Yay for the new bag! Hope it works for you.
About the shoes and heel pain...
My first trip to Disney I wore my crocs the entire time. When I returned home I began having a lot of pain in my heels. When I would wake up in the morning, I could barely walk. I did some research online and am pretty sure I had plantar fascitis. I went to a New Balance store and talked to one of the sales people and told her my problems. She suggested a sneaker they carried and a gel insert for extra support for my heels. It took many months, but the pain finally went away.
Are you flat footed? That's part of my problem. I still wore my cleo crocs on this trip some of the time, but I also wore my new balance sneakers on days I'd be doing a lot of walking. (On my first trip when I started having all of the pain, I was wearing my Disney crocs - can't remember the name, but the basic croc.)
