Aaargh....I just tried to book my flight on miles and there were only 2 seats left on a direct flight to orlando, on 11-27. I need 3
Do you think if I call Southwest they will tell me what there fares were on that day?
Kills me every time I think I'm gonna get a "cheap" trip....Not so much

I was hoping they could tell me what they charged for 08.Southwest won't be able to tell you what their fares will be. They did not even release TG fares until the end of June. We flew SW last TG week and I could only get RR (miles) tickets on TG day when the schedule was initially released. A few months before TG, I was able to get RR seats the day after TG. That week, I was able to switch my RR seat until Saturday to stay and help my mother who broke her leg. DH and DS went home on Friday. I recall that as the flights were expensive when they were first released. As I continued to watch them a month out, there were a few flights that were down to $59 one way on TG day and I think the Friday after. TG is a good day to travel if you don't mind missing the holiday. Sat and Sun after TG are extremely heavy days to travel and virtually impossible to find an average fare. One of the many things I like about SW is if I cancel my RR ticket, it automatically gets credited back to my account with no penalty. With the other mile programs I belong to, I hate clicking that final button because I know that if I can't change it. Good Luck!
I can tell you that it was cheaper to fly on Friday than Saturday this year after T'day. I paid $74 one-way on Airtran ROC to MCO. JetBlue was the same price! I booked my flights in May, but the flights were available 24 hours before departure for those prices as well.
What airline were you trying to book with miles?
We used miles on United for our Oct trip and the availability kept changing from day to day so you might want to check for a couple of days before you give up.
I would think flying ON Tgiving would be cheapest. We did get good fares in 2007 though on the Friday, Sat-Mon were much higher.
