Our 15 day summer adventure to WDW! NEW TR LINK 11/6 pg. 49!!

So the next morning started with a bang! The alarm went off and we all sprang into action! It was so funny, we were headed to Epcot and Bryan said to the boys, "are you ready for some Test Track?" Eric replies " I big, I'm buff, I'm tough and I'm 7" we all DIED laughing at that one! Once we were dressed, we headed up to the Artist palette. It wasn't a far walk at all! The breakfast options at AP were pretty decent but we really were disappointed overall with their selections, especially for the kids! Breakfast done we headed to Epcot...it was already SO HOT! All the news stations were saying that this was record breaking heat indexes for that time of year! Once the park opened, Bryan headed to FP Soarin and met us at Test Track!

IMG_6043.jpg

This was GREAT! We got our photopass picture afterwards! I wish all the photo rides did this!

We then took the obligatory car photo!

IMG_6046.jpg

Afterwards we headed over to Mission Space! GREEN TEAM ONLY!

IMG_6050.jpg

Eric taking his job VERY seriously!

IMG_6055.jpg

Matthew, not so much!

IMG_6056.jpg

The liftoff!

IMG_6061.jpg

Gotta love Space Mickey!

IMG_6071.jpg

After that ride, we went on AGAIN!!!

IMG_6072.jpg

The wait was minimal!

IMG_6073.jpg

After our 2nd journey to Mars, we went over to use our Soarin fastpasses and FP'D Test Track along the way!

Once at Soarin, we asked for the front row and we were so excited that we got it!

IMG_6081.jpg

After we soared over California, we decide to ride Figment! The kids were less than thrilled but we LOVE to torture them so off to visit our little purple friend we went!

IMG_6085.jpg

Bryan LOVING putting the kids through it!

IMG_6086.jpg

More torture! Doesn't Eric look thrilled!

IMG_6099.jpg

If nothing else, Figment was a GREAT way to cool off!

After Figment we made our way to Club Cool! You have to love free refreshments in the heat!

IMG_6075.jpg

We all thought that Matthew had previously tried Beverly but we were wrong, and so the torture continues!

IMG_6077.jpg

After we chased away our thirst, it was time to hit the World Showcase to make it to our lunch at Rose and Crown. This was a first for us!

Don't you just love the new park decorations? So cute!

IMG_6100.jpg

We got there about 15 minutes before they opened, so we stopped in the shops!

Payback for the earlier torture! HA!

IMG_6104.jpg

I never realized that you could be seated outside so when I checked in the hostess told me that sitting inside was a request NOT a guarentee, OK WHAT, in this heat! So of course I requested to be inside but I had a TOTAL panic attack that we might not get it!

Fortunately we were seated inside! YEAH!

IMG_6108.jpg

Bryan had the meat and cheese plate for an appetizer, he said it was delicious.....

IMG_6110.jpg

I had the apple and stilton salad(which is like bleu cheese) it was GREAT!

IMG_6111.jpg

For our meals, Bryan had the bangers and mash, without the mash(diabetes) and veggies instead! Pathetic looking isn't it? He liked it though!

IMG_6112.jpg

I had the trusty burger, which was terrific!

IMG_6113.jpg

The kids both had pizza and french fries! For some reason, they rated these fries "the best on property"...goofy kids!

IMG_6114.jpg

For dessert Bryan had the no sugar added fruit trifle which he raved about...

IMG_6119.jpg

I had the special celebration cheesecake, it was good!

IMG_6118.jpg

After lunch, it was time to head out, we had some shopping to do and some money to spend!

coming up next, not your typical park exit!

I soooo love this thread! My two sons and I are leaving on Saturday night for a 9 night stay at SSR. It is exciting to hear about the resort since it will be our first DVC stay as well.
You have a beautiful family and I am really enjoying reading about your trip!

Brooke

It was super hot...and I would not have been happy to eat outside either. It would be nice for Illuminations, say non summer time of year. Loads of fun so far, can't wait to see what you all are up to next.

Better late than never. I can't believe you're already on day 2! We were in Epcot on the same day. Boy was it hot! For us it was the hottest day for our trip.

Your trip sounds great and I can't wait to read more. I'm so glad Eric got over his illness. Do you think it was the heat?

Thanks so much for taking pictures of the food. I'm a visual person and I love looking at the food before deciding if I would like to eat it. Although the pictures of the bangers don't look so good, might have to pass on that. The deserts look fab!

First full morning in Disney -- isn't it a wonderful feeling to wake up there?

You got a lot done -- how were the crowds while you were there? Was it crazy?

We ate outside at Rose and Crown, but there were huge ceiling fans going the whole time so it was quite pleasant. Your cheesecake looks delicious -- I had the Bailey's trifle and that was yummy, too.

I hadn't noticed until this update how much Eric looks like Bryan and how much Matthew looks like you!

Love the update!! How is the green side of Mission space? We have not tried it yet and would like to try this side first to see how the ride affects my youngest son. Can't wait to read more on your day in Epcot.

Melissa

That was hilarious what Eric said in the morning :rotfl2:

Is green side on mission space the tamer side? I have always been afraid to give that a try :scared1:

Another Beverly victim..that never gets old :lmao:

I had no idea you could get a burger at Rose Crown and Pub. Is that listed on the menu or did you have to ask for it?

I always wanted to go there for meat and cheese platter, but did not think I would like the bangers

That salad looks so good.....:woohoo:

Great update :thumbsup2

great report so far! Love all the food porn! did Bryan enjoy all the sugar free desserts he had? I'm glad he had those options since this was your first trip with diabetes. How were his sugars? Love the "do you know how lucky"...speech, I think we all must say it at least once during our vacation, remind them and make them aware!

Can't wait for more.popcorn::

Totally enjoyed that update, Diane! Very nice! Looks like you all had a great first part of the day at Epcot. My morning sounds EXACTLY the same!! FP for soarin, and Test Track and Mission Space for DS7 and DH! Glad to know Rose and Crown was a good lunch -- we were not sure we wanted to use our TS on Brit food, but it looks so inviting in there!

Looking forward to the rest of EPCOT!! :)

Wow that trifle looks to die for!!!

Your ending has me waiting with bated breath!!! Ha ha!

BTW, you sent my kids the postcard, right? If so Amelia was beside herself with excitement! She couldn't believe Mickey actually sent them a postcard. She immediately drew something for him to give to him when we are in Disney. So if it was you (and I'm pretty sure it was) THANK YOU!!!!

Hey Diane!!! Hope things are well with you guys today! Great update, loved it. Luke is so excited when you post your updates, he has me read them to him : ) Halarious about Eric in the morning (doesn't surprise me, but halarious!) I can't believe that about Rose and Crown, thank God you got to eat inside, that would actually sway me frommaking ressies there in the summer. Can't wait to hear the rest of day 2. I'm working on my next one but Tim with the video conversion is taking a long time.
Lesley

Hi Diane,
Loved the update. Looks like you had a great morning at Epcot! The pics are great too. I guess Matthew didn't like Beverly . So did you like R&C? Looking at the pics probably not my cup of tea.

So we left off with us finishing lunch at the Rose and Crown. We ventured back out into the OPPRESIVE heat and talk game plan for the rest of the day! Eric and Matthew are DYING to do a Kim Possible mission but Bryan and I aren't feeling it! So we collectively decide to leave Epcot and go to Downtown Disney for a little shopping! We go to walk back to the front of the park and these 2 birds come out of nowhere and fly REALLY close to Eric....NOT GOOD! This child is afraid of anything that moves that is not human or machinery!!!!! WELL, Eric starts running in the opposite direction flopping his hands and yelling! It was HILARIOUS! I could barely stand up straight I was laughing SO HARD! LOTS of people were staring but I couldn't tell if they were staring at me or Eric because I was laughing THAT loud! Bryan and Matthew start chasing after Eric and we all met up and decided to go through the International Gateway and catch a DTD bus from one of the resorts over there for fear of encountering the attack birds again!:rotfl2:

We decide the Beach Club bus stop was our destination!

IMG_6124.jpg

IMG_6125.jpg

IMG_6126.jpg

Eric was still too stressed out to pose!

IMG_6127.jpg

Finally recomposed!

IMG_6128.jpg

IMG_6129.jpg

We waited FOREVER for a bus, the longest wait all trip at 35 minutes! Finally one arrived and we forged on to shop! The boys decide they wanted to do the Design a Tee!

IMG_6134.jpg

We first took this picture outside!

IMG_6133.jpg

The whole process for this is SO CUTE! First you choose a color for your shirt and then your size and then there all types of options for graphics or phrases, whether you want to create your own or use one they already have!

IMG_6130.jpg

IMG_6131.jpg

IMG_6132.jpg

The woman behind the counter told us that they were running a little behind so it would be about 2 hours before the boys shirts were ready, so we had them shipped back to the resort! After the t-shirt designs we headed over to the pin store!

IMG_6135.jpg

We started to run short on time so we were trying to find the BEST/QUICKEST way to get back to Saratoga.........HMMMMMM!

continued in next post!
