If I only could have one, it would be VWL. I've loved WL since it's been built. This past September we were lucky enough to visit Yellowstone and see the Old Faithful Inn and fell in love there, too
I love the rustic look and especially at WL, how it's not just the building, it's the grounds, pool, the little brook by the bar, the geyser, it's a complete package. I'm on vacation in a very beautiful place when I'm at the WL/VWL. My favorite place to visit before WL was built was FW, not that we camped, but I like the outdoors and the nightly campfire with Chip and Dale was something we always brought our DSs too, no matter where we stayed.
We heard about DVC in '96, but didn't buy. We visited WDW around '98 - '00 stayed at WL, and saw the building that would become VWL, but we never looked into buying. I assumed that it would be too expensive, and just felt envious. That was probably the dumbest I ever was about anything, (well, maybe, I'm sure there are others in my family who would disagree, they still tease me about at trip to Sponge-a-rama, a side trip of about 2 hours drive for a 5 minute exhibit!). Anyway, once we decided to buy DVC in '03...my DM was turning 85, wanted a WDW birthday, the only way we could do that was to buy into DVC to get the rooms required for the party. DM loved BW...they were selling that resort with an incentive that was great so we bought and 2 days later bought an add on at VWL. VWL was where we stayed first, it's our true home resort. However, there's a song that goes "If you can't be with the one you love, you love the one you're with." Well, we have 5 home DVC's and we'll be happy at any of them, we are happy when we've stayed a few times at resorts we don't own at. We are not hard to please, but if there could only be one choice, it would HAVE to be VWL!
