Not all guys will wear a jacket on that night, Aaron. I don't think Phillip is bringing one since we're not doing a Palo dinner. He will likely wear khakis and a polo shirt (or tropical shirt) to dinner each night. That is really up to you. You won't be out of place if you're not wearing a jacket. (One less thing to pack should you choose.)

Thanks Dodie. I wasn't too big on the jacket idea because I like to pack as light as possible. I'll be wearing button up, long sleeved dress shirts.

I'll be back later kids!!! Heading home and have some errands to run...don't go crazy posting and close this before I get back!!

I finally got an e-mail from Disney about D23.....so much for signing up to 'be one of the first to know'. Eight and a half hours later, its old news. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

But thinking it over, $75 is only $15 more than the price of a year's subscription to the new magazine, so it's not that bad of a deal.

Did yours come from disneyshopping.com like mine did? I figured the email would have come from corporate or disney parks.

New ship looks cool. :cool1:

I like it.

Tracy, can I be the last person to post to the Seventh Thread? :thumbsup2

Since thread 8 isn't out there yet (with the appropriate threatening message from AskTracy telling us to leave it alone until this one is closed), it looks like we still have a little time here.

Sit back, relax. Think about where we'll be two months from now!

Maybe I won't start part 8 before part 7 is closed down....

I just signed up for the morning Dolphin encounter. When you get back, is there time to do anything else (like go to the beach or Atlantis?)

just wonderin....

thanks Tracy!

I wouldn't take the little bit of time you will have left to go over to Atlantis.

How do you get luggage transfers - we don't have them, do we?

You must have Disney transfers for this.

1st time Disney cruiser here!

Quick question - can men/women wear jeans to dinner except on dress up night?

Absolutely!!

The other nights are "cruise casual" which doesn't include jeans. Of course you can wear what you want, they won't kick you out. However, since you asked they don't consider jeans cruise casual.

This is not correct.

I believe that the first two times we cruised the information used to actually say something like "no jeans please," but now this is what the website says:

On 4-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

Dress code is a hot topic on the cruise boards here. You'll actually see people dressed in lots of ways, but "most" adults will likely not be wearing jeans in the dining rooms. You'll see some, but not most. Most men tend to wear khakis and most ladies wear crop pants, skirts, dresses, or slacks to dinner.

Dressing up on dress up night is not required. On the 4 night sailing it is call dress up night, not formal night.

I was thinking the same thing, but I was just gonna go with it.....confession time....spill!

I can't find my original post right now. It was a rendering of the new Disney ships that I saw posted on cruise critic. It differs a lot from the original renderings and the ones posted on the DCL forum. Looks very different than the current ships. Don't know how true any of this info is but here is the link. The interesting stuff is a little ways down page 1.

I think I have a pretty good idea what I'm wearing each night. I didn't know about the dress up night recommendation of a jacket. I may have to change that around.

My DH will not be wearing a jacket. He doesn't owe one. I don't really get the jacket thing. I don't find someone wearing a jacket to be more dressed up than someone wearing a shirt and tie. :confused3

I need to stop with the multi quotes. It's hurting my post count.:rotfl:

Me too.

It's interesting because Palo's dress code now says dress shirt and does not mention a jacket. It seemed to me like Palo's dress code is now less strick than semi-formal night.

Those of you who go to the Atlantis, if you see my Mom there, shoo her back to the Wonder before we leave port. Last thing I want to do is pay for another airline ticket. Or explain to my Sisiter why I left Mom in the Bahamas. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Will DO!:thumbsup2

On the cruise boards they are saying they released the new names. Dream and Fantasy.

This is just my opinion but I think it would be a mistake for Disney to name one of the new ships Dream. The new Carnival Dream will be sailing out of Port Canaveral. Having 2 ships named Dream at the same port could be confusing.

:scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

Oh My Stars!!! What would we do? Where would we talk? Who would we talk to?

I was thinking the same thing. Remember how freaked out everyone got when the one thread was not a sticky but wasn't closed.:scared1:

I know that my DH will not be wearing one either.
Nice shirt and slacks no tie or jacket.
