*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Good morning ladies! I just wanted to pop in and say hi before I head out to the kitchen.

Molly--I'm dancing for you girl!

Have a great day! I'll try to check in later!

I am lost...........

I'm thinking that Heather had a flood? And is getting new carpet? :cool1:

Is someone making a digital scrapook perchance?:confused3

A new T-shirt design?:hippie:

What else is going on?:confused::confused::confused:

Oh Billy Hill fans........................Does Kirk usually perform on the weekends? I want to take my Mom and Sisters to see the Billy Hillbillies, and want to make sure that he is the one performing that day.

Thanks!

I think Kerry is making a digital scrapbook. I think some other people said they were going to work on t-shirt designs, but I have not seen anything yet.........

Morning all! Wow you guys have been chatty. WHEW. I don't know if I can even remember everything.

Poor Heather you have really been in for it! Well at least you are getting all new carpet and a new dryer. Hopefully that is a good thing maybe? I am sorry for all this mess. I know I would be stressing out over all that. ((hugs)) I hope it gets better soon!

Linda, LOVE the pics. It looks like that was a LOT of fun and the food looks YUMMY! Brianne looks so cute! You guys are so cute together! Glad you had a blast!

Mom and dad are still up in Truckee golfing with their friends for one more day so I am staying home and have a date with my laundry and cleaning house! Things at work are really complicated and it is just easier when she is there because things are kind of in negative numbers. It is really complicated but I kind of need her there to tell me what to pay and what not to. Creative bill paying. Pay this not that. It is crazy but that is what must be done in this economy when things are crazy and when you are in this business. Luckily things are not as bad for her personally finally but still it is crazy at work and it drives me nuts trying to figure it all out. I am NOT looking forward to when she goes to Mexico next month cuz she knows how she has it all worked out.

Anyway it is starting to get pretty hot here. We have our big Pow Wow days parade this weekend. I hope it is not TOO hot. Last year it was over 100 and SUPER hot. My parents are actually going to go and watch the girls march in the parade for once. So that should be exciting. There is a LOT coming up in the next few weeks. Lots of meets and the girls parade and they are getting baptized and the last week of school and the end of Awana at church and just tons of stuff. Plus my parents are leaving for almost 2 weeks. So it is going to get crazy round here. Plus mom and I STILL need to figure out where to stay in D.C. and get a game plan about what we want to do etc.

I don't have Lynn this summer to watch the girls so I have to deal with what to do with them when I go to work and have my doc apts etc. I must admit it is getting a little overwhelming thinking about it all. That is where my anxiety disorder kicks in is I start thinking about all this stuff and I stress over everything and put myself into a tizzy worrying about everything. And it is so hard not to cuz that is just how my brain is wired. But anyway nuff about that.

Swim was interesting last night. They told us that the other mom I work with got kind of in trouble because she was yelling at the kids and actually grabbed one of them so I don't know what is going to happen there. I was like they didn't say anything about ME did they cuz I know "I" didn't yell or do anything to them. And they said no it wasn't me. So it should be interesting to see what goes down with that. She is just a real type A person so I think she just took her job WAY too serious and the parents didn't like it. So I don't know what is going to happen with that. Should be interesting to see though!

Then tomorrow we have church again and I have not heard yet if we are supposed to decorate the float yet for Saturday. That was supposed to happen Friday night. If not we may go try to see Star Trek since we didn't get to see it on Sunday cuz of my headache.

So that is my plans for the week. Hope everyone is having a good day and week so far.

Talk later. :)

Hi Melody! :goodvibes

Kirk performs every day they have a show now which is Thurs-Mon. So, yep, you should see Kirk on a weekend, unless he's got a scheduled vacation.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, you guys are so sweet.:cutie:

LOL, I just have to post that the ad at the bottom of my page is for a Dryer duct cleaning service. I am so sorry that happened to you, Heather, but at least they did get a maintenance guy out there.

Kelly, I know what you mean about your girls, my two co-workers both have kids and don't know what to do with them this summer. They are looking for grandparents & relatives and such to alleviate the high cost of fulltime daycare.

Have a great day ladies, check in with you later!:)

Morning ladies!!

Heather, sorry about the hassles you are still dealing with. But I'm glad you're getting new carpet and a new dryer.

Kelly, you sound like you will be busier than ever!!

Molly, where you at girl? You're being nominated left and right here!

What else? Oh yeah. Creepy dancing baby, but Ally McBeal rocked!

Courtney, you're not missing anything important on FB. Just Diva silliness. lol

I can't remember what else I wanted to say. Should've multi-quoted. Oh well. Hope you are all having a good morning so far!

Thanks for the info Theresa!

Good Morning! Happy Tuesday!
Same to you Miss Sarah!

Well that was a nice quick reply! Thanks! I'm trying to make some kind of an itinerary for our upcoming trip. We will have 4 days, but with my Mom being 85 and all, it would be nice to know what days for inside shows, parades and all. I don't want to have to go back and forth alot. Same with my Sister with the cancer. Not sure how she will do. Normally she is like me...........a real commando type and go go go............and loves all the rides. I'm anxious to see her, and see how she is doing. All of her hair is gone, so she will be donning hats and scarfs. She hates her wig. Says it itches like heck!:headache:

Did I mention that we will also be going to Club 33 on this trip? Yep! :goodvibes

So Heather you can take me off of the bribery list.......:rolleyes1:rotfl:

Oh, my older kids are home from school today. Not a planned absence either. The dumb school bus never showed up this morning. Usually the bus picks them up about three blocks away at 7:20. They get there around 7:16 to make sure they don't miss it. Well, at 8:16, one hour later, still no bus!

We called the school and they were like "We have three buses running late, we know. Thanks." Click.
Uhhh, ok. How rude. *****. So after my kids, and several others were left standing on a street corner for an hour they finally just walked home. I don't have the mini van, Ruben does, so I had no choice but to let them stay home.

Now I don't know if this will be an unexcused absence or not as I'm sure eventually a bus showed up, but seriously, how long are you supposed to leave kids hanging around on a street corner before it just becomes ridiculous? :confused3 And we didn't even have an estimated time of arrival, just one rude sentence and a hang up.

Whatever. I told them not to worry about it. They are in their rooms reading now.

Ditto to what Beth says! She helped me trim down my multiquoting by giving me the cliff notes (this is exactly what I am going to need for the next week, so keep it up!)

Mel, how fun for your family to make these kinds of memories, especially given your sister's health and your mom being able to still do Disney in her 80s! Have a wonderful time at Clubb 33. It truly is the kind of place to do a once in a lifetime celebration!

Yay for the Clark County school district. Only the finest for us here in Las Vegas. And to think... this is before the budget and salary cuts for next year!

That is just plan weird! I cannot believe that! Who does that :confused3

That's wonderful news! I'm so happy to hear that. It will make what is already a special trip, even more so. :goodvibes

Amen!

I dunno. I did find it hard to believe that in an hour they couldn't get their act together. Or at least tell the parents calling in, because I'm certain many of them were, what to expect, or an apology or something. I'm sure she was frazzled but no need to be rude and hang up on someone.

Oh well. No big deal I guess. It's almost the end of the year, I doubt they are missing much. And I'm not so old that I can't remember as a kid when something would happen and for some reason we'd have an unexpected day off from school, that just made it the best day ever. :rotfl:
I'll let them read for a bit longer, and then maybe we'll watch a movie or bake some cookies, or something. Might as well enjoy the time with them. :)

Mel I hope your sister enjoys the trip and that is so awesome that you guys get to go to Club 33. SOME day I hope to go there!! Take lots of pics for us!! :)

And Beth that is just unacceptable. I don't care how frazzled she is there is no excuse to be rude. And that is just dangerous to leave kids standing that long. That is why I don't let my kids ride the bus because I have always been afraid of something like that and who knows what could happen. I would def be ticked at her attitude. But at least like you said you can have a fun day anyway! ;)

I have to make 2 apts today and have called both docs office and got no answer on one and a busy signal since YESTERDAY at the other so I just gave up and said to heck with it LOL. I have just been on here and tackling my unending mound of laundry LOL. Have you ever noticed how those laundry piles never seem to get any smaller. HMMM.... And I just got an e-mail that swim was cancelled tonight because the pool pump broke. I can't say that I am sad about that LOL. I just wish it was tomorrow night though cuz tomorrow is when they have church and that way they could actually go for the entire time for once and not miss it! Plus since church is almost over for the year they are letting them have themes each week and the girls can't really do anything cuz they have to come straight from swim. Like tomorrow is twin day. I feel bad for them cuz they really want to participate but can't. Oh well. At least it is almost over. I hate to admit it but I am glad cuz that is one less thing we have to deal with. ;)

Anywho I hear the dryer calling me so I better go switch another load. See ya later.

OMG, ice cream doesn't sound good right now at all. But that's only because I just gorged myself on left over junk from the weekend. Now I feel ill.

I do love the idea of an ice cream meet. I've never eaten at the Gibson Girl ice cream parlor.

I LOVE Gibson Girl...it is not a trip to the park without! And the line goes very quickly!

 NEVER??? I go EVERY trip! But I LOVE ice cream!:lovestruc

Amen sistah!

Beth don't feel bad....I've never had Gibson Girl Ice Cream either.....we go by & take nose hits, but never had stood in the loooooooooooong lines to get any........
I know.....my bad!!

I can't believe so many of you have not had Gibson Girl...we NEED an ice cream social intervention thingy!

:scared1: :faint:

Don't forget about us Oregonians! I'm up for it, or down for it, or dialed in, whatever. :hippie:

I am up for a BC/Washington/Oregon meet!

Ok, so I am just back from Reno and today is my DS's 4th Birthday! We had his pictures taken last night and he did such a good job...then we took my mom to The Keg for dinner....really expensive and sooo not worth it! Oh well. My son painted me a flower pot and picked out a plant to put in it for mothers day, it is so cute....he can't paint worth beans so it is just colors all mushed together, but he had so much fun and was so proud of it and I love it! He gave me the best hug ever when he came to pick me up at the airport too! Reno was sad...all boarded up. It was good seeing my friend, though, and I got addicted to Bejeweled Blitz.

I am with you about Club 33 and Laundry...Dh didn't do any while I was gone. How sweet. We did one load last night and tonight I get to do the rest though I think I will take ds to McD's so he can play in the play place. He loves that and it's his birthday...we aren't having the party till this weekend.

Sarah

Hi Beth! Hey, the Mandalay has a special going right now for rooms and tickets to the Lion King. I'm sure you have seen it? Something like $215.00 a night, but that includes 2 tickets to the play!! Now that is a good deal!! Or another one for $99.00 a night.

Hi Kelly! Busy, busy, busy!!

I wouldn't give it a second thought. Let them have a good ole fun day off. Of course, maybe this wasn't your plan for a fun day off?:rotfl:

Hi Sarah! My DH will do the laundry.............but you have to be careful what gets into the basket. My DD put a brand new all cotton white sweater in it, and he put it into the hottest bleachiest load possible!:sad2: I was unloading the washer this morning and found it. Uh oh.......................so it is now air drying. Hope it didn't shrink too much!

Hey, how is the makeover process going?

Heather, sorry about the hassles you are still dealing with. But I'm glad you're getting new carpet and a new dryer.

!

I LOVED that show! Remember her dancing in those pjs?

Heather - so happy about the new carpet -- it was a must!

Oh, my older kids are home from school today. They are in their rooms reading now.

Wow - you've got good control of that household!
:thumbsup2

Mel, your family trip to DL sounds terrific. Your sis needs some fun.:goodvibes
