9/12 great article ! Who am I to say no to going to WDW?

I am sorry you have unpleasant memories of your last trip. My last visit to WDW world have memories I would like to block, it was too commando, so to erase the those memories I have decided to make new memories with a slower pace trip in September. I think you need to start planning your next trip, with lessons you have learned.

Your experience on the bus have made me more aware of the people standing. My husband and I do not have children, and by the time we started going to WDW with his family the youngest was 10. My husband and I along with my nephews have always given up our seats, but reading your report, along with other reports with kids has given me a new understanding.

Sorry to hear about your bus incident. That is just awful no one would offer up Em a seat. I can remember many a times when my boys were little that other people on the bus would either get up or squish together to let the little ones sit down.

Hope the magic comes back ...

It does.. we had no more issues!

I know what you mean, Laura! Unfortunately, even at WDW everything can't be perfect all the time, so it's okay to tell us about the meltdowns and bad situations -- it makes the rest of us feel better when are own trips aren't all pixie dust and happiness. ;)

I just prayed hard that things got better...

I am hoping for some more magic for you all!!!! Can't wait for more!

Tomorrow I up to start DHS!

And I don't think people have to give up seats. However being told to watch for a baby in an aisle is just insane... and when a 3 year old is tired.. sitting would have helped!

Oh gosh, I'm finally all caught up! Sorry Hanna got upset about losing the tooth but I loved the picture of her with the gap. You need to post another now that she is even gappier! (I know, it's not a word...)
Emily pulling on that sword gave me quite a laugh! What's with people on Disney buses? Can the be any more thoughtless? I hate the thought of Em crying all the way back.
Glad the girls liked the rings, I took a bunch to Vegas and they were quite a hit there, people kept asking where we got them. I could have made a bundle....:rotfl:

Hoping for better times in the next update!

I'm enjoying the honesty of your TR. Sometimes I read them and wonder how the heck the parents keep all their kids happy all the time.

he's more interested in the peas! :lmao:

so glad emily is liking the characters now! :goodvibes

and of course Em thought she could...

IMG_0465.jpg

that is PRECIOUS!

He was so busy looking around, he loved it. He clapped and just could not get enough of it. The video of him on this is precious. I know my boy won't love it long, so I soaked it up this trip!

that's so sweet! this is one ride i *almost* can't tolerate myself but i know when i have a little one i will want to ride it multiple times because they are so cute on this ride! i remember my little sister riding it when she was 11 months old and she was SO cute!

so sorry em didn't get to ride splash! :guilty: i remember my little sister being at that "almost" height at opryland one year and she was just CRUSHED every time she couldn't ride something. it's so frustrating!

and about the bus situations......:scared1: what is WRONG with people????? i will admit to not giving up my seat to someone on the bus if i'm exhausted but when it comes to a woman carrying a kid, a pregnant woman, anyone over the age of 60 and kids, i'm DEFINITELY giving them my seat, no questions asked! people just kill me.

sorry for your not-so-magical moments that day. it happens to everyone. ray and i count the number of meltdowns we hear at WDW just because it's sort of an anamoly there. we even heard one dad say to his screaming little girl, "wow......you melted down really early today!" :rotfl2: you just have to kind of shrug your shoulders and keep going on with your day. you can't control the behavior of the idiots around you, you know? (not your kids but the adults that have an IQ of 2, i.e, the people on the bus that let emily scream and didn't give her a seat or the maid who forgot to clean your room!)

Hollywood Studios Day! Father's Day!

This park is one of my dad's favorites, and well my girls were not too excited. Neither one wanted to go there because they did not ride a thing last trip there. But I thought Toy Story Mania might change their minds.

We had no ADRs this day, and really were planning to play this park by ear. After yesterday I promised myself it would have to be a better day, and I was going to just enjoy our day and remember we were at Disney World!

We got up a tad bit later, we hoped to get there at rope drop, but knew we would not be in the front. We walked to the bus stop at 8:30 and were in the park by a quarter till, which I think is great, especially when you have a stroller to grab and bags to be checked.

DH made his way to the front on the mass of people, and to be honest we were pretty far forward too. It just was not crowded (for a summer day). I think no EMH and Fantasmic both lead this park to be less crowded.

My camera reacting to the humidity!

I also noticed their opening show.... it last until 9:07- kinda weird right?

We followed the crowds towards TSM as DH went fast. The goal was to meet up after he got the FPs. We did a great job of moving...we were ahead of most of the masses, and I was thrilled to see DH getting FPs at the first machine next to the entrance.

It was perfect timing... and we walked through the que! Boy it was cute, everyone says that but it was fun to see how great it looks...

What a fantastic ride! We all loved it, I can see why it is so popular! I felt like I had a bit of a handicap (I held Luke)... so I made sure next time I was not holding him!

As we exited we decided to go over and we caught the first Playhouse Disney show. Fun times, glad it was characters that my girls love! We exited that show and it was just about 10:00!

We were ready to meet someone....

There was nobody there to see Mickey...and we got tons of great pictures. I am kicking myself that we did not get a picture of the five of us, but it was so fun. Mickey was fantastic... we had 20 photopass pics of this!

We then split apart. Luke and my parents went on the Great Movie Ride, and we met some more characters.....

Emily sure enjoyed it now that she was super brave!

Continued in next post

Then DH went to find my parents and Luke and we went to meet Buzz and Woody and to get some FPS for ToT and RRC. That place was awfully cute where they do the meet and greet!

I saw them outside... so then we had some decisions to make....

"Up" next: should we stay or should we go now?

You got some great character interactions that morning!! Em did great with the characters, I can only hope A. does the same.

Awww, great shot! Your dad seems wonderful with the kids!

Go Luke! :thumbsup2 Lovin' that POC!! (I'm sure the girls were thinking, "Well, if the baby is smiling and clapping, it can't be all that bad!!)

I am in total agreement about the water temps at the WDW pools... too warm to be refreshing!

Kathy

What a fun time at Chef Mickey's!! All those pix are fabulous... so many smiles!! Glad to see Em is warming to the characters!

Luke was having none of it... he wanted a bottle, he was having a melt down. When Luke wants a bottle it is bad, even worse when he sees it or the formula dispenser. Well he saw the water bottle, the formula, and wanted his bottle NOW!

OMGoodness, I never could understand this!! You would thing that it would be the exact opposite, wouldn't you? "Oh, okay, there's the stuff... mom's getting my bottle now so I can calm down."

But, no! The crying always escalates... like you're going to suddenly change your mind or something! :rotfl:

Cue the ominous music...

Kathy

I love your pictures with Buzz and Woody. So cute! I wish we would have tracked them down. Are the girls feeling the magic yet?

Looks like your girls had a great morning! I hope they changed their mind about DHS! :goodvibes

There were at least five teenage/ young adult men that could have spared everyone by getting up and giving Em a seat... instead she cried. I felt horrible for her, but once again was amazed at how inconsiderate people are.

Disgraceful. :sad2:

And to top it off, an undone room to come "home" to... How awful.

Hope things get better soon...

Kathy

I'm so glad they liked the Playhouse Disney show! And I can totally sympathize with you about the "handicap" - I ended up with the baby in my lap for both rides on our trip! (Yes, DH is the video game nut, so I let him) Next time, the baby won't be a baby and can maybe sit next to me instead. Knowing him, he'll want to be firing!! :)Hopefully the girls won't be so down about DHS now. You got some great pics with the characters! DH would be very jealous of the time you got to spend with Sorcerer Mickey (that's his favorite). It sounds like the day started out well, so I hope it continues!

Love the family pic with Mickey! I think that HS has really stepped up the character meet and greets over the last couple of years - it does make the park more appealing for those of us with little ones!

What a fun start to the day! Glad to hear you all enjoyed TSM and had a great meet n greet with Mickey. We found no one there hanging out with him and had a fab time as well. I am going to have to show the pics of the Toy Story area to my boys as that is THE in movie around here. In fact, Doug said to me yesterday, "Mommy, next time we go to Disney World do you think we should skip Epcot? I want to make sure we see Buzz and Woody." :lmao: Such a goofball!

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of the day!

gosh, all your kids are cute, but my, is sweet Emily photogentic:love:
those pictures with her daddy are just too precious!!
so glad its been a great morning:goodvibes
