The Sea Witch Stole My Voice! Our Two Week Land and Sea Adventure! COMPLETE 4/12

You shouldn't be shy about it. They really don't mind. Each time I'm with someone who hasn't had the experience yet I ask. People get all freaked out like I've got an in or something even when I tell them I don't. :lmao:

I am just weird, I hate asking for things even when I know they don't mind. :confused3 Like I am way too shy to even ask to wait for the front on Soarin. :rolleyes:I just let Mom do all the talking, she is not shy at all!

 I don't know, a campground entitled Ft Wilderness implies that you may come upon some "wilderness". I am not a fan of bugs and snakes and other things you may encounter in a campground. :scared1:
that is part of the fun, haha, you will see a bunch of pictures and stories of it in my TR next summer

So I have been a bad reporter, I completely forgot about a fun little encounter we had earlier in the day! So rewind back to when Mom and I were walking through Tomorrowland towards Buzz Lightyear.

Mom and I were walking along when we spied a crowd gathered around a trash can laughing. I soon realized that it was PUSH! Mom and I got closer to watch, it was hilarious! I was able to get a small bit of video of him.

PUSH, The Talking Trash Can

Okay now lets Fast Forward back to Mom and I enjoying our delicious beverages in the Tambu Lounge.

It was so nice taking a break and enjoying a nice drink, certainly a welcome relief for my poor feet. I could already tell that that I had a blister forming thanks to my poor shoe choice the day before and all the water today. :sad2: I have never before gotten a blister at WDW, it is not fun!

After finishing our drinks Mom and I went and browsed around the gift shops for a bit.

Then we went and hopped back onto the monorail and made our way over to the Grand Floridian.

First we made a stop in Basin where we smelt all the lovely scented soaps. Mom ended up buying a bunch of soaps, bath salts and bath bombs.

Then we went downstairs and relaxed on one of the comfy couches for a while. The band was playing up on the second floor so it was a very nice and relaxing atmosphere and once again it served the purpose of getting me off my feet. They were hurting so bad at this point in the day that my Crocs were pretty much useless in providing any comfort and I could not stand to be on my feet for even a short period of time.

Mom and I had a dinner reservation at The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom for 7pm. I was now getting close to 6 so we decided to head back to the park and see if we could check-in early.

When we arrived at the podium they said that they would check us in but we still probably would not be able to get seated until our ADR time as they were very busy. We said we would like to check-in anyways as there was always the chance we would get seated earlier.

They handed us a buzzer and told us that it would work up and down Main St but no further. That was fine with us as we were only planning on browsing through the shops anyways.

Buzzer in hand we went and wandered around the stores. Of course as was the theme that evening I soon had to sit down and get off my feet. :headache:

We sat down in the quiet street that juts off of Main St. There was nobody back there at all, it was like we were all alone in the park.

As we were sitting there we heard singing coming from somewhere. We looked around and realized it was coming from one of the windows that was marked Voice Lessons, what a neat touch! After the singing lesson we then heard some tap dancing as the studio also offered dance lessons. I love Disney, they are all about the details, most of the time you wouldn't even notice these small touches but they do them anyway and it is always a thrill when you discover something new. :thumbsup2

It was getting close to 7pm so we knew that we would get buzzed any moment so we made our way back to the restaurant and sat outside. We only had to wait a few more minutes before we were buzzed, almost exactly at 7pm which was our original ADR time.

The Plaza is such a lovely restaurant. It is very small though so can not accommodate a lot of people.

Mom ordered The Plaza Club - smoked ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise layered on toasted multi-grain bread

I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich - grilled chicken breast topped with shaved ham and swiss cheese served on a flour-dusted Kaiser

So good, so good, SO GOOD! I could have eaten that for dinner every night and would have been in heaven. So so yummy.

After eating every last bite of my sandwich I was full but I knew that I had to have dessert as well. Mom opted out of dessert. :sad2:

The cheesecake was super delicious as well.

Our meal at The Plaza was fantastic! One of the best meals of the trip, I will definitely be going back again. My official review of The Plaza: Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!

It was drizzling as we left the restaurant. The original plan was to stay in the park to watch Spectro and Wishes. My feet just couldn't take it though and it was raining so who knew if the shows would even happen that night.

We made a stop in the Main St Bakery before leaving, I wanted to get one of their famous cinnamon rolls to eat for breakfast in the morning. It was huge! I had them put it in a to go container for me and then we were on our way out of the park.

Silly me made a mistake at this point. We walked on out through the turnstyles and bag check and then realized that the Express monorail to the TTC was actually inside past bag check. Doh!

I didn't want to take my poncho off to have my bag checked so we just decided that we would take the resort monorail. It would take a bit longer but would get us to our destination.

While waiting for the monorail a CM came up to me and told me jokingly that no food was allowed on the monorail and that he would have to confiscate my cinnamon roll! :scared1: Oh no you don't! I held onto that thing like my life depended on it and we had a little tug of war, each of us with a firm grip on it pulling it towards oursleves. He must have really wanted my cinnamon roll. :lmao:

The monorail arrived and I was able to depart cinnamon roll in hand. ;)

When we got back to the room I kicked my shoes off and jumped up on the bed and sprawled out. Sweet relief! The room was nice and toasty warm as mom and I had turned the ac off the night before. A nice warm room was just what I needed after a long wet day in the park.

I examined my feet and sure enough I had a nice big blister on my right foot and a smaller one on my left foot. Curse those stupid flip-flops! I also noticed that the rash was even worse than the day before. It was all over my arms, legs and even on part of my back and neck!

Mom and I decided that we would leave the room a bit early the next day and go find a drug store and buy some Benadryl hoping that that would help.

All cleaned up and in our pj's we settled down in our beds and watched a bit of tv before passing out for the night. I think it was the season finale of Without a Trace?

I feel asleep about halfway through the show so I never did get to see how it ended.

Great update Lessa! I love the Plaza too, great food. That cheesecake looks yummy. I have to take time out to check out that little street, looks like a nice place to sit and relax. Looking forward to more.

The Plaza was so good! On our past two trips I had made ADR's for it but we always ended up skipping it, I now regret that so much!

The cheesecake was delicious, nice and creamy.

Plaza is a fave of ours and a must!

My mom and I always have the sandwich you had.

And the fries!!!!!! Ok I'm drooling hehehe

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with your feet - that can really ruin your day.:sad2: I got a "hot spot" from the little brad on my crocs once, and I bought some moleskin at the GF gift shop - it was a life saver!

I'll have to try Plaza sometime - those sandwiches look really good, as do the homemade potatoe chips!:thumbsup2

I tried to not let my feet ruin the trip, it just meant a change of pace, stopping more to sit and relax which was nice as we got to take in things we had never seen before like that little side street and the musical window. :thumbsup2

I think the flip flops from the day before had made my feet really tender and then combined with walking around in all the rain that day caused the blister to form. If there hadn't been the rain the blister probably never would have happened, at least not to the same degree that it did.

Any chance of another update tonight?

I just continued packing and am in a real Disney mood :)

That sounds like a lovely, relaxing late afternoon. The dinner looks delish - this is not something I'd ever considered, but we might have to next time. :)
