Looking at my to-do list, it may have been a mistake but I carved out the morning and spent it with my granddaddy at his retirement home. Y'all, he is so happy there. We had a lovely lunch there at the restaurant onsite and good conversation. He walked me to my car (to open the door, of course) and when I was driving away, he pulled up a rocking chair on the porch of the center and watched me go. I burst into tears and sobbed halfway to work. He says he's a loner and enjoys being by himself, and truly he really has seemed to prefer that, I just hated leaving him there in the rocking chair when I went on with life. I'm such a sap, I'm crying again. I have to get it through my head that not everyone is like me and enjoy people around.

It sound like you had a nice day with your granddaddy, he is very lucky to have you to spend time with him. Try to get some rest yourself.

Marisa, My goodness! I am glad you are getting the surgery next week but those other things... Please be careful!

Aimee, Glad you saw Granddad and he is happy! Please don't be upset...if he did not like it there, you would know. Does he get alot of visitors? I hope you have the energy for a movie with hubby!

Vickie, I am so sorry your boy is sick and you had a rough evening. I am glad that he is getting some rest now but you need to get some too.

Maria - They do thing its maybe a virus.

Apparently kids can get virus's which cause the glands around their tummy's to swell up and cause bad tummy pain.

Who knew !!


Im pretty sure i am first to arrive in October and I would be happy to make any ressies but i will not be attending FF.

I dont do fish !!

So youse will have to put aside a wee half hour to meet me for coffee and a bagel !!

Kat, was talking about going to FF so that would be a great place for everyone to meet......
Whoever has the earliest reservation should mark the day dinner ressies can be made, seems we are going to be a large group so tables will be hard to get.

Bellevue then FF then Brenda's bash, doesn't get any better than that!

Aimee, I'm the same as you, I'd have been sobbing as well. But he really seems happy so just think about that and the fact that he's safe and cared for.

So thats basically it, and I went for bloodwork this morning, I have a pre-op physical tomorrow at 10:30 and surgery next week.

Can you see why I was exhausted?

Marisa, so sorry you got all that bad news. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

What a night !!Just got back from A&E with the boy.

Thank God he's OK, hope you both get some rest.

Hey that would be nothing. Quite a few years ago my BFF calls me up all outraged, she got her pics back from a trip her family and I took together and there was one of her DH sitting on the toilet. She thought I had done it, she was so drunk she didn't remember doing it.

FF has some good food other then fish. My cousin, who is very picky, had a pork dish there that she loved.

RE = my fish situation.

This may make me a weirdo but my fish " problem " goes way beyond taste.

Smell and sight are just not good.

I really could not go to a sea food restaurant and enjoy myself.

California Grill would be awesome for me.

I would love to be able to sit and have a meal and a good chat with youse guys but I know sea food is what
floats yer boat ( pardon the pun ) so youse just crack on with booking FF.


If all i get is a hug and a hiya that would be enough.

Good Morning Ladies! Well, it is cold here so I am freezing!

You were chatty yesterday!

Gretchen- there is a lot on your plate! How is Hailey today? Please use us to vent, we can share this with you

Aimee- my aunt used to like to sit in her chair and just watch the folks in the hallway. I would cringe when I left, she would be just sitting there and would wave as I walked out the door. I was so sad for her but she genuinely enjoyed "watching the show". As much as we hated the need for her to be in that "home" she had so much more company, interacted with so many more people and had a much better level of care. I am sure the same holds true for you grandfather, but his living circumstances are not what you would have wanted for him. If I could change one thing about how we cared for her I wish that we had encouraged her to go there sooner. He quality of life would have been way better than we were able to give her. I know we all thought that we were honoring her wishes and doing the right thing but in reality we did her no favors. Please do not feel so badly

Maria- you must be so busy now that your trip in minutes away!

I wanted to buy shoes but we decided to go strait home so I wanted to go to West Farms and see if they had them there. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also bought two bathing suits. It was horrible. Thank goodness there was a saleslady who was brutally honest with me and helped me to sort through so many! I also had a coverup, it was apretty dress, that I wanted to wear on the porch here but even with my discounts it was way more than I could justify. Actually the suits were high too but even though I am kind of cheap with my day to day clothes I will pay good money for bathing suits. They need to do double duty, there is no hiding in one of those!

I am trying to narrow down our choices for the weekend. We only have two nights and I have a weeks woth or things to do and places to eat

Dinner will be burgers again. Buddy loves them and I have WW. I was grilling at 9 last night so I hope he gets home earlier tonight

Charlene- the show was really cute! She was the Foolish Little Hare in a skit that some of the kids were in. The last song was accompanied by Sign. I wish that this language was a part of the curriculum in grade school, it is beautiful.
