Are there any cons to online checkin? I think we might do the same for our trip.

No cons that I know of... It was pretty easy...

I asked for the confirmation number, the last name, resort, and arrival date...

Then it pulled up our ressie...

We clicked online check-in...

And then it had us fill out the following...

Address
Phone Number
Estimated Arrival Time
Estimated Departure Time
Credit Card Info (if you want...)
email address
phone number to reach you while on vacation


Pretty basic stuff, the same things they ask at check-in...

At the 1 week mark (Sept.7th)
Order water from Costco DONE
Do online check-in for resort DONE
Get all electronics charged DONE
make sure all memory cards are empty DONE
Type up itinerary for both sets of parents and Jordan DONE

At the 2 day mark(Sept.13th)
Clean out the fridge
Mark sure all laundry is done
Buy Jordan's food *Just need produce, bread, and milk*
Get Jordan a house key DONE

At 1 day out(Sept.14th)
Go to bank, make any deposits, get cash *Just need to go get some smaller bills*
Delta check-in and print boarding passes
Pack all electronics and chargers *started this with things we won't use before we leave*

that's usually about the point where I can no longer focus on anything but what I'll be doing in x amount of days in WDW!!

My parents just got a call from my brother!!!

I can breathe a sigh of relief now!!!

He is in Afghanistan, has to carry around an AK-47 at all times... Talk about a reality check...

He has asked for chap stick and a blanket, so I am going shopping when Terry gets home... He said he is sunburned pretty good so I will pick up some sunscreen also... And of course his snack items that I know he likes...

He will be able to get internet, it's 70 bucks a month but he has to wait for his day off to get it... He is not sure when that will be... So I am not counting on a phone call before we leave, but now that I know he has made it safely to Afghanistan, I will calm down...

My parents said he sounds really good...

He has cell phone service but it costs 4 bucks per minute...

Edited to say I need to listen better! He has to carry a M-16 not an AK-47... Got my guns mixed up...

I just called Disney...

I was looking at my calendar and noticed that if the docs do not show up on Tuesday then My TA will call Wednesday and they say 2 days for them to be overnighted, well that is Friday... So if they don't come Tuesday we have one more shot to get them...

At first she didn't want to talk to me since it was through a travel agent, but she said considering the circumstances she would call guest services and see what she could do...

They shipped out yesterday... I am suppose to have them Tuesday...

Of course, we have heard this all before...

WOOHOOO that your parents talked to your bro. You guys should look into Skype to talk to him on the 'phone' over the internet. I'm pretty sure that's how my one friend talks with his family in Iraq. I can't believe he has to pay for internet?! Really!?!?! Isn't being over there fighting for our country enough payment?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but we are a mother/daughter team heading to WDW for the 1st time on September 18th from Eastern Washington. We are flying out of PDX at 6a.m. Therefore we need a recommendation for a good hotel close to the airport. Also, how early should we arrive for that flight time?

Okay, back to our regular scheduled programming......

If you are driving to PDX, and leaving a car, I would highly recommend a park and fly package... Most of the hotels around PDX offer that... We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites Portland Intl' Airport... For $135, it covers the room and parking for 14 nights... For just parking at PDX it was going to be $140... The hotel will also shuttle you to and from the airport, so that is a bonus... Another plus is they have an indoor pool which is open 24 hours ...

Stay away from Best Western because they don't start shuttle service until 8am... Stay away from Ramada cause it is just a dump...Radisson is supposed to be nice, but I didn't check into their shuttle service... Clarion is also nice, and offers a 24 hour shuttle service....

You are supposed to arrive 2 hours ahead of your flight time, so 4am for a 6am flight... We have the same time flight as you... You could breeze right through and be at your gate, but we do have a lot of business travelers so I would allow the full 2 hours to get through security...

Ugh! you have no idea how good it feels to know he made it to the base! I have been walking around with a knot in my stomach for days...

Okay so in my brother post I said he has to carry around a AK-47, well I got my guns mixed up, it's a M-16 he has to carry...

My Dad has been teasing me about my lack of assault rifle knowledge ever sense...

Then I figured out why I got it mixed up...

My Mom just had a procedure done on Friday and she was in an outpatient clinic and I went done and sat with my Dad during it and took a bunch of movies for my Mom to watch over the weekend since she has to stay down...

We went just chatting since we never get the chance by ourselves... Well, he proceeds to tell me all about the gun he just bought and he has not told Mom yet... AK-47!!! So that is where that gun came into my mind from and he didn't want Mom to know he bought it when we realized my mistake and so he totally let me look like a dumb butt....

He should have told her when we got her out of the clinic cause she had just gotten out of post op and was all sorts of drugged up...

I was promised a pony... And a goat... I am going to name it Billy... Get it... Billy Goat...

9 DAYS!!!

I can't believe how fast this is all going!!!

The kids don't know we are headed for the airport the night before... They are going to love that... They are easy to please...

My goal for this week is to go through all of my kitchen cupboards so when Jordan opens a cupboard door nothing falls out of the cupboard... That's what happens when you have a 10 year old empty the dishwasher when he would rather be playing football... Or when you let my husband empty the dishwasher...

Just now catching up on your PTR! I hope the travel documents come through for you when they're saying they are... that's a stress you don't need!

(I lived in southern Oregon till about 4 1/2 years ago; I miss the cooler weather! lol)
