Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

So what I'm hearing is ...

JUST DO IT!!!!

:lmao:

I think I can persuade a certain husband that two signature dinners are warranted because we kept getting scheduled out of them on past visits.

Maybe we'll just go to Citricos on my birthday ... even though that's so last year. :rotfl2:

Ok, y'all, I'm almost out of here! Getting a shower and then right to bed. Just pray for safe travels for us (the older I get, the more nervous I get..).
I promise to take lots of pictures for everyone! We're back late on the 3rd, so see you guys all on the 4th!

Safe Trip and have a wonderful time!

My understanding is that we'll be locked at 3,750 posts ... roughly 250 pages.

I was going to try to start a new one this weekend just to be on the safe side ... wouldn't want us to not have a place to chat with each other. :goodvibes

Also ... anyone have any thoughts on the Flying Fish siggie dinner vs. Blue Zoo's?

I think my problem is that I want to do both but am having a hard time justifying it. :rotfl2:

I see you have already picked both as I come late to the party again but .. Flying Fish is the one I wish we were arriving for! :flower3:

Brenda - What about Kouzzina for your birthday?

It's a good suggestion but I don't know if I'm going to like the food options there (not a big fan of Greek-style food) and I don't know if it's even going to be open.

I'm toying with the idea of Wolfgang Puck's sushi bar for a fishie good time!

I'm greedy ... what I'd really like is to pick up one more if we were going to be arriving in time for the Raglan Road signature dinner. :lmao:

Not greedy .. I just asked Jason if we could extend our trip to the whole festival :confused3 I mean why do we have to choose!?

Ok... I am SO far behind... I'm gonna see myself comin around the bend soon...

I have to go and get some sleep... I will be back to catch up tomorrow...

(you have been warned... :lmao:)

You probably already left, but have a safe and magical trip. :goodvibes

Someone might have already posted this, but I didn't see it...

http://land.allears.net/blogs/allearsteam/2009/07/a_conversation_with_mary_ann_h.html

It's an All Ears blog with Marianne Hunnel, manager of culinary programs for the Food and Wine Festival.

If you haven't read it, it might give you some ideas on what's being offered this year...

Rearranging plans is half the fun, right? :rotfl2:

That re-arranging thing is driving me crazy right now! :lmao: I read that article a few days ago when it was posted in the official F&W thread on the restaurant boards - I thought it was really interesting and it was a nice teaser to this week's release of hard info.

And my husband is no help at all ... he just keeps telling me to make ADRs and F&W reservations for whatever I want. I love him but I need a restraining hand or I'm going to go waaaaaay overboard. :lmao:

I have to leave for work soon (drat ... no powerball win, again) but I wanted to let you guys know that I think I will start the second thread tonight after I get home. Might as well be a little ... forethoughty (I hate the word proactive). :rotfl2:

And ... right now the practical side of me is winning in the F&W wars ... if we booked both siggie dinners on top of the other events we'd be spending a mortgage payment (before taxes) on food and wine. That's a bit rich for my blood.

I think I may just leave well enough along until I know what we are able to book and then tweak some more from there.

Don't you guys hate this back and forth? I'm not a libra for nothing. :lmao:

BTW, Deb ... that's currently my plan, you smart lady, you! I'm hoping to book the Bluezoo dinner on the 16th and have dinner at Flying Fish on my birthday. It would certainly make picking up a cake a little easier.

I'm good  Our wedding cake that the Boardwalk Bakery did was very good and it was a basic chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

I'll bet the food at Bluezoo will be mostly fish for the signature dinner right? I'm trying to pick one event to do during the weekend.

Hi to Bendy & all her friendies!

I've been MIA on here for quite some time! I know many of you were praying & sending good wishes for me. I had my surgery last Wednesday & I am doing very well! I feeling darned good, but I am house bound for at least 6 weeks recovery. I wanted to thank all of you (especially our hostess Brenda) for thinking of me!:grouphug:

I don't know what's been going on with y'all, but I'm sure everyone is getting excited for F&W!! I know I am! Amazing that the schedule is out already. My only problem now is that DH keeps trying to estimate the cost of everything we want to do! :scared: His last estimate was somewhere around $3200 for all the wining & dining. Then I informed him of the $8 charge for wine seminars & food demos!

I am so glad to read that you are on the mend!! :goodvibes

Am I right that ADR bookings for V&A are also 90 days out? Regular room, not Chef's Table... We are going to try for Christmas Eve dinner there, I think. We booked a moderate for Christmas with the thought that the money we save will pay for the meals!

Welcome back! Glad you're on the mend! :thumbsup2
I'm glad I only have me to worry about with the cost of the events. They don't seem as costly when you're only booking for one person.

Yes, everything's at 90 days now.
