Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Thanks for the driving kind words too! It is stressful! BA said she was nervous riding to school alone with Ab this morning but that she drove very well.

Dawn--nothing good about car wrecks. Do you have a rental car? Was her insurance actually expired or just the card?

I can't imagine the stress of her driving on you, momma. I'm scared for B to walk home!

She has insurance. They are just getting back to me, though. :sad2:

speaking of insurance---just by adding abby, the bill went from $414 to $840 every 6 months. (and that's with good grade and drivers ed discount)

CE---dang, that's bad. So what are you gonna do?

Well, I called AT&T and they've switched me back to the old phone for now (prorating my iPhone data plan, etc.) until I figure it out.

D just laughed at me and said, "Get another one," which was nice - it's just that I have that mom-guilt about spending more money on a toy for me. :rotfl:

Oh, dear lord.

Evening all !! Interviews went well , no weirdos this time!!!:lmao:

Oh, good! :rotfl:

It's a crow:rolleyes1:lmao:
If thats a crow, then im not coming to visit you. How big are your ravens then!?:scared1:

I went to grab my iPhone to use the timer for the kids' math - they love it - and it slipped and fell onto the kitchen floor, face-down. It's got the protective cover, but with the touch screen, it's not like you can really cover the screen, and it's just shattered. It still functions, but there are poky bits of glass and so I'm not going to be using it for long.

I know someone that dropped their iphone and it shattered, like that. They put the platic screen protector over it to hold the glass in place and not be pokey. It still works, but with cracks all over. Do they still offer the old 3g for $99?

Yeah, D suggested that - I have the film stuff - but it's so poky as to be dangerous, I think. He tried to "flick" the screen and got a splinter. I think even the film would either render it totally "unseeable" or the pokes would poke through. ;)

It works fine, otherwise - but when you can't touch a touch screen, well... :rotfl:

I have to pin them down on the replacement. I bought this in July after the 3GS came out, but I bought a new (not refurb'ed) 16gig 3G for $149. Since they're telling me they'll replace it for $199, I'm not sure which model they're offering me at that price. I hesitate to pay more for the same phone than I did then, you know? Though I do understand that in July it was the "upgrade" price rather than "full" price. Who knows? I need to call them back, but D is just putting the kids in bed. ;)

If the weathers fine David wants to go to a park near us to watch the stags rut tomorrow, that always scares me a bit so I'll be either praying for rain or keeping my distance :rotfl2:
That is the oddest pastime, Jo. Ly though. (I mean, despite you being slightly perverted. :rotfl2:)

LOL - my DH cut the grass for the last time today and put the lawn mower in the shed and replaced it with the snow blower in the garage, so he's all ready to go!
::yes:: Sadly, this is what we're doing too...

OK :rotfl2: I just saw this today, haven't had time to read any yet but you may like it http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2007/12/alphabetical-listing-of-recipes.html
Thanks for reposting that! I had it, but lost it!!!

I am going to be an Auntie again! :cool1: In June, 3 days before Reid's birthday. She got a soft positive, whatever that is and has to do a blood test as well, has that stupid insurance that won't let your doctor draw your blood so she has to go to a lab.
Yay!!!! Congratulations, Auntie Angela!!! And, I see they've finally told Uncle Mooch. Thank goodness!

what's a soft positive test?? Just a little pregnant??
LMBO!!!

So, thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. Luckily, Baylie's off tomorrow so we can rest.
So scared when I saw your text! Almost choked on my donut. Glad you're sort of ok...

Can I just pass out now? :faint:
Yes

Thanks! I can't wait to get home from work and dig into the yummy turkey dinner that Mom is cooking up. Turkey, mashed potatoes and homemade rolls! Yum yum!
Ooooh you inspired me to buy turkey and all the fixings. Making it tomorrow for dinner. Happy Turkey Day, Lessa!

They weren't rutting though but the Stags were rounding up their does, it was quite sweet :rotfl2: D is now mowing the grass and hoping it will be the last time, I need to replant some plants that I moved for the deck to be done!
Here we call that something else....

Well, Ab got her license....I cried on the way over....I told her it felt like the day I dropped her off at kindergarten...only with more worry.
No advice here. NotBob pointed out that I don't even let SD use the stove and he's getting his license. :confused3 There is no way, in my mind, that I can ever be ok with him driving around, on the roads, with heaven knows who....
Sorry. I know that probably isn't helping you. Rest assured though....girls are much more concientous drivers than boys! :thumbsup2

What is everone else up to?
Responding to 8,000 posts...busy little beavers you were....

Sure, sure... I say I'm going to not be on much this weekend, and you guys get super chatty. I see how it is. :lmao:
Right. What she said.

Dinner done. Phillies on. Jimmy bathed already and Jim and he are playing chess:lmao:
My boys both play chess. It's a GREAT diversion at family events and adult things where the kids get bored if there aren't other kids. Most adults can at least play a child....

The eye doctor went well enough. Woody's fine - no surprise there. Buzz is slightly farsighted, but not enough to need a prescription at this point.
Good news!

well, i'd have to disagree, you seem like a kind person..

i really can't believe they didn't give you any pain medicine. i saw a guy get dilaudid for a 1st degree sunburn.... crazy! oh course the doctor that gave it to him, was nicknamed the candy man by the er staff.. lol
I must meet this "Candy Man" you speak of.... LOL
We miss you around here. What have you been up to!?

Hi Focker Friends!

I'll be back as soon as I can. Hugs to all of you!
Hi Kristel!!! So sorry about Rocky's mom. I know this has been hard on you too. You're a great friend for helping her and rescheduling your trip. Glad to hear that Doug's procedure went well also. Glad to see you back here!

I didn't touch my school work all weekend so now I have a Biology lab report to write up, a short 250 word paper to write and an Ethics test to study for. :headache: Why did I not do any of this while I was at work this weekend?
I saw you finished with one word to spare! Good girl!

Many of you have seen and already posted on FB, but my dad had his post-chemo post-test follow-up appointment this morning, and they got fantastic news! :thumbsup2
Saw at FB, but news this good deserves TWO comments! LOL
So happy that the news was GOOD!

Frankly, I'm feeling really, really down. I know - it could be so much worse. But I work out; I eat right; I take good care of my body. Is it really all for nought? With 40 in sight, am I doomed to falling apart at the seams?! I need to go mope for a while. :guilty:
I totally understand. It's awful when you feel like the things happening to you are out of control. Take a deep breath. Mope if you need to. We're here.

I don't like this. Advice appreciated.
I would do the exact same thing you did.

Anyway, I need to get moving, but am not feeling very motivated. It's cool this morning, but at least it's sunny, which helps a little. ;)
Doesn't the sun make ALL the difference?

Last night F&W was stll crowded but not nearly as bad as Saturday. Kool and the Gang was a fun show although my friend was a stick in the mud and wouldn't go down to dance with all the ladies. She claimed she can't dance. I can't either but that's not the point! I did see Jordan for just a minute. We were on her was out and she was trying to close her pin station. She's thinking about extending her time here, and I hope she does. She is definitely as asset to Disney and the type of CM they want/need. :thumbsup2
Glad you had fun, but what a bummer. If you ever want a horrible dancer to hang with you at F&W, I'm your girl. LOL

My head is much better today, so here's hoping for a better Wed. :thumbsup2
Good. That headache sounds awful. I'd sob too. Good luck with the refi....wonder if we could do that up here???

As the old woman of the group, I completely understand
You're the old woman of the group?????

I'm in such a bad mood today. So, skip my post if you're not in the mood...
Dr. Mel says don't listen to Dawn when she's cranky. LMBO!!!

Just had the chimney swept so we're ready for fires again, good job as it's cold I won the golf competition yesterday and cut my handicap too :yay:
Yay on the handicap, but bummer about the non-singing Chimney Sweep.

I've been thinking about my trip to NYC to see my sister and just wondered what you thought.
Whoa, I've been on both sides of this issue SO many times. I feel for you. However, since I'm trying to HELP you, I'll say this. I'd wait if I were you. I have always hated that feeling of going to see someone who is busy with their lives and I'm just *THERE* you know? It's a horrible feeling. Wait till the girls are a bit older and you can be reasonably assured of a SMALL amount of attention from her.

I read, but I didn't quote, sorry. My teeth are KILLING me! :headache:
Sorry, T. That sounds HORRIBLE. Does ice cream or cold stuff help?

T said:
Where the heck's Mel?:confused3
I'm here. Been busy, for a post-op person...LOL
Thanks for asking!

angry words....angry words......angry words.....

LOL...Mel's still avoiding cranky Dawn. LY!

So... CURSE WORDS, CURSE WORDS, CURSE WORDS!!!!!!!!!
Oooooooh! Dang! Sorry!

*******************
That has to be a record for quotes for me... Whew!
Nothing new to report. Eye is slightly less gruesome, slightly more painful. Dr. Seigel says it's healing great, and he'll see me on the 23rd. I guess that's good.

NotBob is home this week, so LOTS of together time. Ugh. (LOL, you guys know I love my DH, but tooooo much together time is not good) He's taking the boys to Cedar Point for the weekend though, so I'll be home ALONE all weekend!!!! YAY!!!!

It's cold and dreary here already. I'm already sick of winter and it's not here yet.

MEL:banana:

Oooh, how nice! :goodvibes :rotfl: D is off this weekend because we have the playgroup dinner party on Saturday. Which would be fine if he wasn't flying Friday now - so I get to prep all by myself. Yeehaw. :rotfl2:

You're the old woman of the group?????

I think I am second to Rosie...not sure how old Denise is????:confused3

:woohoo:

It's cold and dreary here already. I'm already sick of winter and it's not here yet.

Me either and the rest of this week is going to be awful:sad2:

I take it you don't have insurance on it!:confused3

No, and I don't remember them offering me any protection plan or anything. :confused3 I don't always go for them, but I did for my laptop and I can't imagine I would have turned it down if they had asked. I've never had phone insurance through AT&T, either - never needed it before, but still... :rotfl2:

wow, Mel--you get the "most quotes" award! :lmao: And we're glad you can see well enough to read the quotes!

Ab just called--she was at the school homecoming variety show...came out to drive home....and had left her lights on. :headache: Luckily, 2 guys are helping her--she was glad I showed her where the jumper cables are in her emergency kit.

We always get the insurance...since I have a tendencies to lose or drop (in the toilet) my phones;)

Uh oh! :headache:

Good morning all. Wow, last to post last night and first this morning...I gotta get a life:rolleyes:

Boys are off to work and school:thumbsup2 I have to run to the pharmacy and then do a drive by of the place Jimmy usually gets his haircut. Not sure if they closed or what is going on but nobody has answered the phone for the last two days. He has to get his haircut this weekend, school pictures next week. THen I may go hang out at Borders for an hour!:thumbsup2

I have to finish the laundry and do some minor cleaning.

Hope everyone has a good day:goodvibes

=================

TE - Did Ab make it home ok last night?

yes Ab made it home fine! She said the 2 freshmen guys who helped her seemed very excited to assist! It was actually a good lesson in a safe spot--something we all do---and one of those things that I always reminded her when I was driving with her. But it sinks in more when you forget yourself!

I gotta head to work--nother day of inspections.:headache:

I'll take that award!

Well, Gus is home sick. SD went to school and is recovering from his cold. AND, Notbob told me he's coming down with something!!
I'm not sure how riding roller coasters all weekend is going to go for them, but it's paid for, so they're going!

Fortunately, they ALL have the day off tomorrow and can sleep and maybe get well.

I'm going to do some LIGHT cleaning. The house isn't awful, despite not being cleaned for 2 weeks, but I have a friend coming for lunch and I at least want to vacuum and mop. I'll be careful though! :thumbsup2

Janet, you reminded me that SD needs a haircut! Thanks!

TE, that's a good lesson to learn, as you said. Happened to me in H.S. when I was working at Sears. All the cute boys ran to help. Too bad they wouldn't if it happened now....LOL

Can't be any worse than me...locking the keys in the car, and the car was still running. ALthough that was a year or so ago:lmao:
