Tut-Tut, it Looks Like Rain! May '09 Trip Report. *Finished! 9/27 Pg. 69.

Your Illuminations pictures are awesome! What great seats!! And the fish & chips look so very tasty. I cannot recall from previous TRs, have you done the CS fish & chips too? If so, how do the two compare?

Your Best/"not so" moments make sense. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
I have had both and they are both delicious. At the CS fish & chips you get two smaller pieces of fish and at Rose & Crown it's just one big piece, everything else is the same though. Both were excellent!

Mmmmm...tasty! Me like rum!
I'm glad that the rain stopped enough so Illuminations wasn't cancelled!! And the highlights are a great idea!
I love rum, especially Malibu Rum. I have a little weakness. Jen had asked a CM earlier in the day if Illuminations would be canceled and he told us that they never cancel, that he had only seen in canceled once during a hurricane. Not sure how true that is but something to keep in mind!

What a great update LOL!!! Although yes ma'am I did try that blood sausage and I remember laughing at the look on your face when you tried it because I knew you weren't going to like it!! But as you said everything else was wonderful I would gladly get it again! The fish and chips were also amazing, next trip I am going to try to get them at Raglan's Road...of course you'll hear more about that when I finally get a PTR started LOL!!!

I can't wait for Day 2!!!! Bring it on Girl!!!!
Oh yeah, you did try it, a very small nibble if I am remembering correctly. Yes, they were so good. Oooh, can't wait to hear how the Raglan Road's are!

LL!!! I am all caught up again and happy to be! Just a great post from Illuminations, and your Rose and Crown meal!! I am thinking about that one for December! What a treat to see the fireworks from there!

Great post, enjoy your details!!! Will patiently await the next one!
:surfweb:
It was awesome, I would really recommend it and I'd recommend getting an ADR time around 7:50 or so like we did. :thumbsup2

YUM! Your Rose and Crown meal looks delicious!

It looks like you had a wonderful view of Illuminations too. What a great evening!

I'm sorry that your feet were hurting. That is the WORST.

It was a great evening, made for an awesome first night. I think we were both really feeling the magic!

My feet were hurting....but the worst is yet to come in regards to my feet.

Whew! Thank goodness you only updated twice while I was gone, LL ;). The Whoooos on Soarin' would have been a bit much, but hurray for getting front row! I have the BEST comment overheard in a line EVER about Ellen's Energy Adventure that I can't wait to share in my TR. I am still laughing about it! Dinner at Rose and Crown was delicious, wasn't it? We really enjoyed our meal there as well. You got some great pics of Illuminations.

I think I need to go for like a solid month so I can eat at all the places I want to eat at. Its so hard deciding. I am adding that glowing Star Cocktail to my list of drinks to try. :thumbsup2

Oooh, I can't wait to hear about the comment. I'm glad you liked Rose & Crown but more importantly did you like Brown Derby? I've been nervous about it all week!

Me too! I want to go for an extended period of time!

I'm so glad you had a great first night. We were all thinking of you.

Sorry about the foot pain. I can relate, because my whole right leg/knee/foot gives me a lot of grief in Disney World. It puts a damper on my love of walking, too!

Oh. My. Gosh. Brown Derby was hands down my favorite meal of the entire trip!!! I was in heaven the entire time there. I just wish I had the forethought of requesting a booth -- we had a table, and I kept looking over at the booths with longing.

Hijacking for a minute to say I'm so glad! :goodvibes I was also worried that after all the talking it up you might not like it and wonder what we were talking about. You liked it! :yay: Now back to LL's trippie. Where I am holding out hope for an update today. :rolleyes1

I am hoping to conquer the foot pain before my next trip because I can't take another trip like that, it's just too much!

Oh......I am so relieved that you loved it! I didn't even think about requesting a booth my first time either. Did you notice who the signature book was open too while you were there?

Aren't you so happy she loved it! I am finishing up an update now! :thumbsup2

I did look at the signature book, but they were names I didn't recognize and now I can't remember who they even were.

I think I could live on the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake for the rest of my life, and be perfectly happy.

Saturday May 23rd. Day 2 Part 1.

The alarm was set for about 7AM I think but we were both up before then, around 6:30AM. We were both ready to go. We were in Disney! We got up, showered and prettied up for our day.

I was really, really liking driving to the parks. I don't know if it was because Jen was driving that I liked it so much or if I would still like even if I had to drive but I didn't miss the bus to say the least. We made it to Epcot well before park opening, we scored a very close parking spot to which was nice. We lined up at the turnstiles waiting for the park to open, I think it was around 8:30 at this point.

Jen got these awesome pictures from behind the turnstiles.

I think they are really good since they were from quite a distance away.

Before too long, they started letting people into the park and we stopped to get our first photopass pictures of the trip. I don't have those yet but Jen did ask for a few taken with her camera.

I wish we had done some silly face posing like the ones on our tshirts, I think those would have made CUTE pictures!

The topiary and flowers were just beautiful, we hadn't been able to fully appreciate them in the rain the day before. I was so busy appreciating them and enjoying looking at them that I didn't even take out my camera! So unlike me.

We saw Daisy and Stitch greeting off to the side and we debated stopping but made the decision to keep going to the official rope drop area.

While we were waiting.

We were too far back to really see any of the characters come out or anything. We had formulated the plan that Jen would line weave to get our Fastpasses and I would meet her inside. As we were walking toward The Land, it started raining. :crazy2:

Jen got our fastpasses and they were for about an hour later. We hopped into the standby line, which wasn't too long. We waited maybe 20 minutes but I don't even think it was that long. While we were waiting, one of the CM's asked if they had 2 people willing to ride apart, I looked at Jen and she nodded and we raised our hands. We knew we would be riding at least once more together so we decided to get on faster. There was a front row and a back row available. Jen was kind enough to let me take the front row again, and I asked her about 50 times if she was sure and she was so we lined up. We both enjoyed our second Soarin' ride. Jen had never ridden in the last row and she liked seeing the different perspective. Wooooo!

After our soar, we hopped over to Living with the Land while we waited for our fastpass time. We had a nice front row seat.

Super Dwarf Wheat being developed by Nasa.

I saw a lot more plants and crops on this tour of Living with the Land, more of a variety than I had seen on previous trips. It was nice, it makes every ride a little bit different.

After our boat tour through the lands, Jen stopped to go into the bathroom and I was looking at the little gift shop area they have in the pavilion. I found a souvenir I wanted to buy, a cute little plant. It was a plant developed from cell regeneration instead of a seedling. It's in a little glass jar and they had a few different varieties. I showed Jen when she got out of the bathroom and she encouraged me to get it. I went over to buy it, I choose a cute pink plant with a not so Disney name that I don't dare type on these family boards but the scientific name is Celosia Cristata. Jen teased me that I only bought it because of it's name. :lmao: I asked about having it sent back to the room but the CM said because it was a live plant that they couldn't do it in case it was ruined. I said okay and Jen said she would carry it in her backpack, she really was the greatest during this trip. My plant made it home intact. It's in a sterile environment, it gives instructions to transfer it but I am afraid it will die. It sits on my desk at home and I like staring at it. I even have another plant shoot developing, I know I will at least wait until that completely breaks through before attempt transplanting it.

I also completed my very first official pin trade! I traded the pin that was stuck in my Croc for a baby Mulan pin. They have this wicked cute series of baby princesses and I really liked them but didn't want to spend $25 for the set myself so it was a worthy pin trade!

By the time all of this was done, it was time for our Soarin' Fastpasses. We quickly made it through the line and we were WOOO! from the front row once again without even asking. I love Soarin', it is seriously one of the best rides EVER.

As we headed out of The Land pavilion we were relieved to see that the rain was gone for the time being...but would it stay away??

Hurrah for an update!! Up at 6:30am?? :scared1::eek::scared:

You two look adorable in your pink princess t-shirts! You're right making funny faces would have been a good photo. Next time! :thumbsup2 So, clearly I have never made it to rope drop. Where is the rope if you're able to come in through the turnstiles and see some of the topiaries? :confused3 At Spaceship Earth, maybe? The topiaries look beautiful, by the way. Glad the rain stopped long enough for you to enjoy!

I love The Land too! What a cute souvenir. I googled the name of your plant. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the Sunday update. You know how I love those! :goodvibes

Great update. I love the land. Last trip was the first time I went on it and now I am hooked. I think I need to see a picture of your pink plant with the not so nice name. ::yes:: I may need to buy one in August and need to know what I am looking for. :upsidedow

Great update. I love those princess topiaries at the front gate! So cute.

OK, I googled the plant :lmao: my mom used to have those in her flower garden! They are really pretty when they get the "head" on them.....;)

My SIL and I took the "Behind the Seeds" tour in 2007 - it was really interesting, and only $15, so we thought it was pretty worth it. You might want to check it out sometime if you enjoy The Land. I didn't know you could buy plants there - I might have to go check that out!! I can tell people that it's a Disney plant...and maybe I'll have incentive to not let it die of water deprivation that way....:rotfl:

Glad you had a dry morning. It makes a big difference, doesn't it? I just love Soarin'. I can't wait for next summer....

Great updates!!
