Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

I'm glad you decided to have an easy morning at the resort - sounds like it was just what you needed. I LOVE the glasses case!! I wish I had seen that when we were there - I totally would have bought one.

Can't wait to hear about T or T!

I am glad you are back. I hope that means all is well with the new baby. I enjoyed hearing about your relaxing day. We never do that at Disney World, and probably should.

Day 6 Friday October 31, 2008

We saw this on our way to lunch.

On the way back to the room we stopped at the pool bar. I got a non-alcholic Lava Smoothie ($4.29)

I have been craving these since I finished this one! It was YUM-O!

DH got a non-alcholic Orange Burst ($4.29); it was very good as well.

It was now about 2:15pm and we slowly made our way back to our room to get ready for Trick or Treating.

Nothing like a relaxing day at the resort....

Drinks in a baby stroller..even better...even if the drinks are non-alcoholic....;)

Good call on moving seats at lunch! :thumbsup2
Kathy

I would have sat outside on the razor sharp grass if it meant no meltdown from Liam.

I'm glad to hear that even though you didn't go out it was still a good day. I swear that sometimes those down days by the pool are more necessary than anything else. When I was a kid we'd always have two when we went to Disney. Great time to decompress!
I can't wait to be able to add the waterparks into the mix when the kids get older because that's pretty much like hanging out at the resort.

:yay: an update from Heidi!!!!

Love the picture of the duck....:rotfl:
Isn't it crazy how we all love to take pictures of the "wild" life at Disney!

I love the sunglass case you picked out, it is super cute. Sounds like you had a good lunch with some very cool slushy drinks after. I love a good slushy drink.:thumbsup2
I hope to make a grey goose slushy my next slushy drink in WDW!

Ahhhh...what a nice relaxing day! Our "down days" stand out as some of our favorites. Everyone is rested and you can adjust on the fly more easily to accomodate the needs of your toddler! That makes Momma happy, doesn't it? :goodvibes

I can't wait to see Liam in his costume!! :cutie:

I actually finished that book on this day that I was reading....that made me very happy as I haven't had time to read in such a long time.

Yeah an update!

I heart resort days!

I have another update in the works....just have to get the baby to sleep longer than a half hour during the day.

I only saw that sunglass case at the gift shop at CBR. I'm really happy that I got it for myself.

Danica is doing great...very healthy and a pretty easy baby to deal with.
I alway suggest to everyone to have a non-park day in the middle of their vacation....we do it every trip...this trip just got a few extra!

:lmao: And I can double fist it if need be...double cup holders in the stroller!

Sounds like a great time at the resort.

Nice pic of the duck. :rotfl2:

Yay! An update!!

I think resorts day are very good things. This last trip has made me a firm believer in scheduling one or two per trip!

It was....it's funny but I really enjoyed reading my book that day.

I like one in the middle and I think we will try one at the beginning again until the kids are older....it's nice to have time to adjust and not feel rushed.

Day 6 Halloween continued

I will warn you ahead of time that I seem to have taken the day off from picture taking on this relaxing day of vacation. I guess I was out of the groove so I pulled a couple pix from the PTR to help with this update.

I can’t believe that I didn’t get a picture of the three of us in our costumes….I didn’t even manage to get good pictures of DH and Liam in their costumes. We were going as the Super Sleuths from My Friends Tigger and Pooh. I was Darby (purple shirt and hat); DH was Tigger (blue shirt and hat); and Liam was Pooh (Disney store bought costume); and we had a plush Buster with us as well.

DH and I had made his blue shirt and our hats with iron-on transfers that we designed.

My plan for the evening was to go trick or treating at DTD and have dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace side). Trick or Treating was scheduled from 5pm to 9pm.

I had wanted to get there about 4pm but we ended up getting there just before 5.

I’m so glad we got there early! You should have seen the people there already. The lines for the trick or treating were still manageable so we did that first.

Here’s the flyer for the event:

We went to all the spots in the Marketplace except Once Upon a Toy…the line was too long by the time we got to it. And we did go to the Pleasure Island spot after dinner.

Here’s our candy:

Besides candy, we also got 2 decks of Pooh and Friends memory card games. It was a promo thing but it was nice just the same.

The trick or treat lines go thru the stores; not outside the buildings so I wouldn’t plan on doing much shopping during trick or treating because it makes it really hard to get around in the stores.

The Marketplace candy spots took us only about ½ hour to do, so by 5:30pm we were at WPE ordering food. It was a nice night so we sat outside. DH got the Meatball pizza ($13.95), I got the Four Cheese pizza ($10.95) and we got a side of fries to share ($3.95) and a drink ($2.65) Total with tax $33.55 plus a couple bucks for a tip for our food delivery guy. We must have bought food for Liam, but I’m sure he had some fries too. Everything was Delish! We will be eating there again.

After dinner we just walked around the Marketplace and over to Pleasure Island. It was fun to check out everyone’s costumes. I heard a couple different people comment (to themselves) about us being the Super Sleuths and how cute we looked. There was a ton of kids in pirate and princess outfits so if your kids want to stand out of the crowd I would suggest thinking of something else to go as. Everyone that had a more original costume seemed to get a lot of positive attention from the crowds.

After that we headed back to the resort. I don’t really know what we did for the rest of the night at the resort (probably watched tv) but I do know that I went and got a Chocolate Chip cookie from the OPR.

Next Up: Day 7 and getting back on the plan (with tons of pictures!)

I think homemade costumes are the best, I think they do get the most attention and are often the cutest. At least in my opinion! :goodvibes Sounds like Trick or Treating at DTD was a success! I want to try Wolfgang Puck Express on my next trip, I have heard nothing but good things about there.

I think the DTD Halloween thing is a good option if the ticket prices for MNSSHP are too much for your family's budget. We didn't get to do the other things like the story telling or the dance party but I bet that would be fun for a lot of kids.

You're right about WPE....I can't seem to recall any really bad reviews of the place.

I love the costumes you came up with!! I'm glad you guys had a low key day and you didn't stress about taking pictures. Sounds like it was just what you needed. I can't wait to hear about your next park day.

Aww, your family costumes were so clever! I love Pooh Bear!! pooh:

But, since my kids are so much older now, I haven't really seen The Super Sleuths. We don't watch a whole lot of Playhouse Disney anymore. (Yet Billy always wants to see the show at DS!) :confused3

There's a lot more Halloween activities at DTD than I had realized! If Liam had been a bit older, he would've really enjoyed them.

He looks darling in his costume!

Kathy

Glad to see some updates Heidi! :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing non-park day. Trick or treating at DTD sounds like so much fun! And you ate at my new favorite restaurant. :thumbsup2

Loved the costumes!

What a great costume idea!!! Liam looked adorable as Pooh! :cutie:
Sounds like a fun, relaxing and sucessful evening. We love WPE too-so tasty!

I am so glad the 3 of you had a very fun Trick or Treat night and food and mood were happy!

:goodvibes :yay:

for you and this great Disney Day, hope it was the turning point!

Joining your trip report. My family was there Nov.1st through th 8th. Maybe we ended up at the same park on some of those days before you guys left.
