I thought the rule was the ADDRESS attached to the pin not the name....

I called and she told me had to be the name.

I got card for Sis in Law [my maiden last name] to my house address and was thinking of using it for camping....$500 gift card + camping [can't camp with 4/3 deal...]

just trying hard to get numbers where I want them...

search isn't working for me...I know i've read it a bunch...

Thanks...

If it comes to your address but not your name you can not use it.I had gotten a 40% off to my address( mind you we built our home so no one else has ever lived here) , and it was in the name of an old friend who was once a guest on my disney reservation. She is also now deceased. They will not allow me to use it.

I have used these codes previously with the name being incorrect but the address is mine. I am not quite sure if they have become more strict on this. I think it is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous to do that. I mean this is basically a glitch in their system that they have the wrong name. I also say, if you get a no, keep trying because often it comes down to the right CM. Also, be sure to ask if you have a PIN code next to your name in the system. I would definitely try, in fact I just got one today for my Mother In Law. That is who I used the last time and got 40% off at the GF!! The CM I got said, no problem. This time however, my MIL wants to go so I guess we will have to bring her!! Good Luck!

This happened to me too. Last year the mailer had my friend's name, who went with me to WDW the year before, but my address. I was able to use the code. I was told they go by the address.
Just today I got another mailer with a stranger's name but our address. It is the $500 gift card one. I am calling tomorrow to see if I can use it.
Maybe if you get a different CM, she will let you use it. Good luck, Pam

Well all I know is I pretty much called every day for 2 weeks straight about using the code, and was told NO.I even told the one Cm I was going to book a trip right then and there, and they still said NO.I said "So with this economy you would rather lose my money"? I can't go against policy was the response.I think it is total BS, and I got tired of being made to feel criminal because of it.So I just stopped calling, maybe something better will come my way

Sorry you are having so much trouble. I have to say that I got a PIN with my ex husband's name and my address (he has never lived in the house at this address) the CM thought it was pretty funny and she did give me the 40% off discount. She switched the number code into a letter code. In fact we are using it 2x once in March and again in August. So I guess the CM does make a difference.

What i find interesting is that we have been traveling to Disney ,more or less once a year-never a code. This past summer my DD 13 took a friend and lo and behold, a pin comes to our house in her (13 year old)friend's name! They must send pins to attract people back and figure those who come every year are going to come anyways. :confused3
I'm going to call today to try to use it. We'll see what happens

My theory is that the person on the pin is determined alphabetically when they use lists from past visits. I always make the plans for my family, when it was just the 4 of us they used my DH's name for pins, when my Ddad came they started sending them with his name. My Dh's first name starts with Da mine starts with Do, same last name, with dad our last name starts with an M his with a C. Just a theory, and only would be for lists that are based on past stays. Can't wait to see what happens when we bring my DD's friends for her 16th birthday trip.

I'm just :badpc:

First I found out about the Military discount...my dad is retired Navy...they won't go for it!!! They're meeting us in anna maria. I think they don't want to choose between giving us the companion and my sis in law and niece. Never mind the fact that they went with us both other times, the last one using MY pin code. UGH.

Then I got the kids 3-9 dine deal....well 1 kid is 10 and so that stinks....

Then I get this $500 pin code...it really only works out well if we stay less nights or better if we could camp... just thought maybe....

So now I'm back to punching numbers on the 4/3 deal if I get a 10 day non expire, etc. vs. staying offsite at windsor hills.

really going crazy. :rotfl: but i'd rather be crunching numbers for a vacation than something else.

That really stinks! Did you ask to speak to member services. I would have. They seem to be able to do magic. I guess I have been lucky with great CM's. I would have given up too.

I have recently used a 40% pin code that is my address but my MIL's name. She does live with us, but the CM never even asked.

Good luck, keep calling!

Another no here. The pin came to my address but it was addressed to my friend that I went on a girl's trip to Disney with. I was told we could not use the pin. She's been to Disney once, I've been ten or so times - go figure.

Yep.Guest services told me the old " I am sorry we can't allow it" I said the person whose name it is in is "deceased and died in 2002-2003".Was still told No.I wrote numerous emails and letters of complaint.Haven't heard anything back yet. They won't do anything about though because I still end up going.

I got a 40% off pin recently to my married name. I stopped using that name 8 years ago but I still live at the same address. I was able to book using it with my current name without a problem. I figured I would find some old ID if I had to so I could prove I was the same person but it wasn't necessary.

I just got the $500 g/c to my house with my mother's name on it (we have different last names). Our trip isn't until May though so I'm not even bothering to try on that one. Now if I could just get something good for September!

It said in small print that you could book until June 14th I think. I would double check if you already have a trip and the $500 is good for you.

I was told no too. This is very frustrating. I took my Mom last year and twice a pin has come to my home with her name. The CM insisted I couldn't use it, and could not give me a telephone number for marketing to correct the information. It is infuriating!

First of all dont blame the CM. That is disneys policy and they will get in trouble for booking it. Secondly, a lot of the reason this happens is when people book trips with their friends or family members and the CM says they need the other persons address and phone number, the answer will be "oh just put them under my address" or "oh they live with me *lie*"

I agree that it is not the CM's fault at all. What's frustrating is that I can't call marketing to get the information corrected.

I did travel with my Mother and did not lie about where she lived. When I called the CM said she was listed as the "lead" person from the ressie even though I had planned and paid for the entire trip. The only thing that I can see is that alphabetically her last name comes before mine...did anyone else getting an incorrect pin notice that same thing?

Question for those being denied - are you voluntarily telling the CM that there is a different name on the postcard/e-mail or is the CM asking you about the name?

Your dad won't go for it or Disney won't go for it??? I'm a little confused. Sorry. I don't know if multiple rooms can be booked with the Military code or not. I'm married to the military via my husband who is active duty and we are taking my parents with us and we got the DDP too. I know you couldn't use the discount without your dad physically staying in the room because upon check in he would have to show his retiree ID.

If he doesn't want to go because he doesn't want to pick and choose between his kids, I'm sorry but I think he's being fair and balanced even though he went with you before using your pin code. I know it upsets you but he's trying to keep even keel between his kids. But if he could book multiple rooms in his name with the code and he's just choosing not to - that kind of stinks.
