A co-worker of my husband is going to Disney and staying at the Poly in early October. She claims they received an email with a PIN code for 40% off the room AND Free Dining! They had to choose from the Poly, CR or GF, with a 7-night minimum.

I dont' think I believe this. She really has no reason to lie, but until I see the email with my own two eyes, I'm highly doubtful.

Has anyone else heard of such a thing?:confused3

I got a pincode for October and it only said 40% off. Now what exactly am I supposed to do with a pincode for 10/1-10/31 when I'm getting back from my trip on 9/6?

Wow, if she really did get it I hope she is taking it! Maybe because there is a 7 night minimum rather than the normal 3 like most offers. She had better call quick, and confirm the offer & book, before she loses the chance.

Oh - she booked it alright - directly with Disney.
I've just never heard of such a "double-discount" before.

I haven't either. That's an awesome deal. I'd stay deluxe (I want either the Poly or Contemp) if I had a deal like that come across!

i received this pin code offer yesterday, but it's for value...not sure what/if there is any savings on the hotel...guess i'll have to figure it out. Although I wont be using this offer. I'm just happy I got a pin code!! This is the first one I've ever received so I'm looking forward to more.

I have always a been told that you can only have 1 discount at a time. If you get the room then not the dining. If its true., wish I would have gotten it.

This is the PIN that is out right now for the regular DDP (instead of the QSP that is on the GP free dining offer) for the values. It gives you the TS meals if you weren't going to do the upgrade... or it saves about $10 per adult & $3 per child, per night in the hotel if you were planning on upgrading your plan.

well, guess it could be. The bounceback offer in the room last September (2008) was for Free Dining discount at most resorts but there was a special offer on there that did allow a 30% discount + Free Dining at select Disney villas. (think you had to book studio villa at SSR or OKW to get the double-dip discount.) I think that bounceback required a 3 night minimum...so they could have offered an even better deal for a 7 night minimum.

Good for them...that kind of double discount would be a very sweet deal!

Well that is just all kinds of awesome! YAY for your friends! The Poly discounted AND FD, sounds like a fantastic vacation is in the works!

You can only have one discount at a time... but the offer has the 'stacked' discounts. She is getting two discounts for one PIN. Had she only gotten a 40% off room, then she couldn't do the FD that is out there for the GP in addition to the 40% off, because that would be trying to use 2 codes at once.

This is a great offer, & I'm with you in that I would love something similar!

I might love something similar, but even with 40% off, I can't afford GF, Poly or CR f0r 7 nights! Maybe that's why the discount was so steep - maybe they're having trouble booking the $400 or $500 rooms at rack rate.

maybe they're having trouble booking the $400 or $500 rooms at rack rate.

I don't know.... I'm trying to get a GF for Dec. 3-7 and it is FULLY booked... no rack room even available, let alone a discount. I've got a CR right now, but I'm keeping my eye out of GF and I'll change the clients ressie if something comes up (I'm hoping around the 45 day mark).

I got a pin yesterday for 40% select resorts in November. (I'm already going in November with free dining.)
Under the *SEE IMPORTANT DETAILS*part I clicked and got the spiel that this could not be added to any other discount or group rates.
I guess we'll see. Best of luck.

Anything is possible.During the Free Dining Bounceback last year we were allowed 30% off and FREE dining, but like a PP said you had to choose from SSR or OKW DVC only.So I suppose it could be possible

I call shennanigans on this. Get a hold of the email....

Exactly. I don't believe Disney is going to start promoting double dips at the deluxe hotels ...it makes no sense, business-wise.
I wouldn't waste a second even thinking about this. The only thing that is missing from this "offer" :rotfl::rotfl: is that it's for a guaranteed booking in the Cinderella's castle suite with Mickey as your butler.

I guarantee what happened is it says something like "save up to 40% with free dining" meaning saving on the cost of meals.

Here's the text of the email I got. Says I received it in celebration of my birthday (which, obviously, is in October). However, without calling I have no idea what it's for: I assume hotel only, but it is all levels, only mods, only budget.... who knows. :confused3
