***2009*** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED NOV. 8

Hello-
My BF and I are coming to EPCOT on Wed. Oct 7 only- not for the wine & food festival, but to see Better Than Ezra. Really!! We are flying in from Mass, just for this.
My ? is: I thought this might be a "light crowd" day until I came across this thread!! Do you think a Wednesday won't be so bad? I just figured Oct in the middle of the week would be quieter- I never knew about this festival and it's following. TIA!

I think you will be fine on a Wed., weekends are usually pretty crowded but weekdays are generally fairly light.

I wil also be there for Better Than Ezra and completely psyched about it!

My daughter is there now & said that the F&W kiosks started going up last night! :thumbsup2 WoooHooo! :dance3: 2 more weeks to go! :goodvibes

that reminds me I'll be going down there in 2 weeks. Heck I just got back. October will be a tough travel month.

I'm not taking any chances. I'm still going to try to get there early enough to avoid being stuck in Palmhenge. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting some first-hand accounts of the procedure from the guinea pigs attending opening weekend.

I'm looking forward to seeing the reviews of the new system too ....We have a couple of seminars schedueled "back-to-back" I hope that one of us (DH) doesn't have to leave early to secure our seats.....pirate:
Wonder how they will handle "no-shows" will there be empty seats...or will they re-sell????
I looked at th resse site yesterday and it looks like there are still openings at every seminar ($8 price)
35 days ..:woohoo:

So this stuff hasn't started yet? I've been bumping my "beer passport" thread thinking it started last week!!!

We have to wait til the 25th...???? Two more weeks!?!?!? ;):rotfl:

Well, I'll be in the Ditch (the word "cava" translated to "ditch" in one dictionary I was using) for the tequila tasting on 10/17, and whenever I get a spare few minutes probably...

Well I've officially overscheduled myself for 9/27.....10-12 Sweet Sundays, 1-2 American Brownie Co Seminar, 3-5 Tequila Tasting at the Ditch. I'll be the lady in the corner in a sugar & alcohol coma.:rotfl:

Wow! I see at least two other DISsers that will be there on Sept 27 (my 31st bday).

Only one seminar left at the discounted rate so it looks like my options are paying full price or not participating.

I'm undecided between the abita beer, american brownie co. and Opus 39. Ideas?

Last time we did F&WF we ate dinner (R&C)..big mistake. This time we want to leave plenty of room for food/beer/wine sampling...and we're going to make an effort to try something from each booth.

As far as wines go, I like them sweet. I love champagne. plum wine, Riesling and white zif. Can anyone recommend wines on this years menu that fit my tastes...and are not to be missed!? :)

Has anyone attended one of the free authentic taste seminars? Is it worth your time? Any samples? Curious about the "fizzy grapes."

Has anyone finished making a rating template for the food booths that they would be willing to share? I've tried a couple of times and I keep locking up my computer. I like the index card idea...they can all be hole punched and placed on a key chain hoop.

TIA...getting excited now! :drinking1

OK... one question......We are going to Epcot on Sept 24th. I know F&W is officially opening on 25th but I was told 24th will be a soft opening. Any been there before for this?

I'll be at that Tequila tasting too, so I'll be sure to bring a long stick and poke you from across the room if you start to fall over.:thumbsup2
