Tut-Tut, it Looks Like Rain! May '09 Trip Report. *Finished! 9/27 Pg. 69.

Such great Photopass pics!! :thumbsup2

I can't believe you are missing photos. I wonder if they got deleted or they just stored incorrectly somehow? :confused3

I hope your feet get better! :goodvibes

It sounds like you were about to squeeze in a little fun in between down pours. I can't imagine what it would be like to be at WDW alone. I am sure it would be more relaxing that way. But, I don't know if I would like it or not. I look forward to hearing about the arrival of your mom.

I'm so mad that the rain ruined your plans again!!! :sad1: Oh well, the day wasn't a complete waste- at least you got another cream cheese pretzel!! :lmao: The hooligan story was too funny! I remember somebody using that at some point on a previous trip, but I couldn't figure out what they were doing... the ride didn't even have the fast pass option (it was the little race cars at MK) so I just looked at them with a confused stare

LL-I think its cute that you thought Haunted Mansion was a little creepy to ride alone-I can that...I love HM a lot but I've always ridden it my someone...it would be creepy to ride it by yourself...

Power to the ladies-I'm so glad that that mom and daughter called those hooligans out on the butting in line...I really hate line butters-and if I see them they aren't pulling that on me- and I'm fairly soft spoken but that kind of thing just makes me so mad...:headache: Didn't they get the same rule book as the rest of us? :headache::headache::headache:

Hmmm...that cream cheese pretzel sounds like a very yummy snack...it the cream cheese sweet or savory?

I think you're making the best of the rain...your still in Disney right?...We had a very rainy May here as well because usually May is a pretty sunny month-you know-April showers bring May flowers...:flower3:

Very Sorry about the photos-that isn't very fun...:sad1:

Oh your Lame-O comment had me just LAUGHING.... SO funny... a philosophical moment from LL.... to be lame or not to be lame, that is the question?

On the Columbia House, YEAH, I agree, the fish didn't look that great... Hmmm.. never eaten there myself, but is sounds like it is normally good!

A solo trip to MK and beyond... yeah, with CP on that one HEAVENLY.....:lovestruc

I think having that time to just explore would be great!!

RAIN and BUSSES that take FOREVER.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

BUT, that being said -- SO excited to hear about your mom and daughter trip!!!! Good times ahead!

:goodvibes

fellow bostonian! loving the TR!!!!!!!!!! we were there the week before you so I feel you pain with the monsoons!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

593526632_mtYfw-M.jpg

OK....finally decided.....this is my favorite. I have a thing for Mickey! He beats out all those skinny princesses!

I'm all caught up and I love your photopass pictures! I'm going with MEK because the Sorcerer Mickey picture is my favorite!! I love Mickey in all his outfits but that one is just the best.:goodvibes

Your solo time in MK sounds wonderful. :cloud9: While a solo trip is not something I'd be able to do anytime in the near future, you have inspired me to try to get some solo time.

I'm sorry that the rain but a damper on your plans but another night of rest was probably a good thing! Can't wait to hear about the adventures with your mom!

That's really weird how your memory card ate your pictures. Hopefully they'll show up somewhere.

That's too funny about the hooligans getting thwarted. :lmao:

Yay for mommy's bringing supplies. :lovestruc

BTW, love your Photopass pictures. I really wish we'd gotten into a share when I went so that we could've had the pictures. :sad2: Oh well.
I was very happy the hooligans were thwarted and I was super glad they weren't in my pirate ship!

Sorry about your memory card issue - that's never happened to us before! Hopefully there weren't any priceless moments that were lost.
I love that story about the mom and daughter in the POTC line - we never let line jumpers go by us either!
Nothing priceless, just pictures that I snapped.

I love your photopass pictures! You did a great job editing and I love all the borders. I really love the balloon and hope to do that in October.

Your solo day sounds nice and relaxing. I can just see you standing in the line w/a windy rain pouring down. :sad2: That happened to us on our first night in November. My poor husband was carrying our two bags, a huge stroller, and trying to keep A. out of the rain while I tried ot nurse B. standing up, which would not work so I sat down (on the wet puddled ground) and did it. It was horrible! :headache:

That's weird about your pictures! Thanks for the food review that is on our counter service list so now I know what NOT to order. :)

It is strange riding rides alone, we do the parent swap, but after a while it becomes normal. :)

Can't wait to hear about your adventures with you Mama!
Oh my goodness, your rainy line story is AWFUL. I can't even imagine.

Hope you're able to find your photos. How strange!

I understand about feeling creepy riding Haunted Mansion and Pirates alone. For some reason, those are two rides that I am adamant that I will not do by myself. It's silly, but they do creep me out. Yet, I think I'd be fine doing Tower of Terror by myself. Go figure. :confused3
I would absolutely NOT ride Haunted Mansion by myself at night, way too creepy!

I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying your trip report.

I read your last one from your honeymoon and enjoyed that one as well....

Looking forward to the rest of your trip with your mom.

Denise
Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

Could the missing pictures be on the internal memory of the camera? not on a card?
Nope, they aren't. I had already checked that. I know I deleted a few pictures that didn't come out and I'm wondering if I deleted too many. Who knows!

Weird about the missing pictures! :confused3 I knew 5 just couldn't be right! :lmao:

Sounds like overall a nice day. A DIS meet, CoP, your pretzel, CHH - which I'm going to have to try, Pirates.

Good for that girl shutting down the hooligans. Don't mess with DISers! pirate:

So Country Bear Jamboree? You enjoyed? I may have to try that again. I remember liking it as a kid. I may try Tiki again too.

The bus stop experience sounds frustrating. I did notice on my last trip that Disney seemed to keep "extra" buses queued up near the bus stops and would assign them as the queues got long. Too bad that didn't happen to you. I could be imagining it but I also think there is something about the value resort buses - either fewer of them or that many more ppl trying to get on them?? One night at Epcot I had to wait for the THIRD bus to Pop.

Yeah for your Mom arriving tomorrow with blister reinforcements. I feel so badly that your feet were in such tough shape. I really hope that doesn't happen again in Sept!
Yes, I would see Country Bear Jamboree again. I enjoyed it!

The bus situation was very frustrating that day. It made me quite grumpy.

That's really weird that your pics were not on your camera. They could be on the internal memory, hopefully they are.....:)

That is just too FUH NEE about the mother/daughter behind you telling those teens how it is..:rotfl: AND Cudos to you for riding POTC by yourself and surviving the drop!!!!:cool1:

I'm glad that you got another day of needed rest for you feet, I hope that when your mom arrives that your feet feel much better with all of the supplies she's bringing. Mom's are the greatest!!!:goodvibes

Can't wait to here about the rest of your trip and I'm staying up to date on your PRT, sounds like you're going to have a wonderful, truly relaxing trip...
Mom's are the greatest. I was so happy that she was going to bring supplies for my feet.

I was quite proud of myself for surviving the drop.

A day by myself at MK--- that sounds heavenly. Sorry that you got soaked as you waited for the buses... that stinks since you were trying to beat the rain.
It did stink. I could have gotten in a few more rides and gotten just as soaked.

I am bewildered by the memory card and the photos. Must...solve...this...mystery! :lmao: Seriously, that's weird. What a bummer.

Sounds like you had a really nice start to your day and enjoyed some Magic Kingdom alone time. You definitely got on some of my favorites, and I love to read about them. pirate: :hmghost:
I loved the Magic Kingdom alone. It was so nice and peaceful to just do whatever I wanted to do.

Oh no!! I hope you find your pictures!! That's so weird. Great update though!! Oh and in response to your response, I loved the Tinkerbell movie too!! I'm excited they're making another one!! Yay!! I love Tinkerbell!! Sounds like you had another relaxing night, sorry you got wet though!! It was probably good for your feet again to just relax though. Can't wait for more and hear how your mom liked the trip!!
It was good for my feet to relax again and it was nice to just chill before Mom got there.

That is so strange about your camera eating your pictures! :headache: But, I find it pretty funny that 4 of the 5 are light fixtures! :goodvibes

And more rain! Ugh! But, it does sound like you got quite a bit in before the rain and had a decent day at MK-and not much foot pain! :thumbsup2
I did have a nice day and the foot pain was a minimum this day. Actually on all of MK days it didn't seem to be as bad. Epcot was the worst place for foot pain!

I'm all caught up! I loved the Photopass pictures. So weird about the pictures missing from your memory card. :confused3

I'm with you on HM -- I LOVE it and it's one of my very favorite rides, but I don't think I'd be able to ride it alone, either. I need someone with me to hold on to.
Seriously! It was creepy alone.

Your tour of the MK solo seems so relaxing!

The cream cheese pretzel sounds yummy :)
The pretzels are way too good, everyone must try them at least once!

OOH a DISmeet...how fun was that!! I'm so glad you were able to meet up with them and enjoy COP together!!!

Awww...I'm sorry you didn't have the best experience at CHH I really enjoyed their fish when I went, must have been an off day!!!

And more rain...boo that is no fun at all...and to get soaked...yucky!! However we do have your mom coming to look forward too and I can't wait to hear about all the little things you guys did!!!
I'm excited to write about Mom and I's adventures!

Your day at MK sounds so nice....love all the breaks and the shows you decided on...that probably helped your tootsies some!:thumbsup2 I laughed about your reaction to HM and POC by yourself, I think I'd be the same way!!! And I don't blame you one bit for calling it a day and staying in....that rain sounds HORRIBLE!!!!:scared1: Yay..your Mom is on her way!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!:goodvibes
It was nice to take it easy at MK. I really got into my solo groove.

I love Columbia Harbor House! We always sit upstairs. I had the chicken and fish combo when I was there the last time. The atmosphere is really nice. I would be kind of freaked out to ride the Haunted Mansion by myself too. :thumbsup2 for being brave!
Thanks!

Yeah - We're finally going to meet mom!
It never quotes all of your comments! BOO! Yes, I was very excited for Mom to join me the next day.

We enjoyed our CHH to go, but I had the tuna sandwich. VERY yummy!:thumbsup2

Boo to more rain! You almost made it out dry, LL! I think another night of rest and foot recuperation sounds good. Hope it helped!

AND I agree with ILuv XU. A day in the MK alone sounds wonderful.:cloud9:
Doesn't it? I loved it. I think next time I will go with the salad, it looked REALLY good.

I love chatting with people at Disney -- it's always so nice!

I want a solo trip!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: You crack me up, LL!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:This is classic! I love it!

Ugghhh! That stinks!

Great update, LL! I always love reading about your trip!
I think you should plan a solo trip next year! :rolleyes1

It sounds like you enjoyed some of your solo time!

Sorry you had a bad experience at CHH...I love the theming there as well..You know I never noticed the light fixtures there until those pix....I'll have to look again.

Sometimes the best thing about being at WDW and alone is the option to stay in your room! Glad you were able to get some rest and just relax before your mom got there.
I did enjoy it! I'll try CHH again, I think I just had it on an off day.

Your solo day is making me so jealous. This weekend I was talking to DH and mentioned taking DD by myself for a day trip if he didn't feel like going again and he was all insulted that I didn't want him to go with us. A solo trip is going to take a lot of work. :sad2: I'll just enjoy your solo trip for now.
Hehehe, Marc felt that way at first but then he saw how happy I was thinking about and planning that he doesn't feel bad anymore.

It sounds like your day was wonderful! Sounds very relaxing in spite of the rain and your feet.

The photopass pics are great too. I love the new balloon shots!
The balloon shots are great!

Not nice! :rolleyes1

Love, love, love the photopass pictures. I am another one who is not big on the photopass pics, but I so want one holding them Mickey balloons now. DS wanted one of those balloons the first trip and we had to explain to him we would get it but he could not take it home since we fly. He is now 10 and made a comment the other day that it is too bad he cant get one of those Mickey head balloons. He still has not gotten over it. :lmao: Poor mis-treated kid.

That was really nice of you to hold the coffee for the lady who had to stand, thats why I love Disney!

Philharmagic is my favorite 3D show also, I dont think I could ever watch it to many times.

Sorry about your missing pics. I hate when that happens.

How many memory cards do you use normally?
Too funny about the balloons with your DS. I secretly hate balloons, they are beautiful to look at but I hate having to drive with them in a car or anything because I worry they will pop. They let a little girl bring a balloon on the plane on the way home and I nearly had a panic attack!

Thirteen days!!

Just had to get that out of my system, phew!
WOOOT!

:beach: Dont think I could be smiling any bigger. I am so ready.

:dance3::jumping1::rainbow::jumping3::jumping2:
:simba::dumbo::hyper::cheer2:
Hehehe! I am so excited for you!

Such great Photopass pics!!

I can't believe you are missing photos. I wonder if they got deleted or they just stored incorrectly somehow? :confused3

I hope your feet get better! :goodvibes
I think I probably deleted them accidentally. Who knows!

It sounds like you were about to squeeze in a little fun in between down pours. I can't imagine what it would be like to be at WDW alone. I am sure it would be more relaxing that way. But, I don't know if I would like it or not. I look forward to hearing about the arrival of your mom.
It was very relaxing and low key. It was nice to just flit from one thing to the next and not worry about anyone else.

I would have probably done the same thing! Hehehe.

I think you're making the best of the rain...your still in Disney right?...We had a very rainy May here as well because usually May is a pretty sunny month-you know-April showers bring May flowers...:flower3:

Very Sorry about the photos-that isn't very fun...:sad1:
Hmmm. How to describe the pretzel. There is just enough sweetness, it's not overly sweet. It's delicious.

I hate people who think they don't have to wait in line! It drives me bonkers!

:goodvibes
Glad you liked my lame-o comment. :rotfl:

fellow bostonian! loving the TR!!!!!!!!!! we were there the week before you so I feel you pain with the monsoons!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:
Thanks for reading!! Monsoons is the only way to describe it!

OK....finally decided.....this is my favorite. I have a thing for Mickey! He beats out all those skinny princesses!
Hehehe. I quite like this picture too!

:rotfl2: I agree! And Donald Duck and Daisy have larger than average behinds, so I like them too! ;)
Hehehe, I will never look at Donald the same way again.

I think everyone should try solo at somepoint, even if it's just a single solo day on a family trip!

Your photpass pictures look like fun!!! One of these days, I'm going to take a Disney vacation where I can just relax and enjoy the details... :cloud9:

Wednesday May 27th. Day 6.

I woke up after sleeping in a bit and by sleeping in I mean 8:30AM. I was super excited that Mom was coming in. I knew that I had about two hours until her plane landed and I decided that I wanted to try and sleep some more so I would be even more rested and I have this theory that when you are really excited about something, going back to sleep makes the time go by so much faster. It didn't work because Marc called and then I was too wound up. I watched the weather report, same report with afternoon showers. *GROAN* Oh well. I wasn't going to think about that right now.

I got ready and before I knew it, Mom was calling to report that she had landed and was already on Magical Express. Yay! It was before 10:30 too, her plane had landed early. I took my mug and headed to the All Star Music lobby. I sat at the little table they have by the window by the main door and waited patiently.

It seemed to take longer than I thought it should of but Mom arrived safe and sound from the ME bus. I was so excited! She had just brought a carry on so we didn't need to worry about any of her other luggage. She sat with me for a few minutes to call my Dad to report that she had arrived safe and sound and was with me at the Resort.

We decided to head back to the room so that Mom could settle in a bit and to doctor up my feet. Mom wasn't thrilled with the long hike to our room but oh well. I like Broadway!

I showed Mom my feet and you know that look that Moms get when you have done something either really stupid or really sad, it's the same look my Mom had when I dyed my hair pink as a freshman in High School. I believe she uttered something like "What did you do to yourself?" and then "I should have gotten your sneakers from Marc." Well. Why didn't I think of that!?! D'oh! Oh well. Mom had brought some extra bandages and declared that we must get some ointment on our travels.

While she was getting ready and while I was resting my feet, I asked her to hand me my Mailbag. She grabbed and then asked what I had in it, it weighed a ton. Oh, Mom! She convinced me to leave my camera in the room to give myself less weight and that we would just take pictures with her camera. Done and done.

The plan for today was supposed to be Hollywood Studios for a bit and then Brown Derby for dinner. I had all the maps out and gave Mom all of her options for what we could do. She had ZERO interest in going too Hollywood Studios. Zero. I get my love of Hollywood and Movies from Dad. I said okay. I then proposed that we could go somewhere else and then to Brown Derby or did she want to eat somewhere else?

I will admit. At this point I was biting my tongue. I wanted my SALMON POLENTA! I was being a grownup though because I had told Mom that I would take her to a dinner in Disney for her Mother's Day present, I guess it's only fair that she picked where we were going.

She wanted to eat somewhere else. *sigh* Goodbye Salmon Polenta...until next time.

I told her that she needed to decide what park she wanted to go too and then we could pick someplace to eat. She looked at the maps, thought and picked Epcot. Okay! I asked her where she wanted to eat. She said that the place where I had the fish n' chips sounded really yummy to her. I should have known. Mom's grandmother was from England and it's hard for her to resist fish n' chips! I called Disney Dining and nothing. Sigh. We had the choice of Biergarten or Nine Dragons. I absolutely had no desire to go to Biergarten so I asked Mom if Nine Dragons was okay. She said sure. We had our ADR and with that we headed to Epcot.

I was not happy. Not only was I giving up my Salmon Polenta but I had to eat at Nine Dragons? Bah. It doesn't interest me, I am sure it's good but not my thing.

I tried calling again while we waited for the bus. They had Marrakesh. I'd rather eat there so we took that one. Mom was thrilled to try it. I felt mildly better.

We had a bit to wait for the bus....Mom stood in the line and I sat down. I hate it when people do that but my feet were KILLING me. They were really bad this day and I hadn't even stepped inside a park.

When we arrived at Epcot we went to the ticket window to upgrade the 1 day pass for Mom into a 4 day park hopper. I should have told her not to get the park hopper but I forgot and she just went with what I had been telling her for weeks. I felt bad afterwards because we didn't do any park hopping. For some reason the woman wasn't able to upgrade this ticket which I thought was odd. She directed us to go through the turnstiles and to the Guest Services located inside and that might be able to do it. I verified that we could use the ticket and still upgrade. I didn't want any problems!

We stopped to take some pictures of the Topiaries. It was hard because Mom's camera doesn't have an eye viewer, it just has the screen so with the sun it was near impossible to see what we were taking. We both took these ones. I think we did going at it blinded!

556026846_CoJDK-M.jpg

She had already Mickey-fied her purse! Hehehe.

556026413_57JLN-M.jpg

556027706_8AbgK-M.jpg

Not the greatest pic!

Instead of heading straight to guest services we hopped in line for Spaceship Earth. It was a quick line but right after they had taken our picture....STOPPED. Again. It was getting to be a joke! We sat there for quite a bit of time. It was unfortunate too because it was right before you feel the really cool air on the ride. I texted back and forth with Jen and even attempted to get a picture.

556028092_NQve4-M.jpg

Nothing like sitting in pitch black!

Soon we were on our way. Then we stopped again. For the life of me...I can't remember where. All of my stops on Spaceship Earth are blending in my brain. Oh! I remember. It was as our future was building and I was really worried that they would mess up because I wanted Mom to see the ending. I let her pick everything.

556028479_qhoqp-M.jpg

I teased her about not taking off her sunglasses for the pic!

556030010_YuY84-M.jpg

Looks like we will have a wonderful future!

Afterwards, we headed to Guest Services who was able to upgrade Mom's ticket with no problem. Yay!! I also asked about other dining locations. I still wasn't happy....

WOO HOO! They had Rose & Crown at 4:45PM! SCORE! I was super excited and so was Mom. We took our happy selves over to The Land. We each got a fastpass for Soarin' that would be good after 6:30PM and then went over to Sunshine Seasons for some lunch. We were both STARVED.

556031920_KqAek-M.jpg

Mom had salmon with an olive tapenade that was good, just a little dry.

556031609_bVYho-M.jpg

I had the chicken, which was so YUMMY. Really good!

556032384_PMAt4-M.jpg

We shared the carrot cake for dessert which was moist and delish.

We made our game plan while we were eating. We were going to go on Living with the Land and then do the standby for Soarin'. I was hoping to get in two rides that evening since we may not come back to Epcot.

Mom loved Living with the Land. I absolutely know she took pictures but they are not in my Smug Mug. D'oh! Use your imaginations. I was amazed on this ride because some of the vegetation looked so different from when I rode this with Jen on Saturday. It was just a few days but it was amazing.

After we used the restrooms and got into the Soarin' queue which was posting about a 70 minute wait. That's okay. I wanted Mom to SOAR! I have to say that I had a lot of fun with the video game things in the queue! I didn't really know that they were there. So much fun. I liked flapping my wings. HEHE! Have any of you played those before? Made the waiting not so bad. Don't get me wrong...it was a long wait.

Continued in the next post.....

Continued from previous post...

It was in this line that my neck was bothering me. I think it must have gotten a little sunburned. At the time I was really confused because I had been putting tons of sunscreen on the back of it. Mom looked at it and she said it was really red. Very curious. I shrugged it off and continued waiting.

It took almost the full 70 minutes before we were ushered into the FRONT ROW! I didn't even ask! I was so happy that I got to ride in the front again. 4 for 4!! Mom loved Soarin' and I enjoyed it as well. So much fun. I love listening to the music from the ride in my car now.

After Soarin', my Mom talked with my Dad again and we headed to World Showcase. We were passing on Test Track for now.

I love this picture...I think it's the balloon.
556033985_sfN7H-M.jpg

Mom loved this tree....
556034395_Akgno-M.jpg

She was thrilled by it because apparently she is hoping to acheive the same effect at home with one of her trees.

Mom was loving all of the pretty flowers, we stopped and shared a delicious smoothie.

556038336_Z6xas-M.jpg

She checked out some of the F&G Festival displays.
556038969_gDcYk-M.jpg

Mom took this pretty picture.
556040491_c6BaN-M.jpg

And I forced her to take these light fixture pictures.
556040860_m6MXV-M.jpg

556041601_HXCrJ-M.jpg

We decided to stick around in England since our dinner ADR was rapidly approaching. We poked around in all of the shops. Mom contemplated buying my brother a Beatles shirt and I was searching for more pins and something "English" to bring home. I never did find anything I wanted. I was too bummed out about my bunny not being there to really like something.

I wish I could have taken these home. These have become my favorite light fixtures on property! Aren't they gorgeous? I just adore them.

556042354_R7W6Y-M.jpg

556044210_HeZff-M.jpg

I still can't believe I didn't notice the carpet bag with the light coming out of it while I was there. I'm ashamed of myself.

As I was taking this picture, I hear my mom say to a gentleman that is looking at me...."She has a thing for light fixtures. You should see all the pictures she takes of them."

Oh.

My.

I was so embarassed!

Mothers!

556045514_gaA6W-M.jpg

She got a big kick out of my embarassment so she was very pleased with herself.

We went and checked in for our meal at Rose & Crown and we had a very short wait. Only a few minutes. At this point my feet were bugging me so I was glad that we'd be sitting in AC for a bit.

We had the best server for this meal. I can't remember his name but he normally bartends, he was just filling in on this night. He was so helpful and the best thing was that he was telling us about traditions in England and how they eat food and his after school snacks growing up. It was really wonderful. He was a bit chatty but I loved his accent so he could have pulled up a chair for all I care. I wish I remembered his name.

We each had the magical star cocktail to start. Yummmmmmmm. Then we split the cheese plate again, I forgot to take picture of that. Our server suggested making little sausage sandwiches and he was spot on, so yummy that way!

Mom had the fish n' chips but of course.
556046944_Pku9b-M.jpg

She loved them, thought they were really good.

I had the steak that came with potato gratin, brocollini and a cheddar popover.

As I am remembering how delicious this meal was...I am wondering WHY I didn't book this for the Fall. I think this is a big mistake on my part. Sigh. It was so yummy. Everything was delicious. The potato gratin was devine, the cheddar popover was delicious, the steak was wonderfully prepared. Two thumbs up from me.

I've debated what I would get again at Rose & Crown and I think I'd get the steak again because I can get the Fish N' Chips at the stand. The best of both worlds!

We debated trying another cocktail but decided to forgo it to spend some time in WS.

We saw Aurora and I took a few photos with her.

We poked around in the shops, I was looking for something for Marc but couldn't decide what to get him. Mom bought some lavendar sage soap that we used for the rest of our trip. It smelled so good. In fact she has been lamenting the fact that she only bought one bar. Her lovely daughter is going to stockpile some in the Fall to dole out at holidays.

At this point, my feet were killing me. I was just miserable. They hurt so bad that I was walking funny and because I was walking funny my hips and legs were sore too. I tried to put a smile on my face because this was Mom's trip and I didn't want to spoil it for her.

We did a slow tour of the countries. I most remember Morrocco because I love the light fixtures.

In Japan, I stopped and put my socks on. I was close to tears at this point my feet hurt so bad. When I was done I met Mom in the store, we watched the Pick a Pearl ceremony. I bought some of those pads you put on the bottoms of your feet to detox them. They are neat little things. Very cool. I used one set when I got home. I still have one left over.

In Germany, I sat on the bench while Mom shopped. She had me come in because she wanted to buy me one of those little birds with feathers to put on my tree. It was very kind of her. I picked out a gold and green one. He is super cute.

I was so miserable. I started to think to myself that there was no way I could go to Animal Kingdom tomorrow. Every 5 minutes I was sitting down. I was trying to put on a brave face for my mom but I just ended up becoming super quiet and then she knew I was miserable.

We traveled to Norway and we bought school bread for both of us and Mom got another pastry to have in the room later on.

We lost our steam in Norway. I was miserable, Mom was tired though I think if I hadn't been so miserable we would have stayed longer. We decided to give away our Soarin' fastpasses and go back to ASMu. The thought of walking to the front of the park made me want to cry. I think I had to stop three times on the way out to rest my feet. The last time I stopped was by Spaceship Earth and I started to cry. It was horrible. I was tired, hurt and so upset that I was ruining Mom's trip.

Mom consoled me, said we would do whatever it took to get me to a park the next day and things would be better.

We didn't have to wait too long for a bus to get us and luckily we were both able to get a seat. THANK GOODNESS. I don't remember much after this. I think we stopped to get some water and we poked around the gift shop a bit and bought some ointment for my feet. Then we headed back to our room. I soaked my feet for a long time. Applied the ointment and just let them breath.

I do know that we watched the end So You Think You Can Dance, which I had never watched before and REALLY enjoyed. I had never watched it before and now I am hooked.

At somepoint, in mid conversation with Mom she just started snoring. I cracked up. I turned off the tv and lights and headed to bed....only to take forever in falling asleep because Mom snores like a foghorn. I occasionally wear earplugs with Marc because he snores so loud but Mom puts him to shame. Eventually I fell asleep without my earplugs because my feet hurt too much to get up and get them. Ha!

Wow. I had no idea that your feet were that bad. It must of made it worst in a way with your Mom there because then you felt like you had to walk around. I sincerely hope that your feet hold up better in September

Oh, I can almost feel your pain. I am so sorry your trip was ruined by rain and foot pain. :sad1: I am no longer jealous that you get to go back in September without me. You deserve a do over. I do think it is neat that your Mom got to share a few days with you.

That steak does look awesome at R&C. You are really making me want to give it another shot one of these days.
