Are there any vegetarian options at the PM? We'll be there in April with my MIL who is nearly veg (meaning she only eats chicken occasionally).
This is what the bottom of the menu states...

Buzz,
Glad you had such a great time, as usual!! Can you tell me how well the refrigerator in your room worked? Only because when we went last yr. we had a problem with the refrigerator not keeping our stuff cold enough.
Thanks!!
Very well! I had to turn it down to 4 because the food was almost freezing. At 6, it is extremely cold.

I do have one question you stated that in addition to the desk chair that there are a couple of ottomans... are there any pics of these? We are planning having breakfast in our room several days & was curious about where we were going to eat now that they took the table & chairs out of the new rooms.

Here is a picture of the desk.

can you use the quick service dining plan for everything at the pepper market??? good job BUZZ

We had the quick service dining and had no problem getting what we wanted there. My husband had the steak one night and liked it very much.

Buzz, Welcome back and thanks for taking the time to post live while you were on vacation. Now we have your post trip reporting to look forward to.

I noticed that you checked in at around the same time we will be checking in ( 5:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.) and am curious if you mentioned on your room request that you would be checking in later in the day ?

Also, do you know how good the room service pizza is ? We are thinking about ordering it for the kids.

Thanks.
I did not mention my time of arrival, just my requests.

The pizza in the PM and Rix is good, not great, but good. If it is the same as those I would say yes. I've never personally ordered anything from room service. Well once, I got my DD the cookies and milk but its hard to screw that up.

WDW pizza is not anything like I'm used to getting in CT so that's why I say its just good.

Siestas has the best prices and the food is good too! The nacho platter is big, meaty and cheesy!

Ok first thanks for the great photo's and info Buzz and everyone, it really makes me excited to be staying here for the first time. My eldest DD can't wait for the pool and slide!

Now my Q's

1) please remind me...are most of the rooms all redone w/ the new stuff or only certian areas? I requested a room near El Centro so thinking maybe the Cabanas

2) the bathroom-sink area whether in a newly done room or not. How is the storage for your tolietries and stuff? would it be wise for me to do one of those plastic shoe organzier things or are there little shleves can't tell from the picture?

3) the pool does it have a zero depth area? one of my DD's is worried it will be too deep for her.

Thanks for the help!

1. all the cabana rooms are done. They just started with the first rancho building...6a. Only the 4th floors in casita 1, 2, and 3 are done. The whole resort is not scheduled to be complete until 10/2009.

2. The bathroom has plenty of counter space and a shelf underneath the sink now too (in the redone rooms). We always use the shoe organizer trick too.

3. It is not a zero entry pool but there are stairs on both sides of the slide and by the tiki that go the whole length (see pic below). It makes it easy for little ones to play and hang out there. The whole side in front of the pyramid is stairs.

My only request was for a refurbished room, ground floor. should I have been more specific?

I know this is only a request, but I hope the pixie dust is with me & we get a new room. I really want dh to be wowed!(he is not a Disney fan like myself :confused3 )

We were there for my son's 13th birthday last yr. Bring him up to the front desk with you when you check in to get a Birthday button for him. When I did this last yr., the CM asked my son who his favorite character was & what day his b-day was. On the day of my son's b-day a CM came to our door with three balloons & a birhtday card with a photo of Stitch in it since that was my son's favorite character that he told the CM at check-in. It was a nice surprise!

Buzz,

Thanks for all the great info on CSR! Since we booked our trip, we have been reading all of your posts.

My question is... is the ice plentiful in the ice machines? We plan on filling our small "lunch" type cooler every morning when we head out. I guess I am assuming it is free, but I guess I should ask that as well!

TIA

We got back Wednesday - I'm glad I got to pre-thaw for the snow!

As I said - we got an un-renovated room in Casitas 4 - overlooking the quiet pool. Close to the elevator and Bus Stop 2. A short stroll to El Centro.

I agree, the PM is spendy, but on the DDP it's just fine.

While we had some major crud happen, we had a great vacation. The service at CSR was wonderful, and better than I have received at 4 star hotels in many other places. My husband lost his Driver's License. The IKON folks that are not WDW CM's that run the business center went above and beyond to help us. Allowed us free computer use and printing to get documents in order. (I tried to pay and they wouldn't let us!) And just had wonderful advice all around, even as we over ran their peaceful office with two kids and our barge of a stroller.

In the Dig Site saturday I picked up DD5 in the pool, my necklace got caught, the prong pulled and the amethyst fell out. While this was a large and valuable stone, it's that it was my deceased mother's that really upset me. On Valentine's Day. I talked to Kelvin, the head lifeguard - he offered to sweep the pool himself as he was off shift. I declined, because my husband and I had already done that, and my hope was that it would show up in the filter...sadly it didn't. That said - the attitude of everyone we encountered from the resport to the parks was great and what I think made what could have been a crappy vacation really amazing.

We did all come down with the norovirus when we got home. We were beyond careful - using sanitizers, etc - which I never do at home. Based on how it's progressed (my grandparents caught it from the kids. DD got sick in the baggage claim at ORD.) - I think DS picked it up either at DHS or AK. Then he passed it on to us. (I don't blaim Disney for this - my co -worker had the same thing last week - he got it in Wisconsin Dells at one of the water parks)

We also didn't get expanded toiletires, but I did talk wit our housekeeper one day - she was just starting when I brought DS back to the room - she said if we wanted Gel, etc, just call and they'd put it on the order for tomorrow.

I do wish there were more hammocks around the lake. Every time DH went out - someone else was on siesta.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

I bought a shoe organizer thing from Walmart and it had 2 hanger heads attached so yes you could hang it on the curtain rod .. which I believe (correct me if I am wrong) is right in the bathroom.

Hi All. Great thread. I just booked CSR for early August. We have always wanted to stay here and are excited. Can anyone tell me what the parking situation is like? It's hard to tell from the map. Can you park near your building? Thanks.

Yes, the parking goes all the way around the resort behind every section. Buzz has a picture somewhere...I'll see if I can find it (if not, I'm sure he'll repost it).

Hey Buzz - I remember reading your reviews on CSR back in 02 but then the boards changed and I lost my old username. Oh well I'm back and I do have a question for you since we are coming back to CSR in June for my dd's sweet 16 :woohoo: I have requested the Cabanas 8b or 8a but would 9b where you stayed be a better location? We like to be close to the Dig Site and I think we stayed very close to bus stop # 4 last time? What are your thoughts on what to request? I realize it's no guarantee but it helps to request. Thanks and the pics are gorgeous. We love the look of the new rooms!!

8a is steps away from the main pool and bus stop #4 but you can't go wrong with any of the cabana buildings.

I'm CtPhinFan! I love the Dolphins!!

The parking lot goes all the way around the resort so you can always get a spot close to your room. cabana 9b is one building you can't park close too.
