What do you dust with?

Im looking for the best stuff to dust with. I feel like I dust every day and its still caked on there (especially in the bedroom from where we run our fan at night). Anyone have any recommendations, or tell me- what do you use that you found works best?

I've tried just about everything and nothing seems to work. I do believe it's my house though, as where we used to live I could dust once a month and still not see anything on the rag. Sure does make you want to get rid of all the nick nacks LOL

We just built this house and moved in (february). My house is very spacious (4,000sq ft) and I dont keep it cluttered at all. Im a very organizationally clean person... but it is like caked on the dresser when I wake up in the morning. I can't stand it! I have to find something!

I use swiffer sheets and clean old socks and tee shirts that will get thrown out.

Maybe invest in better filters for your ac/heat system or a separate air filter?

I just use orange Pledge, since I can also use it on my stainless steel. I have a sock that I use just for dusting, just put it on my hand (or one of my ds's if they are in the mood) and I can really get into all the nooks of some of my wood furniture. In our old house we had a heat pump and I swear I never ever had to dust. Since moving into our new home last year all I do is dust!

One time I got a little sample bottle of Pledge all surface cleaner, I think that was the name. You sprayed it onto a little Swiffer like duster thing and that worked pretty well too. The boys loved using those to dust with, although not too much dusting got done as they soon took off the duster thing and used the handles as lightsabers.

Aha - you have a new house... My bet is that you need to have your ducts cleaned. We had the same problem when we built our house... I was stunned thinking "BUT THIS IS A NEW HOUSE!!".. Well, all that construction dust was lingering in the ducts... Think about the mess of drywall alone... My bet is a duct cleaning will solve the bulk of your problems. The other thing we do is use a high end air filter and change every 6 weeks - even though they say they last months... If that doesn't work and you're planning to stay in the house then I'd recommend a whole house air filtration system. We wanted to do that in our last house, but knew we wouldn't be staying. We have allergies - would be SO helpful...

Oh as for dusting... I use the Pledge disposable dusters... I don't use the spray - whole chemical thing. I find in this house we really don't have a dust problem...

Hope this helps! :)
