Teena, it was a pleasure meeting you when we were there!

I'm leaving for my daughter's to help her transition from her present 2nd grade class to her new 2nd grade class on August 18th. I won't be back at work until August 30th. She teaches at a very low income 12 month school. I get to help her sanitize the room, desks, chairs, etc. and set up for the new class and then help with the new class as an aide for the first few days of the new school year.

I'm not sure but I think the new breakfast at Beaches & Cream starts at 7:00 AM. Will verify on Saturday when I get back to work. I was invited to drive in this morning for a "test/preview" but it's too far (50 minutes) and too early (7 AM) to go in after working 4 days in a row.

I agree with everybody that it will be well received. Nothing is permanent at Disney as you all know. If it is well received, I would imagine it will stay ... like the movies on the beach. If they don't get positive feedback about it (that's a hint for all of you to write letters after trying it) then it will most likely go away.

Think about it though ... there is nothing like this over at Boardwalk either so I would imagine Boardwalk people on the food plan that want to use a quick service for breakfast will all be coming over too! The whole Epcot Resort area needed something like this ... that's why I'm so excited about it.

Hi Teena!!!

This is great news about the beaches and cream breakfast!

thanks so much for sharing

This is huge and I'm so excited!!!!!

Starting this Friday, they are serving a Counter Service or Quick Service (whatever you want to call it) at Beaches & Cream every morning. They have an eggs, bacon and toast platter, a pancakes and bacon platter, an omelete and a few other items including some children platters. Prices are very reasonable and it also counts as a Quick Service/Counter Service on the meal plan. The manager there told me that the cut off is 11 AM sharp. Even if there is a line, at 11 AM sharp, no one else gets served, even if you are next in line. This is because they have to turn it completely around for the lunch service at Beaches & Cream and of course after 11 AM, anything you get there is back to being a Table Service on the meal plan.

I think this will go over wonderfully and is a fantastic addition to the Y&B Club!!! I'm really excited about it!

Thanks for the info! This is great (and perfect timing)! :goodvibes

I wonder what type of kids breakfasts they will have at Beaches and Cream. My son is hoping they have Mickey Mouse Waffles. He ate them every day on our last WDW trip.

Just wanted to hi, Teena and thank you for all of your great information. Hope to see you around when we are there in two weeks.

So glad to hear they're bringing it back!!!! When DH and I used to vacation there pre-child (circa 1999 and prior), they used to serve take-out breakfast @ B & C.... I'm happy to hear it's returning!!!:cool1:

I'll try to remember to bring home a menu on Saturday when I work and post it here.

Hi, this is our first venture away from WL. We booked a studio at BCV. I would like a view of Epcot if possible. From what I can see all BCV rooms have pretty spacious balconies, is that right? No standing room only ones? Also we have DS3 the quick climber so we would like a regular balcony as opposed to one that is obstructed--he does not need extra reason to climb to see the view.... How should I request this on my ressie? I know nothing is guaranteed....as a matter of fact we never go our requests at WL but still great visits....TIA

To be 100% honest with you, the BCV are always 99-100% occupied and it is a very small building. As almost all BCV guests know, you have to be real real lucky to get your requests met. First of all, I don't think we have a studio even on the fifth floor that isn't obstructed by trees or something that has a view of Epcot. Maybe one or two. The chance of someone checking out of a studio with a regular balcony that has an unobstructed view of Epcot is a long shot. But our room assignors do honestly try so I'd just put "view of Epcot" as my request. Maybe with a DS3 climber you should consider a patio instead of a balcony? If you wanted to go that way, you should just request "first floor due to toddler". And if you want close to the lobby (and therefore closer to Epcot and the BC), you could put "first floor close to lobby" as your request.

We just arrived home from the BCV, we were in room 563 studio, excellent view of epcot. It is the last room, and a long walk to the marketplace, but the elevated to the quiet pool and parking lot, was a few feet away! We loved it! I do have pictures of the view, but I'm not sure how to post pictures on this site...PM me and I can send pictures via email if you would like.

You will love the Beach Club...Enjoy!:flower3:

Hello Teena! Welcome back! I think you might be away when we come for a short visit 7/28-30.:sad1:

I do have a question or two for you... Are the deluxe club level rooms a far distance from the elevators that will take us to the fifth floor lounge? I have three kids and was wondering how far a walk it was. Also, are those rooms far from the entrance of SAB? We are staying resort only and will be napping in room, snacking in lounge and swimming all day long. TIA

Not to hijack from the excitement over the new breakfast option -- which I definitely share! -- but...

We will be arriving for 5 nights at BCV on August 16. Does anyone know if the BCV rooms have been recently renovated? If so, any specific rooms or floors we should request? We have booked a 2 bedroom unit.

Thanks!

Teena, thanks for the infomation about breakfast! My son wakes up everyday asking for pancakes (not that I make them)! It will be great for me to be able to get them for him easily.

Could you let me know what is the best way to make a room request?

Ideally I would like to be close to the lobby and would love a real balcony. I'm not that concerned about the view and don't mind having to use the elevator. How difficult of a request is this?

Thanks!!!

Make your reservation as soon as possible. Then if a "deal" comes up later, you can modify/switch it to the "deal". Since you are booking two rooms on one reservation and the second room is for your minor children, you will definitely get connecting rooms, no worries. "Ground floor near epcot walkway please" would be a perfect request. Since you have to get connecting rooms, you might not get your location requests met since that limits us greatly as to where the rooms will be. Remember, we would have to have two connecting rooms that are open for check-ins on the day you check-in in the location you want. Yes, there will be two connecting rooms for you but will they be where you want them? We will try obviously but it's all a numbers game. Two connecting rooms open on your check-in day on the ground floor near Epcot might not be available. Rest assured though that the room assignors will try!

Hi Teena,
I hate to have to bring this up but when we stayed at BWI 2 years ago I had booked 2 rooms with "guaranteed connecting" due to 4 minor children knowing full well that it may not happen (from reading the boards) as it happened when we checked it they had us in one room on the Inn side on the 2nd floor and a studio on the villa side on the 4th. Of course this wouldn't work for us and after a couple of wasted hours dealing with the manager they put us in adjoining studios (not ideal but better) . So just an FYI, while it may not happen at bc/yc, I like to mention that its never 100% guaranteed connecting.

I would also like to know if there is a microwave available for guests to use either in the club lounge or in BC Marketplace?

Yes, the six deluxe rooms are a bit of a hike to the main elevators which take you to the fifth floor. Those are the same elevators you would take to go to the lobby which would take you outside to the pool. You pretty much need to come to the lobby to get to the pool no matter where your room is (unless you are in a first floor room ... there are no first floor rooms that have patios by SAB but there are first floor rooms that are near the quiet pool).

Those rooms were all rehabbed a few months ago.

I'd just make my request "full balcony near lobby elevators please".
