.

I'll look into the limos. There are 4 of us. I can just imagine my DDs eyes if they were to get to ride in a limo.

thank you again!!

Booking a limo will cost more than booking a towncar, and isn't needed for your family size. It will be done thru the same company.

Book the smallest vehicle that will handle your family and luggage...then enjoy if you get upgraded to a fancier vehicle! Or meet another family at the cruise meet section of the boards and share a fancier vehicle.

Other considerations--a car service will allow you a 15 minute stop at a grocery or wal-mart if needed.

I would also recommend the towncar/limo service for your size. I'll be taking DCL transport myself as it is just me and one other.

The DCL transfer bus will cost you each $35pp for a one way trip from ship to WDW. As mentioned....a towncar or even a rental car would be less expensive.

Cape Canaveral....that is the one we used this past September. If you are booking at their website the Location Code is CC5. Avis is P3F. Orlando airport location code is MCO.
