Work related. It's so dumb, the VP makes us do them every year but no one every checks to see if we've accomplished them or not. I don't see the point.

Goals for Year:

1. Convince VP to quit making us prepare these lists.

2. Find better ways to spend my time, that don't involve making lists.

3. Spend the next hour doing something productive for company instead of setting goals.:thumbsup2

Well to answer Bernice's question...I haven't been posting a lot lately because I'M TIRED OF TALKING TO MYSELF!:lmao:

Oh that and I am trying to lose weight, so M, W & F I spend 40 minutes on the Wii Fit and another 20 on Wii Sports to get my hour of exercise in for the day. DS has basketball practice on T & Th evenings, so when DH works evenings I have to take him. But now I've discovered if it's not raining, I can leave him in the gym with his team to practice and DD, another mom and I can walk around the track and get exercise. They leave the lights on at the high school football field/track in the winter so people can exercise and walk. So yes, I am ok...just trying to lose a little fat and gain some weight.:thumbsup2

Thats EASY!!!!

1. get promoted several times for the work of others.

2. claim credit for all work successes

3. take over the VP position, and fire all who oppose me.

hehehehehe

All right. Im here! I keep getting these gnarly dizzy spells... I almost ate tile at the grocery store this morning. AND I had to sit down while I was making dinner. Hence the sandwiches. :sad2:

My Grandma called this evening... The stuff my aunt ordered for me got delivered today.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: I am WAY excited to pick it up!! Hopefully by Friday I will have my crib and mattress...

im filling out the scholastic book order form. forms, actually, there are 3, and we want stuff out of each one.

i just ordered stuff for ds8 from his school, and these are from ds4's preschool... but ds8 managed to find something he wanted there as well. ;)

did you ever read harold and the purple crayon? i remember loving that when i was in kindergarten, so i'm getting that one. ds4 asked for a book on the penguin's skating party, and there's a hopefully cute book based on the louis armstrong song, what a wonderful world. :goodvibes

Alex gets those.. I love the prices, but I havent found much for him.

I have never heard of it. I can remember the Berenstein Bears... and then it seemed like I went straight to the Babysitters Club. Im sure I didnt, but I dont have the memory of what was in between those. :lmao: Oddly.. I can remember picking out my first Babysitters Club book.. I was in the first grade. I cant remember what we had for dinner last night, but I remember picking out a book in the first grade. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

i know, isn't it funny? we remember things that were significant to us at the time, and some of the 'significant' things are kinda funny today, huh? :rotfl:

OH HEY. is he reading magic treehouse books? they have dragon of the red dawn for only $2, less than half price!

He is reading them, and I am almost 100% sure that is one of the books he bought with his Christmas money. Figures.. doesnt it?

i know. i'm not sure if ds8 has it or not, but i figure i'll get it anyway for $2. if we already have it, we can give it to someone as part of a birthday gift. :confused3

Im getting irritated.. more with myself then with her... that I cant get Mikalah to learn the alphabet. She just doesnt get it.. Frelan thinks that I should wait until Im more patient. ie... NOT pregnant. :lmao: Valid point. She also doesnt get her colors. Seriously. Almost 4.. She can count to 20, you would think she could tell the difference between yellow and black.

ds8 went to kindergarten not knowing the names of all the letters, he was taught the sound that each makes in the montessori school and hadn't yet learned the names for them all yet. and of course he was terrible at learning his colors, and i later realized that was because he was colorblind, poor kid. :lmao:

don't worry about it at all, really. ds8 is highly intelligent, does very well in math and reading.

ds4 still doesn't know his colors very well ... again, we strongly suspect it's due to colorblindess since his wrong guesses follow the same pattern as ds8's, confusing green and brown, confusing pink, blue and purple all as blue.

he can count well to 40, i think, but misses a number or two, i think 14 is one for some reason. :confused3 :rotfl:

but he doesn't map the number in his head well with the written number yet.

the preschool teacher explained it to me that a lot of stuff is developmental, and trying to teach a child something they just aren't developmentally ready for yet is an exercise in frustration for YOU. all of a sudden when they are developmentally able, it will just click for them and they'll learn it quickly. so don't stress out about it. she's a bright girl, she'll get it.

I should lighten up about it.. I KNOW she isnt her brother, and just doesnt get things as quickly as he did. I worry that she might have inherited some of Dh's learning disabilities. He worries more about that then i do. He doesnt want her to be stupid like he is. His words, not mine! I think she is a little genius.. A real sassy one. :lmao: She just doesnt pay attention! Just like her dad...:rolleyes1

hey, that girl is sharp, trust me! she's gonna be just fiiiiiine. :lmao:

in many ways she's ahead of ds4, who is... what a year or year and a half older/ dang it, that's a question mark... anyway, i stressed a lot before ds8 went to kindergarten, because he didn't know all his letters, but the k teachers said lots of kids don't, kids come in at so many different stages. some come in nearly reading! :scared1:

and others don't know their numbers or letters at all, but learn them quickly because by then they're developmentally ready for it. so i don't even go over that stuff with ds4 unless he wants to; he gets enough of that at school, i figure.

my neighbor friend told me she thinks the kindergarten registration is in early feb. this year. whoa! already!!! :scared1:

hey, at least she's potty trained, right/ :rotfl2:

i now take every opportunity to point out the importance of using the potty.

ds4 pooped his pull-up.
me; wow, that's really disgusting. when are you going to use the potty like a big boy/ you are a big boy and every other child your age uses the potty all the time/ you really need to start doing that, this is sooo yucky.

ds4; mama, i want to go to disneyland!
me; really/ ME, TOO! i'll take you when you're using the potty all the time, ok/

ds4; mama, i liked playing with A... a friend's 3yo dd.
me; oh, really, sweetheart? she's a sweetie, isn't she. did you know she uses the potty all the time?

hey, i know it's annoying, but i'm desperate here!

His birthday is in April, right? So is Mikalah's.. So right at a year. It just gets to me sometimes.. I worked with Alex a lot when he was little.. Taught him everything he knows..;) :rolleyes1 :lmao: But totally different kids. He was reading those Jack and Jill books when he went into kindergarten... and just gets everything really quick.

I dont even want to think about Mikalah going to Kindergarten.. and we have two more years!! I still debating preschool with her. I know she would love it, and honestly, right now.. the only thing holding me back is the cost. I dont know if we will be able to afford it.
