Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

I'm glad to hear you had a good time trick or treating! I had wondered what that event would be like, and it sounds like a lot of fun.

It sounds like you had great costumes. I am glad that you all enjoyed your Halloween. I have been reading several Halloween reports and now I want to go at that time.

I love the costumes you came up with!! I'm glad you guys had a low key day and you didn't stress about taking pictures. Sounds like it was just what you needed. I can't wait to hear about your next park day.
I so want to find so time to start writing the next park update.

Aww, your family costumes were so clever! I love Pooh Bear!! pooh:

But, since my kids are so much older now, I haven't really seen The Super Sleuths. We don't watch a whole lot of Playhouse Disney anymore. (Yet Billy always wants to see the show at DS!) :confused3

There's a lot more Halloween activities at DTD than I had realized! If Liam had been a bit older, he would've really enjoyed them.

He looks darling in his costume!

Kathy
I was really happy that I had decided against going to the MNSSHP party before we left home...so DTD turned out to be perfect for us this trip.

Glad to see some updates Heidi! :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing non-park day. Trick or treating at DTD sounds like so much fun! And you ate at my new favorite restaurant. :thumbsup2

Loved the costumes!

It was a very relaxing day.

What a great costume idea!!! Liam looked adorable as Pooh! :cutie:
Sounds like a fun, relaxing and sucessful evening. We love WPE too-so tasty!
I food all your food porn from WPE!

Great update!! Liam looked adorable in his costume :thumbsup2.
Thank you :wizard:

What a cute costume idea! DTD sounds like a fun place to go for Holloween!
I love to theme costumes so it worked out really good for us.

I am so glad the 3 of you had a very fun Trick or Treat night and food and mood were happy!

:goodvibes :yay:

for you and this great Disney Day, hope it was the turning point!

By the mid-point of the vacation we pretty much knew what we could and could not do with Liam and that helped a lot.

Joining your trip report. My family was there Nov.1st through th 8th. Maybe we ended up at the same park on some of those days before you guys left.

:welcome: We still have AK and Epcot coming up

I'm glad to hear you had a good time trick or treating! I had wondered what that event would be like, and it sounds like a lot of fun.
DTD seemed really low key that night....lots of families but not overwhelming in crowds or what Disney had for entertainment/activities.

Liam's costume is adorable! I'm so glad you all had a great time.
Thanks....I had worried that he would be too hot in it but the weather that night was fine. Up here in NH your Halloween costume has to fit over your winter jacket!

It sounds like you had great costumes. I am glad that you all enjoyed your Halloween. I have been reading several Halloween reports and now I want to go at that time.

I loved all the Mickey-pumpkins that were everywhere.

Yeah! An update!

Very cool to go to DTW treat or treating! So fun!
Beats our neighborhood anyday!

Yeay! I came home to a Heidi update!!! Great costumes!!! Sounds like a truly lovely evening!
Now if I can just get another update up before your next trip!

Day 7 Saturday November 1 2008

To recap what our plans were and what they became:

Yesterday (Day 6) the plan was to go to AK for an 8am Tusker House ADR and stay until late afternoon, then go to DTD for Trick or Treating. We skipped AK but did go to DTD.

Today (Day 7) the plan was to go to MK for the day with an ADR for The Plaza Restaurant at 5:30pm.

Since our first day at MK was a bust…not being able to do any rides and Animal Kingdom being a park that I love, we decided to go to AK today. The major plus with this plan is there are very few rides that Liam would have been able to do anyways so we weren’t going to miss much except the Nemo Show and FOTLK (both of which he will love when he is older).

The night before I got out my GREEN marker and wrote up a new touring plan for AK.

I’m writing this off of my memory, the photos, some receipts and the new touring plan I wrote up…so please bear with me if it’s lacking details……Here we go!

We arrived at AK very near 9am…we had missed the little opening show but we weren’t very find behind.

Since I haven’t been able to ride Everest yet (pregnant the last 2 trips and it was being built during our 2005 trip) we head straight for Africa and the Kilimanjaro Safari.

First we grabbed Fast Passes for KS to use in the afternoon, and then we jumped in the stand-by line to ride. (The extra FP ticket I have tells me that we got it at 9:17am…not bad to get from the gate back to Africa within 15 minutes or so!) We like to ride KS at least twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon…we tend to have different animal sightings during each ride.

I gotta say…it was really nice to have had ridden KS before trying it with a toddler for the first time. We knew that the stroller parking was actually off to the side about half way thru the queue. And before we boarded our jeep, I knew to ask for row 2 or 3. The back of the jeep is WAY too bumpy for a little kid at the end of the ride when it speeds up…heck I don’t even like the back.

Liam did really well on the Safari; he sat with his Dad and looked around.

Yay!! An Update!!

I love that hidden Mickey - I saw it this year for the first time, but it was too late to take a picture of it. :headache:

Sounds like you guys are off to a good start. :goodvibes

 an update!

Way to go Liam, so glad you enjoyed this ride!

Danica has started napping during the day so I got a chance to write today.

I can't think of any drama that happened at AK....maybe some will come to me as I look at all the pictures for that day....but yes we were off to a good start.....only took 7 days! :lmao:

 an update!

The hidden mickey is the "dirt". The whole "island" is in the shape of a mickey head.

Thank you for the update, hon! I love the pictures from the Animal Kingdom. I love all the parks, but the theming of that one just gets me. :cloud9:

And it's too funny about that hidden mickey! I love it. :thumbsup2

Hurray for an update!!! I am so glad you decided to go to Animal Kingdom -- it's my favorite park! :lovestruc

I love these pictures -- I have never even spotted all of this stuff coming off the safari -- I need to make a note to look for them next time.

I love your pics of the theming at AK. They are wonderful.

I was just thinking how big Liam has gotten since these pics were taken. He looks so much bigger in the ones you posted recently.

Ahhhh, AK! I love the theming-it makes for such beautiful pictures.

I'm very glad to hear Liam did well on the Safari! Henry was a bit iffy on it in November. Good idea about asking for the first 2-3 rows, I'm gonna remember that one, we were in the 2nd to last row and it was BUMPY and the during the end I was holding onto my baby soooo tightly! :scared:

Great installment!! I love AK, the theming is fantastic. It looks like you are off to a great day. I hope it stayed that way .
