September '09 PTR ~ A trip full of WONDERful firsts! UPDATED 10/12 TR STARTED!

Hey! I just wanted to say HI and I'm subbing!

We're arriving the exact same day you are!! :yay: We're staying in AKL...a first!

Smart thinking with canceling the land part of your pkg so you can get free dining! My cousin is staying at POR for his honeymoon in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how they like it.

Your mini TR was great--looks like you had a lot of fun! I LOVE rollercoasters!

I'm excited to see the rest of your plans unfold!! :thumbsup2

Hi!

I'm so excited for our trip! That's awesome that we're arriving the same day. You'll have to say hi if you think you recognize me.

Definitely let me know how they liked POR. I've never stayed there but I did a quick tour of it the last time I was in FL and it looks beautiful.

I'm looking forward to summer but I just want it to fly by and be September already!! :)

I went on a little shopping trip last night to Old Navy and Kohl's. Found a couple of cute things. This was definitely a Disney trip inspired shopping trip. I'd rather pick up a few things here and there then do an all out spending spree before I go because I will end up getting way too much stuff!! Here's what I got:

These shorts

Both from Old Navy.

And then at Kohl's, I picked up:

432119

Also got a grey t-shirt with a drawing of Mickey mouse and the pants & shoes are florescent red & yellow. I just had to get Disney shirts! :) They were only $6 each!

Jenny: So excited you went on the ghost tour!! I want to see that creepy picture! It's great you guys had such nice weather and enjoyed yourselves. Those rides sounds like SO MUCH FUN. FIELD TRIP??! Hmm.. I'm not a huge fan of scenic routes either- I just want to get there!

Wonderful Disney shopping.. Love the Tink Tee!

Great update!

Cute stuff!! I know--I've already started doing a little Disney shopping here and there too!

Thanks! Shopping is one of the best parts leading up to the trip! ;)

The ghost tour was awesome. If you're ever up that way, I recommend it. Our guide was great. I will try to get the pictures up over the weekend, promise.

I wouldn't even call it a scenic route. It was a bunch of farm land minus the bay! :rotfl:

I had to get the Tink tee! It was too good of a deal to pass up. I realized for how many trips I've taken to Disney, I have no Disney clothing other than my Jack Sparrow shirt and flip flops!

I thought I'd post a loose itinerary I've come up with for our trip. I won't know for definite what parks we're going to hit on what days until the official hours are announced.

Sunday 9/20 - DHS - hoping to get there around 1 since we'll be leaving the hotel in GA around 9.
MK - EMH. This seems to be the day they've been having it at night.

Monday 9/21 - Epcot Day!

Tuesday 9/22 - DHS again for the morning to hit anything we've missed
And then off to MK for MNSSHP

Wednesday 9/23 - AK Day!
Since this is the night before the cruise, we'll probably relax by the pool after and then have a mini-DIS meet at Jellyroll's. It'll be an early night.

Thursday 9/24 - We board the ship! The beautiful Disney Wonder. We'll be cruising until the morning of 9/27.

Sunday 9/27 - Epcot for the F&W Fesitval!

Monday 9/28 - Orginally, this was going to be a Universal day. But honestly, I don't really feel like going there. We went there for a week last November and I want to have an all Disney trip this time. Since we've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, I really just want to hang by the pool and maybe rent a Sea Raycer. And possibly in the morning, go to Typhoon Lagoon. If Joe really wants to go to Universal, we'll do it, but as of right now :confused3

Tuesday 9/29 - MK in the morning before we head home. This is a tradition.

The MNSSHP tickets go on sale Friday so I'm planning on buying those right away. And only one more month to go until the September hours are announced! It's getting closer!!!

Hey, Jenny! Can't believe I just saw the link in your siggie for your trip report! Signing on and going to start getting caught up!!!

Yay! You found me! :) I saw your post about the Tusker House, glad to know you liked it. I picked it because Donald's my favorite and it's one of the very few places to see Daisy!!

the itinerary sounds great! I'm still deciding what park I want to do on my birhtday (mk or epcot) on the 27th so maybe we'll run into each other!

So my sister worked for Ann Taylor for a little while as a manager and I completely fell in love with their clothes. She gets an awesome discount but she's leaving their company for another so it was the last weekend I could abuse her discount. Here's the loot!

I can't tell you how much I love this dress.

This skirt but in light blue denim rather than white.

I also got a pair of distressed dark blue denim bermudas that I can't seem to find on the site.

I saved a boatload of money with my sister's discount and then also an extra 15% because my sister had me apply for the Ann Taylor credit card. I need a credit card like I need another hole in the head but the limit is low and it'll be good to have. I do love their clothes.

In other Disney news, I want to buy MNSSHP tickets but they're not online yet. What's up with that? :confused3

Awesome pre-trippie so far! I just got caught up... sounds like you are going to have an amazing trip! You and Joe are so cute and I didn't realize that he is an aspiring director... very cool! Love what you bought on your shopping trip, I am heading to the website to look at that dress for myself, it is adorable!!!

What time do you plan to make your Ohana reservation? You could always eat at Ohana (which is one of my faves, btw!) and then head out to the beach with a pineapple drink and watch the fireworks there. They can be seen really well from the beach and the music is piped in out there.

Thanks! :) Yes, Joe is big into movies. He's working hard on his latest project; it's his first feature length film!

I fell in love with that dress as soon as I saw it. Everything I picked up was so brightly colored, I love it all!

I think I'm going to make my Ohana reservation around 8-ish. That is a good idea! I have to wait until the park hours are out to know for definite when everything will be going on.

I look for every excuse that I can find to drink pineapples at Ohana! :rolleyes1 We were there last year towards the end of September and I think Wishes was at 9, of course it could be different this year.

I'm thinking it'll be around 9 or 10. How long does dinner usually take there? Maybe I should schedule it a little bit earlier to be on the safe side. And I love pineapples so I'm sure I'll love that drink :thumbsup2

I think they are called a Lapu Lapu, but I can never remember for sure. They are yummy! After the first if you want another, you can order just the drink to put in your pineapple (a little cheaper this way). It took a long time to get our table at Ohana, but once we sat down I think it only took about an hour or so to eat. They bring the food out right away.

I thought we would skip Ohana on the next trip but now that I am thinking about it we have to have a reservation here!!!

i love all those flip flops!!

I love the colors! :)

I just looked it up to see if it mentioned the Lapu Lapu; it doesn't on the menu page but I'll take your word for it. The DIS does not give it a favorable review. :scared: That won't stop me from trying it though!

Cute, Cute clothes and shoes!! I especially love the dress. I've become a dress addict! I'm hoping the weather will be super nice and I can wear dresses at Disney some nights!

I'm hoping for near 90 during the day and 70s at night. I'll take all the hot weather I can get because the last time I was down in Orlando, there was a cold front. 50 degree weather all week, 60 if I was lucky!

And I love, love, love that dress!!!! :)
