Tut-Tut, it Looks Like Rain! May '09 Trip Report. *Finished! 9/27 Pg. 69.

Oh no! Your Epcot day surely was not going well, was it? Sorry to hear that. I hope the day gets better. At least you got some cool light fixture pictures.

Oh, no!!! I have to be honest with you - I've dreamed (had nightmares) about things like this. DH laughed at me for obsessively checking the ADRs on my list last time, but we'd changed them so often that I was sure I'd get the time wrong. I hope it got worked out!!

I feel the same way about foot pain, it really really makes me cranky. This day wasn't super bad but I was feeling very discouraged. I kept thinking this is my first full day and I'm this miserable, how is the rest of the week going to go? :headache: I also started to walk in a way to compensate for my blisters which just starts to make other parts of your feet, legs and even hips start to hurt. Sigh. Next trip I will have a comprehensive foot/blister/shoe plan. :thumbsup2

So you keep referencing your next trip-when is this next trip going to be? :confused3

For the blisters, try body glide on your feet next time. I read about it on a runner's website, so I gave it a try this weekend when the shoes I were wearing were starting to give me a blister on the back of my heel. It worked wonders! (I wasn't out running, just running errands). I'd just glide some on the bottoms, and sides of my feet and it should help.

This sounds like really had to struggle to have a good time at Epcot!! At least you had lovely company!! :goodvibes

Regarding blisters: I second If U had Wings tip about body glide! I regularly go on multi-day hiking trips and the last thing you want to get is blisters!! We usually use a product called Compeed, they have a stick with something like body glide, but they also sell the most wonderful band aids for blisters. I tried to figure out wether they are available in the US and found out that they are actually a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, but seem to be only active in Europe. However, I found out that Band Aid (the brand) belongs to the same company and they have something called Friction Block Stick and something called Advanced Healing band aids for blisters, which appears to be the same as the products I like so much!

Otherwise I would suggest to make sure that you wear shoes where your foot has a very good hold in them. Blisters come from friction and the more your foot is moving around in the shoes, the more blisters are likely.

And there is also the tip of wearing tight fitting socks, e.g. special running socks. This can also reducing the friction!!

Hope your next trip will be wonderfully blisterfree!! :goodvibes

Beautiful Epcot pictures! Hopefully, you can look back and find some happiness in them from a day that held some unhappiness.

That's too bad about your feet giving you so much trouble. I know what you mean about overcompensating - it just leads to trouble in other parts of the body. Been there, done that. Doing it now, actually. My knee is so bad I'm walking weird, so my calf muscle is big-time sore right now. I may have to resort to a cane or a crutch for my summer trip and then get started at the the doctor when I get back.

I'm looking forward to Le Cellier pictures...if you got in, that is. :)

Oh no sweetie!!!! I hope everything works out okay for you......and to think, you could have been there on time too!!!! :( I am hoping for some good news when you update next......soon, please?!?!?!?!?!!

Okay okay are you going to seriously leave that trailer....

Well, this past Nov I totally mixed up my ADR for Sci Fi and they were able to squeeze us in, so I am HOPING the CM did some disney magic for you...

Hoping... hoping...

BUT while I wait (cough, cough) and hope, and hope, and wait (cough, cough) I must say that I LOVE the pictures you shared. I have NEVER been inside the pavillions, only on the outside when we walked the WShowcase in the past -- I never knew there was more there!!!! :rolleyes1 Can you believe that?!? I had only been in Morocco and Germany... I am going to experience a lot of the WS @ Epcot for the first time, really, this trip!!! So your photos have been a treat.

Anyway, still waiting... (cough, cough, cough, cough, cough......) :rolleyes1
There are a lot to the pavilions! You will love exploring them. An update is on it's way. :thumbsup2

It was not going well. Epcot Overload was in full effect!

You can be sure that after this fiasco that I checked it multiple times, I never trusted my memory!

So you keep referencing your next trip-when is this next trip going to be? :confused3
Looked at my signature lately? I have a tentative trip planned for April 2010. It's going to be a short one though, probably 4 nights. My next BIG trip will either be December 2010 or January 2011. :thumbsup2

Body Glide. It's going on my mental blistergate 2010 list. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the information! I'm going to try many things between now and my next trip because I do not want to have miserable feet in Disney EVER again. The sliding around makes sense though since my crocs can be very loose fitting.

I do have happiness from this day but I also have lessons learned that I won't repeat. Every Disney trip can be a learning experience in many ways!

Oh no sweetie!!!! I hope everything works out okay for you......and to think, you could have been there on time too!!!! :( I am hoping for some good news when you update next......soon, please?!?!?!?!?!!
I know! That was the most horrible thing about it, is that we COULD have been there on time! :headache:

I updated for you..........now it's your turn! :goodvibes
It's on it's way. If I ask nicely again, will update? ;)

With my heart down around my ankles somewhere, I told the CM "Our reservation was for 12:50PM, we are late." I knew at this point I was a rambling fool. I was so mad at myself. WHY OH WHY DIDN'T I CHECK OUR ITINERARY!?!?! I think that in my head I knew our reservation was for around 1PM and somehow the 50 from 12:50 got remembered as 1:50PM. I was so mad at myself and really close to tears. Both Jen & I had been looking forward to this meal and the only reason we were still at Epcot at this point was because of this meal.

The CM found our 12:50 reservation and she said that she could put us on the waiting list but couldn't guarantee that we would be sat by 1:50PM. We thanked her and sat down. I was so close to tears. I kept saying that I failed at Disney Planning. I was so upset that we might miss the Finding Nemo show and I was just so ready for a meltdown. Looking back, I know it isn't as big a deal as I was making it out to be BUT I was upset, plain and simple. Jen was like my own personal cheerleader. She kept telling me over and over that it wasn't that big of a deal and that everything would work out fine. I kept thinking that I had a Le Cellier Curse. Last time with Marc, I was uber grumpy and miserable, we didn't stay for Illuminations and we took our dessert to go. Sigh. This was supposed to be my Le Cellier Redo with a good attitude!

We sat there probably for a good 15 or 20 minutes. It felt like forever to me, especially when I would watch the CMs print out the little slips and call a bunch of other parties to be seated. It amazes me at Le Cellier that we were the only ones inside waiting and party after party was called in from outside. Where they were waiting is beyond me because we never saw them outside when we walked in.

Finally we were called, it was before our pretend ADR time of 1:50PM so I was relieved with the Finding Nemo time crunch. We were seated...in the EXACT SAME table that I sat with at Marc in September. I took the opposite side of the table from last time so I could see the other half of the dining area. Jen told me no more grumpiness that everything worked out and that I couldn't feel bad anymore. Deal!

We had a great server though I can't remember his name. We kept hearing him repeat this spiel about straws, how at Le Cellier they are saving the environment one straw at a time so they asked you to re-use your straw if you had refills. I agree with this, I don't need a new straw all the time and half the time when servers do bring me a new one, I just transfer my old one to the new cup...that is how LL rolls. Anyhoo! We both ordered the exact same meal. *Drool*

While we waited we took some pictures.

That blur you see in Jen's picture is our Server. Hehehe. He tried to get into the picture. Jen asked him if he played hockey and he said that he was a basketball guy even though he was from Canada. I bet he gets asked that a lot.

Jen and I had a really nice lunch. We talked about our husbands and how we met, a little more about our backgrounds and such. It was just really nice to have such a girly chat with a dear friend. It was neat exchanging stories and talking more about how we have a lot of similarities. We talked about school, careers, our futures, EVERYTHING. In Jen, I have found a true friend for life. I was feeling a lot better about my crankiness but I was still really tired and dreading going to Animal Kingdom.

I will say that I feel very awkward taking pictures in Le Cellier since the tables are so close together, our party of two felt like we had the other two tables on either side joining us. But being the dedicated DISers we are, we took food pictures!

Delicous breadsticks! Jen and I both discovered that we are bread fiends. We would lament that most TS would give us three rolls. We got a lot of refills on our bread baskets!

Is it wrong that the fancy butter balls they give you make me feel fancy? I was unsure how I would feel about the cheese soup but it was really, really yummy. It was different then expected though but not in a bad way. If you are hesitant you should try it atleast once!

Everybody all together......*DROOL*

Oh, cream cheese mashed potatoes.....you make my tastebuds sing!

And for dessert....
553734458_mZMxp-M.jpg

KISS THE MOOSE....oops wrong Canadian steakhouse. :rolleyes1

We had a wonderful, tastebud singing, delicious meal at Le Cellier. I will be going back...and probably ordering the exact same things. Delicious.

I was significantly cheered up after everything worked out, I had a second wind if you will that lasted exactly 100 paces outside the Canadian pavilion and then it came crashing back down. My feet HURT. I was close to tears. I didn't want to ruin Jen's short time in Florida but I couldn't imagine going to AK and spending a few more hours walking.

As we treked back to the car I asked Jen if she would mind dropping me back off at ASMu. I just needed a break for my feet. She didn't mind at all. As we got to the car, Jen decided that she would probably take a break in the room too and then maybe head out for our ADR at Saana. I couldn't even imagine going out to Saana but said that I might want to do that too after I rested for a bit.

I was texting Marc back and forth in the car as we drove back to the resort and I was close to tears. I was just overwhelmed, in pain, not feeling good and tired. I was also getting angry at myself for being so down in Disney of all places. It was a vicious cycle I found myself in. :guilty:

Yay, they got you in!!!:cool1: And your meal looked delish!! YUM!! Love Le Celliar!!

And how wonderful that you found a forever friend in Jen, that is so cool, who would have thought from a chat board, you know? But I find myself saying that I have a few great friends from DIS, too! It's very cool!!!

Your poor feet and I'm sad you were feeling that way in WDW....I hope it doesn't continue.....but I hate to say, I have a bad feeling about that.....:guilty:

Oh, I am so happy that the CM was able to get you in for lunch at Le Cellier! Those cream cheese mashed potatoes look divine!!!

I hope you feel better after you rest!

HOW did I miss that you updated yesterday? Shame on me! Now I have twice the amount of stuff to comment on. In random order:

You are NOT making me feel better about leaving Le Cellier out of the upcoming rotation. :lmao: Mouth-watering indeed! Pretzel bread! Cheese soup! Cream cheese mashed potato! Chocolate moose! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I'm totally a beat myself up kind of person when things go wrong. So glad you had your own personal cheerleader there with you to keep you from doing that! :cheer2:

Your pic inside the Mexico pavilion is one of the best I've seen!! :thumbsup2

Agree with CP - that light fixture would look good in my house too!!

As for the artist of your silly face shirt, she put her design on her website on the internet. I'd say if she was concerned about protecting it, she would have done so. I'm sure the photopass person didn't mean to make you feel bad but BOO to him/her nevertheless.

I think your monorail shots were worth the wait!

I probably would have never noticed that in each park the icon is a balloon in the signs so thanks for pointing it out!

On the bright side, so glad it wasn't raining for your last two updates! :yay::yay::yay:

SO very sorry that your feet hurt so much. That's terrible.

I hope you both make it to Sanaa! :goodvibes

Jen truly is my forever friend. I am very lucky to have her in my life!

The trip has it's ups and downs, it's not completely perfect but not completely horrific either!

They are divine! They are so divine that I could eat them everyday!

Jen continues to be my own personal cheerleader. We balance each other out, she's the glass half full, I'm the glass half empty. It works! :thumbsup2

I have to credit Jen with those Mexico shots! She has a very similar camera to mine and hers turned out so much better than mine. I think I was trying to be too fancy with my settings. :rolleyes1

Yes, it was not raining! Yay! For the last two updates it was really sunny outside which made me want my sunglasses but I had left them in the room...or so I had thought. Later on that day I found them in my bag afterall. :rotfl2:

Great update! I'm so glad you made it into Le Cellier, that food looks so familiar....isn't it tasty?
Did you dip your bread in the soup? I either dip mine or smother it in the butter balls.
Gosh I feel bad about your feet.......:sad2:

Yummy, I love Le Cellier! Love cheese soup, pretzel bread, and filet. I have never tried the moose dessert, I will have to add that to my list of must do's if nothing else because it is just so darn cute.

I am so sad that your feet were hurting so bad. I hope they got better. :sad1:

You tease!!! I don't recall you updating us on Twitter that you actually got INto Le Cellier!!! ;):lmao:

I'm so sorry that you are in feet pain. The first time Randy and I went to Disney- I didn't walk ahead of time to get into "Disney shape" and I was miserable. I was popping Aleve like candy and it didn't touch the pain. I have now learned to buy better shoes and do plenty of walking.

I am back from WDW and I am all caught up on your report. Let's see if I can remember what I wanted to comment on:
1.I think the manatees are really cool too!:thumbsup2
2.I am so glad that Le Cellier worked out! I hate being late for anything so I can imagine how you felt.:sad2:
3.I think it is so cool that you and Jen found "forever" friendships.:goodvibes
4.I also really liked how the celebrate signs incorporated the symbol for each park. My DH noticed that each park had a different color.:)
5.I hope that your feet feel better during your trip. I know that when your feet hurt at Disney it is hard to enjoy anything.

I am thinking of starting a trip report. We had a really good time and we took a lot of pictures. I will let you know if I do!:thumbsup2

Is it wrong that the fancy butter balls they give you make me feel fancy?

When I was a kid, we always had lunch in the castle (long before it was CRT). One of my few memories is the butter pats with Mickey heads in them. That always impressed the crap out of me!!

I think your choices at LeCellier makes for the perfect meal...I could go for that right now!! (wishing for that drooling smilie again)

Oh, LL, I'm sorry you were in the funk. I am VERY glad to read things were a bit brighter once you got into LeCellier and had a great lunch! I hope you make it to Saana...(can't reall if you Twittered about that, or...?)

Thanks gals. Do you think more than true DIS'ers would "get it"? Even if it was only meaningful to DIS diehards that would be ok. Oh lord, I can see the pictures now. :lmao: I'd better start a regimine of lunges/squats if I'm going to be wearing a mini and rocking those yellow tights! :scared1: :lmao: :rotfl:

I think there is quite a following out there - even beyond the DIS! And even if people didn't get it, they would still think that's a great costume!

I'm with ya on the lunges/squats...:eek: :sad2::lmao:
