Meeting the podcast crew on PCC 1.0

Then I embarrassed myself pretty bad after the wine tasting when Kevin was asking questions. He asked if anyone had a question to ask fellow cruisers to win a prize, and I said When is my birthday! :sad2: Kevin gave me a look, and I knew I said something dumb :headache: but by this time I had lots of alcohol.

I had a moment like this too, so don't feel bad.:rolleyes1 Poor Kevin.

At the Podcast taping KK thought I did that too :lmao: :lmao: My mind multi-tasked: he was serious? laying on dry wit?? tired??? in need of a snack??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: By this time KK must have wondered why he got on a ship with all of us :dance3: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I felt I didn't want to intrude/overwhelm either but that didn't stop me from turning around :lmao: when I heard a familiar voice behind me in the queue to enter AP..."Are you...Teresa??" She was so gracious with her stardom :lmao: and I met Grace, Stella & Kelvin too! ;)

However, still in that 'not want to bother' mode, I didn't meet the rest of them until at the Heads Up Bar...lurked at a table where Pete was holding court :worship:, and then John came by. When I said hi, and told him I hadn't met him yet cuz I didn't want to bother them (I thought EVERY Dis'er had met EVERYONE by this time :goodvibes) he was FAB in dragging me over - he's a big guy who moves fast! :teleport: - to meet Kevin too! Woot!! :thumbsup2

I just said hi to Kathy at the Podcast taping but had a nice little conversation with Corey & Julie at the Goofy's Goodbye - they were incredibly friendly and welcoming too! :goodvibes My best time was sitting on Deck 9 chatting with Pete & Walter and other Dis'ers. :cool1: Thx a mint Podcast Team for all being so great!! :thumbsup2

So I guess I wasn't alone ...great thread OP ;) I didn't meet anywhere near all the Dis'ers but I did meet quite a few and especially enjoyed the conversations and getting to know some a little better. :grouphug:

I  the way the Podcast Team didn't stage anything. They made themselves readily available and just let meetings/intros happen organically. If mtg them was a priority, you were able to do it easily. They just let things happen in each Dis'ers own time...refreshing to see that the Podcasters are just like the Podcast, nice and laid back :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

Hey Karen! :wave2:

I love how you call KK, like that email that time that said he was emotionally broke or some baloney!.... it's so funny. It was very nice meeting you, you are so funny. You got a shout out on the podcast this week too! We are famous now! WOO! Hehe.:cool2:

Hey Kim :wave2: Great mtg you too, too bad near the end of the cruise! It's been hard this wk to find time to listen to the podcast :sad2: but I saw your post and thought, what shout out?! So I went outside "to garden" :lmao: and caught up :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Congrats on your mention too...glad neither of us were the reference of smelling like butt :rotfl: OMG :rotfl: :rotfl: (sorry Melissa, I'm sure you're lovely :lmao:)

cheers,
:flower3:

We didn't get to meet many other Dis'ers either. We're pretty quiet folks and don't put ourselves out there too much. I wish I would have met more of you. There seems to be some lasting friendships that were made that I would have loved to be part of.

Chris

Same here for us, Chris. We are majorly introverted, and now that I'm trying to get more involved online (again), I'm really missing the personal interaction that we should have done more of on the cruise. I talked to everyone on the crew at some point, but I didn't really interact to the extent I could have. We at least got to have about 30 minutes with Lee Cockerell at the Podcastaway party; that's a memory that's going to live forever.

Oh, well, there's always DAP and 2.0...

[Writes name in to-meet list] The Extro's will FIND you... ;)

We're an INCLUSIVE bunch, after all... Susan and I tried (but failed) to meet everyone; lotsa stuff to do on PCC 1.0!!

With way more people onboard for 2.0, it'll be a challenge, but don't feel bad if you don't meet everyone....I think that's un-possible! (Ralph from The Simpsons)

We had a blast and we all will again!

I met everyone at one point or another. I was in the elevator with Cathy. I talked to Teresa a few times. Saw Kevin and John at the Muddy Buddy plus at the Castaway Cay party. Pete sat with Kim, and I on Castaway Cay for a little while. I think Katherine was there also. Todd and I saw Corey, Julie and Ferris on the 8th at the Dolphin.
I can't wait for the ABD trip. It is going to be a blast!!!

I still haven't met Buddy:dogdance: ...:sad2:

Having everyone together for the first time was a bit overwhelming. There was no way to meet everyone. I'm ashamed to say that there was a couple of times that people would walk up to me and say "hi Paul" and continue on with a conversation but I didn't remember meeting them before! :sad2: My memory must be going. We should ensure next time that we make the screen name the big bold font on the lanyard!! PCC 2.0 is going to be controlled madness!!! :scared1:

We have decided to adopt Deb's (LeftInNorway) solution.:thumbsup2

We are enlisting her to stand at the gangway and identify each and every one of you with indelible Sharpie to the forehead.:rotfl:

This will not only serve as identification, but it will allow everyone to maintain eye contact.

And who knows....we may create a cruise trend......like hair braiding.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Add one's cabin number (a la Todd) in addition to the name and you may be on to something! :thumbsup2

...What...did I hear wedding?.....

Two weddings! Don't forget about J/Kim and Susan. They won't escape this time.

I was hoping we could write a little lower. :crowded:

said that he had hoped we would meet up with a few more people and actually get to know them better. We were with my sister and brother-in-law so we usually stayed with them. We did get to meet the whole crew except for Cathy. I saw her several times, just not where I could get to her to introduce myself. I do wish we had actually been able to get to know people better, just not enough time. I think a seven day cruise would be great. More time at sea so we could get to know each other better. The Podcase Team was great and very gracious when we talked with them. I just can't wait until the next cruise.

If I was making eye contact with someone who hard Sharpie all over their forehead I think I'd laugh too hard to be taken seriously during a conversation.

THANKS! I hope to meet you also. I have always thought your daughter's picture was adorable. I am a Grandmother of 3 and of course I know a cute child when I see one and yours is adorable.
