The Details
May 5th 2009 - 8 Days at the POFQ!

Who's Going?? Let me first explain...While watching Winnie the Pooh the other night my DS turns to me and said "I am Tigger and you must be Rabbit because you get mad like Rabbit does". (which also cracks DH up) This then prompted the conversation of who DH was (Owl) and my other DS (Piglet). DS (Tigger) is 4 and has a hard time listening and I guess I get mad a lot because of this! So that is how I came to our cast list.

The Cast:

Rabbit (Me) Did you know that Rabbit - besides being known for being pushy and decisive is also known for being organized and taking charge of group events! - My DS was right... this is me (but I am a girl) I am 34 years young.. a wife to my very best friend in the world, and a mother of two beautiful and loving boys!! I work part time in Boston and spend all my free time with my family and planning for our Disney trip!!!!

Owl (DH) Known for speaking eloquently and everyone thinks he's the wisest. Well my DH is a writer and he is also that person who knows everything about nothing! He is definitely Owl!

Tigger (DS) is 4 years old. He is bouncy, very active and fun loving! He is Tigger:-) This will be his 3rd time going to Disney.

Piglet (DS) is 18 months old. My baby! I don't know if he will like being "Piglet" when he is older, but for now he is my baby and he is our Piglet! This will be his 2nd time going to Disney.

I just had to share...My DH is working late tonight and when I got home, on my pillow he left for me a CD he had made. He even made a CD cover - the front is Minnie giving Mickey a big kiss and on the back it says "A Disney Valentine - Wishes do come true." How sweet is that?!

Great start! We went in May last year and it was such a great time to go. Nice weather and the crowds weren't too bad.

Your kids are adorable!

I'm in!!

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are two of my favs; we didn't get to do them last time, so they're top of my list now! DH has never done either, so I'm excited to get him in to more character meals!

We really want to try T-Rex, but I don't think it's going to fit our schedule. We'll probably just walk around the store part and see what it's like. You'll have to let me know if the food is too good to pass up, though!

We're doing O'Hana for breakfast for the first time. I'm so excited as I absolutely adore Stitch. I keep teasing DH that I may make a shirt asking Stitch to marry me. :lovestruc

POFQ is one of my fav resorts (out of any level.) We stayed here for our honeymoon; it's so pretty and relaxing! GREAT choice!

Your family is adorable, by the way!

Thank you! We only have gone in December and in September- free dining! I am so looking forward to the weather in May.

Thank you!! We havent done them either. Last year we did Hollywood and Vine (which was really good!) and Garden Grill (so-so). We will be at Crystal palace for DH birthday and our neighbors are going to Disney at the same time (not planned) and they will be joining us. I am very excited to get the 8:05 AM at Crystal Palace with 8 people!!

I will let you know about T Rex- the pictures look great- and I read today that they have a "build a dino" from Build a Bear Workshops- my DS will LOVE this!!

Stich is one of our favorites too-we always race in the morning to be first to get his wake up call.

I am so glad you liked POFQ- we have only stayed at POR and POP and I was worried because there were no rooms at POR for us so we decided to try POFQ out.

I am not afraid to admit that I love Build-A-Bear, and am planning on checking out the Build-A-Dino shop. :rotfl:

You're going to LOVE POFQ!! Don't worry, at all. Make sure you go to the food court and get some beignets (when you're facing the food court, they're sold at the stand furthest to the left) and milk for breakfast. They are fried (not greasy, though) and powded sugar goodness. We had an order of these almost every day on our honeymoon, and I crave them now!

We're staying at POP, and we've never stayed there! I think we've switched our normal habits!

If we didnt have the kids we would probably be back at POP but we spend so much time at the hotel and we love going to DTD so it's easier. Thanks for the tip on the beignets.. that sounds like a yummy breakfast:-) I am going to post some pictures of our first family trip when we stayed at POP. Be on the look-out:-):goodvibes

Ok, so I wanted to share with you all my very favorite photo from our first family trip. (I tried to find some from our hotel...but I guess we spent very little time there, because I have none)

Can you imagine I let my 9 month old crawl on Main St!? (All for a good photo)

A Rumblee in my Tumblee Part 3: Disney Nights

We started planning for this trip when we got home from our September 2007 trip. Our plan is to go back every two years, but if we get a bounceback.... maybe we will have to come back EACH year! We had such an amazing trip that we were all crying at the end of it and really didnt want to leave. People talk about feeling the "Magic" of Disney and we really did!! It has stayed with us and one thing we have done to keep this "Magic" alive is "DISNEY NIGHTS". Hope you enjoy our nights, maybe you can use some of these ideas in your home and have a Disney night of your own and keep your "Magic" alive!!!:lovestruc Each night we try to incorporate food from the movie, watch the movie all together and do a craft/activity.

TOY STORY NIGHT: (This was our first night and wasnt really planned)
Ordered Pizza From "Pizza Planet"
Watched the Movie and played with the Toy Story action Figures
We also played Tic-Tac-Toe with Army guys

LADY AND THE TRAMP NIGHT:
DS and I picked flowers from our garden and set the table fancy- wine glasses and candles. We put nice music on during dinner too.
We had Spaghetti and Meatballs and Garlic Bread- Red Wine and (Welch's Grape Juice for the little ones)
We watched the movie and then played Dog Trivia after.

LILO AND STITCH NIGHT:
For this night we really got into the decorations and created a luau in our kitchen. We had Chicken Skewers with Pineapples and Cherries and Mango Chutney. It was yummy. My DS and I made our first ever Pineapple upside down cake and it was delish!

BUGS LIFE NIGHT:
I made a meatloaf with "ant holes" and gummy worms on it. We had Pudding pie with crushed Oreo (Dirt) and Gummy Worms.
DH took DS out for "Bug Collecting" - they caught a little beetle. We named him Ringo and let him free the next day.

SLEEPING BEAUTY NIGHT:
We got into our PJ's and put a blanket down on the floor and had "Brinner"
Pancakes, Sausages, Eggs, Coffee (Hot Chocolate for DS) This was lots of fun!

NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS NIGHT:
We did this around Halloween. We made Boogers on a stick (Pretzles in some green cheese dip) and we made Octopus dogs (hot dogs with slits and when boiled they look like an octopus) We toasted pumpkin seeds and we carved our pumpkins!

Ok that is all for now. I have to put the kids to bed. I have lots more Disney Nights to share. I hope you enjoy these!!

Coming up: Disney Nights Continued....

Hi! :wave2: Just poppin in here from DisneyTiger's TR!

I have to second the recommendation of the beignets. They are good stuff. Not QUITE as good as the ones you'll get in New Orleans, but close enough. Just don't inhale while eating them! :rotfl:

I just stayed at POFQ in December. I really liked it. There were these two guys that were at the front door. If they are there, talk with them for a bit. They are nice and all dressed up for Mardi Gras. :rotfl:

I like your PTR...sounds like it's going to be a great trip! And you are quite brave for taking two little ones!

Thanks for stopping in and reading my report:-)
and thanks for the picture. The beignets look delish and I will be having some of those soon enough... its really all about the food:-) The trip is just based around what/where we are eating ha-ha!!

I followed where's piglet here from disney tigers trip report. I also loooooove the picture of your ds crawling on main street. We are going to Disney World one week from Friday. Our baby is going to turn 20 months old on our trip. I will let you know how she liked t-rex to give you a heads up on how the restaurant was since you will be taking a baby her age there too. Try the beignets. I know how to make them just like the french quarter. I bought the box mix they use in New Orleans. Where's Piglet is right don't inhale when taking a bite. We were eating them in New Orleans one day and the wind blew really strong just as my aunt had one up to her mouth and she got a face full of powdered sugar. It was pretty funny.

I cant wait to hear about your trip when you get back! Thanks so much for letting me know about T Rex and any other tips you may have about going to Disney with a 20 month old- are much appreciated!!! Have a WONDERFUL trip:-)

 I am so confused... I have a rental reserved for around 200 for the week. (which is pretty cheap) OR I could use Magical Express. (Which I have been wanting to try) I just keep imagining my 18 month old screaming and tired at the end of the day screaming on the bus or waiting in line for the bus... Anyone out there who have gone with little ones who can give me your opinion?!
