Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

Great pictures!! Oh no, I hope things get better for you, but your trip note notation scares me!!

Hi, GREAT trip report!! Cannot wait to read more!! Also Congrats on the new baby princess!! Joan

Love your trip report! Congrats on the baby girl... we just had ours in November. We've been hoping to take her next year and I am learning so much from on travelling with a toddler

Oh no...poor Liam and you and DH. Not fun w/ a sad little guy in tow:sad1: . I hope something makes him and You smile soon! :)

Hey Heidi! :goodvibes I took a fairly long break from the Dis, but am back and I'm trying to get caught up on all of my old PTRs and TRs. I see your PTR has turned into a TR! I can't wait to read all about your trip. :thumbsup2

Liam is getting so big! And I was so excited to read your news! Congrats on the new baby! :yay:

I'll be back to post more as I get a chance to read through.

I didn't realize I hadn't responded to any our your posts......

Oh, Heidi, I hope it wasn't a left tunnel curse!!! :(

On the bright side, the photos of your walk to the monorail were really pretty.

I'm a creature of habit.....I always park in the stay section at the grocery store, wal-mart and the mall AND I always go thru the right tunnel at MK.

I was surprised that the walk from the parking lot to the TTC was dressed up...too much the tunnel you have to go thru to get there looks like a nasty subway.

Oh no... I'm sorry to hear Liam's day wasn't starting out well. :headache: I'm worried for the rest of your week. :scared:

Note to self: take the right tunnel. ;)

Take the RIGHT tunnel....

So sorry Liam's morning wasn't going better! Hope it wasn't too much of an omen going to the left.

Poor kid needed a nap! And I needed a drink.....

Oh no! I hope things get better for Lliam.......and YOU!

Let's just say that we had highs and lows....

I hope things get better for you and the left tunnel is not cursed!

Take the RIGHT Tunnel!!!

Thinking back, a cursed left tunnel would explain a lot of what happened on my last trip to the Magic Kingdom, too!

Hope your day gets better!

My point exactly!

Wow, that is so funny. I mean, it's not funny ha ha. It's funny weird, because typically, I go to the left, and have a fantastic time. :lmao: I must be the one weirdo.

I'm a little worried about how your trip is shaping up. I'm just hoping there's a good moment for you in here somewhere. I really, really feel your pain on dealing with a cranky out of sorts child having done it twice this past year, and just because you're in Disney doesn't make it better. As a matter of fact, sometimes, it's so much worse.

Hoping things look brighter!

OK...Take the Right tunnel unless you are a pirate.....because you would probably have some sort of special coin to ward off the curse.

Believe me...I was worried too at this point. And you're right it is worse at Disney...didn't help that this was Liam's first public meltdown.

Great pictures!! Oh no, I hope things get better for you, but your trip note notation scares me!!

Thanks, I took tons of pictures this trip on most days....I knew my trip notes were going to get weaker and weaker as the days went by.

I hope it gets manageable....
We learned how to manage a few things over the course of the vacation.

Hi, GREAT trip report!! Cannot wait to read more!! Also Congrats on the new baby princess!! Joan
Thank you....I hope to have another update up soon-ish.

Thank you and congrats to you as well. I think the biggest thing with going with a little one is you never know what you're going to get with them so be prepared and flexible.

Great updates! I hope Liam settled down for you! Poor little guy!

Maybe he just wanted to go to the resort pool again :lmao:

Oh no...poor Liam and you and DH. Not fun w/ a sad little guy in tow:sad1: . I hope something makes him and You smile soon! :)

We did find something that made him smile.....but how long did it take to find that is the question......

Hello Stranger....welcome back! Links are in post #2

I'm all caught up! That didn't take too long. :goodvibes

Great pictures of the resort. Great pictures period! The ones in the last installment at MK are gorgeous. The colors really pop.

Too bad about Chef Mickey's. We really didn't enjoy our meal there too much. It wasn't bad - just not great and very expensive.

Left tunnel curse - uh oh!

Can't wait to see if Liam gets his first hair cut. He is sooooooo cute! :goodvibes

Well, that must have been it. :lmao:

I can imagine how frustrating that was for you guys. The poor kiddo, and poor mom and dad!

Thanks! I love digital cameras because I'll take 10 just to get one great photo.

I don't feel any need to try it again for a very long time.....

Thanks! At this point in the day I didn't know if we dared going to the Barber shop with him!

We go thru the cursed left-side tunnel into the Magic Kingdom. It’s 9am and we decided to take our time getting to Fantasyland so Liam has some time to settle down.

1028020.jpg

Has anyone actually ridden any of the Main Street vehicles? We never have.
1028021.jpg

1028022.jpg

This is why we do rope drop mornings…..Fantasyland to yourself!
1028023.jpg

Everyone that was in Fantasyland at that point was in line for Dumbo. I had really wanted to ride Dumbo as Liam’s first ever Disney ride but I knew he wasn’t going to be able to handle that line…it was probably only 15-20 minutes but I was trying to avoid this face again…..

1028013.jpg

We went to get FastPasses for Mickey’s Philharmagic for later in the morning but the FP machines were closed….guess we wouldn’t need them.

Now here’s where I made a rookie mistake. I’m by no means a Disney rookie, but I certainly was a Mommy at Disney rookie. I decided that our first ride should be Peter Pan, it was a walk-on and I know how long that line gets later in the day…..You’re probably all thinking “what’s wrong with Peter Pan?” It’s gentle, slow and nothing scary. Well first off its pitch black in there. I never really realize how dark some of these “dark rides” are. And then you have to look down to see what’s being shown….Liam didn’t know to look down. He was scared. He didn’t have a meltdown but he was crying because he was scared. Nice going Mom!

I was a little smarter with the next choice in rides….Cinderella’s Carousel.

1028025.jpg

There was hardly anyone in line for it. I searched and searched for Cinderella’s golden horse when we got on but I couldn’t find it. I was so bummed! Liam has gone on carousels before and done well with them so I was surprised when he didn’t want to sit on a horse. Lucky for us we were able to sit in the sleigh.

1028024.jpg

In my park bag I always carried a few of the Dollar store toys that I had picked up at home before the trip. These were new toys to Liam and ones that I didn’t care if he lost.

I guess Liam was still feeling a little nervous from his Peter Pan experience so we gave him a slinky to play with.
“A slinky, a slinky, what a wonderful toy. A slinky, a slinky, fun for a boy or a girl.”

1028026.jpg

1028027.jpg

We (really I) was still trying to follow our touring plan so next up was the Winnie the Pooh ride. I think I was in denial at this point as to what was really happening on our Disney vacation.

1028028.jpg

He did better on this ride then the other two but he still wasn’t enjoying them. And I certainly wasn’t enjoying the rides because I was worried about Liam. Magically this was NOT.

Side Note: The carousel should have been our first ride. It’s outside, he could watch it from the line and he’s familiar with merry-go rounds. Then maybe Dumbo because it too is outside….and quick. Then we could have tried Winnie the Pooh which is a lot brighter inside then Peter Pan and he knows the characters in the 100 acre woods. Live and learn.

But all was not lost my friends, because there was a spot that I had never spent any time in but knew my little boy would love.

Pooh’s Playful Spot

1028030.jpg

And play he did! He had the whole area to himself for most of the 15-20 minutes we were there. He walked, he ran, and he crawled all over that place.

1028036.jpg

1028033.jpg

And I took hidden Mickey and hidden Submarine pictures for you!
These are inside Pooh’s house.

1028035.jpg

Guess who didn’t want to leave Pooh’s Playful Spot? Yup you guess it….this little boy:
1028013.jpg

He wasn’t happy. By this point it was about 10 am and he had been up since 4:30am….we all needed a nap, and Liam needed one most of all. We decided to walk around until he fell asleep in his stroller and we would figure out what to do from there.

Great installment, I really loved the pictures. I had no idea Fantasyland was that dead at rope drop. I love that picture of Liam crying. When he gets bigger you can show it to all of his girlfriends :rotfl:.

Thanks for showing us the hidden mickey :thumbsup2. I hope your day got better after he took a nap.

Oh, Heidi.

I'm so glad he enjoyed Pooh's Playful Spot. I am hoping that this less than magical morning is due to the fact that Liam got up super duper early instead of the face that he didn't like rides....

Oh, hon. You know what? Sometimes, you just never know how a kid will react to a ride. Case in point? DS had no issues with dark rides when he was little. Now that he's 3 going on 4 he'll tell us if something is "spooky" or "dark" or "scary" whereas before, it never phased him.

Again, don't beat yourself up, hindsight is always 20/20.

And I'll be writing about Pooh's Playful Spot in December TR very, very soon. It was a GODSEND. And I had a hard time getting my son to leave, too. :lmao:

It's funny how you commented about the vehicles on Main st. I was just thinking that I never see any of them when I'm there.

When DD was Liam's age I made mistake of her first ride at MK being Pirates because it was the only thing open due to torrential rain - between the dark and the drop after the scary mist pirate I thought someone was surely going to give me a mom of the year award at the end of the ride... I suffered for it for the rest of the week so I feel your pain... (and think I used the darn left tunnel that time too!) :goodvibes

Poor Liam! and poor you. It's bad enough when our kids are unhappy...but when we think we're the cause of the unhappiness.:sad1:

Has anyone actually ridden any of the Main Street vehicles? We never have.
My DH and I actually rode on the old truck. It was pretty cool, especially for my DH who lives and breathes cars.
