Rip, Ride, Rockit!

RRR sounds like Universal's version of Epcot's Test Track. That ride still breaks down!
The only thing RRR has on TT is that RRR isn't shut down immediately in the slightest drizzle. Heck, I've seen them run it in a downpour as long as there is no lightning.

I'll bet anyone a quarter that they'll never get the magic carpet working properly. They should just go to a SheiKra style double loading station.

Looks like it's not even running today. Not listed on the Wait times website.

Pardon my amatuer status at these things but could someone provide a link for a wait times website?

I have been trying to find something like that for a while. I always thought it would be nice to know what I am facing when I decide to, maybe, make that 15 minute ride to the park. LOL

Thanks!

No...The Express lane is not open.

I grabbed your post Metro West cause it seems with that many posts you may have an answer. What are the plans will they have FOTL and any idea on when? Are there any other options? Specials, tours etc...I have one son who is a coaster nut, he's going to school next fall for engineering and so far wants to design coasters.

Thanks...

Supposedly...the Express lane will open once the moving floors are in operation. As far as I know...they are not working right now and there is no guess as to when they will be operational. That's my guess at this point.

Thank You for the info...I'll keep my fingers crossed.:)

I have finally had time to post since my trip. My biggest disappointment was on HRRR. Well not actually "on", but rather in line but never getting on. Every time I stood in line for over half an hour, then they closed the ride. I did this three times one day. I even tried the single rider line, but was told the wait would be at least an hour. The stand-by line was only 45 minutes. I was so disappointed. I have to get back soon so I can ride. But I want to make sure it is running first.

Major Bummer.

I read on Orlando United that the moving walkways do work but the crews need to be able to dispatch faster in order to be able to use the moving walkways.

Hey Everyone: I thought you might be interested in my review of RRR posted on the blog.

Thats a really fair review Dave!

I had the snafu with the music on my second ride and the stupid electronica music stunk. Good thing was on my first ride I ran with Motley Crue so I knew how good it could be with the right music.

And therein lies the problem and the reason I am willing to wager a quarter that the walkway will never be used. Lord knows I've spent a long time cooling my heels in that loading station in the single riders line watching them trying to load people in a timely fashion. Able bodied people seem to freeze in terror at the prospect of pulling down the lapbar. Then someone chickens out on a regular basis so it has to be opened so they can bail. Then add people with special needs into the mix who have to board more slowly. Think of all the times at WDW that the walkway for Spaceship Earth or the Haunted Mansion is stopped to allow more time for someone who needs it. Works okay on those rides. On a coaster, not so much. The walkway was one of those things that must have sounded good when the design team was guzzling down drinks in some bar after work one day and scribbling stuff on cocktail napkins. Ain't gonna work in real life when you actually have to load people.

Haha, really? I want to hear more about that.
I guess it's because the RRR restraint doesn't look like any other coasters. People sit there like deer in headlights with it sticking up till the Team Members come by to put it down. I like to leave mine a little loose for airtime, but sometimes they mash it down on me out of habit when I have it adjusted just right because they are so used to closing it for people. They have trouble opening it to get out too; When I do the single riders line, I literally always open mine and climb out of my seat before whoever is next to me has even managed to lift the thing.

Some of the songs are actually too quiet. Once when I picked one of the bonus tracks (can't remember which one it was), it was way too soft and I could hear the music from the person next to me. That was very annoying. Now I stick mostly with "Pump It" from the Black Eyed Peas which does an effective job of blocking everything else out.

I didn't think the music was that loud. I was actually worried it would be too soft or too loud but it was actually just right.

I agree!!

The music has been just right for me.

I find this walkway thing so amusing. When I read up on the ride I could not wait to see this in action. When we went.....no action. And I do agree. Even for me, the first time I froze a little bit pulling things down. I was fine after that but you have to figure, at least for a while, 90% of riders will be first timers.

The line queues all the way up to the end of the walkway, ostensibly since they have not figured out how to use it yet. But, it is a pretty long walkway. I have to believe they can unload way back and start loading with more room to give for delays. All they would need to do is bring the end of queue back down the walkway.

That does not seem too hard!

I still see people struggle getting on the Haunted Mansion. I would love for this to finally get working though.

We'll be there Thursday... it wasn't open when we were there in July, so we're looking forward to this ride. But, I don't want to wait 60+ minutes either.
