Looking for some dips for Christmas to put in a bread bowl. Not the usual Spinach dip if possible. We will be traveling to my sister in laws which is about 1 1/2 hours away so needs to travel well.

Thanks so much!!!!

There's a Kraft recipe for roasted red pepper and onion dip that is out of sight and actually looks festive with the red peppers and green onions. I'm not sure if I can post a link to their website but do a recipe search on their site. It's super easy and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.

This is our FAVE dip and I know it sounds not that great, but you have to trust me and TRY it!

1 block of cream cheese
1 can of crab meat (drained)

Soften the cream cheese in the microwave, stir the crab meat in. Warm it up in the microwave. Sometimes it can come out too thick and I just add a bit of coffee cream or milk (not much!).
This is AMAZING with bugles as well.

Again, I know it sounds plain and stuff, but even my extremely picky 12 yr old begs me to make it for her.
I bring it to parties all the time and get begged for the 'recipe'. When I tell them what is in it they look shocked!

Beau Monde Dip

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 teaspoon Beau Monde ™ seasoning
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon dried parsley

I never use the minced onion as my family doesn't like raw onion. We love this dip and serve it with the Hawaiian bread.

I do this also but put it on a plate in a round shape and scoop out the middle and put cocktail sauce in it. Just spices things up a bit - since it is not added to the dip people can scoop some with the sauce or some without.

Everyone loves it.

2-8oz Wispride Cheddar Cheese in the cup
1-8oz brick of Cream Cheese
1-1/4 tsp prepared garlic
Beer (enough to make creamy)

Combine ingredients in a food processor until smooth and creamy.

we make this all the time!
blt dip
1 pound bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 tomato - peeled, seeded and diced

Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels.
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream. Crumble bacon into the sour cream and mayonnaise mixture. Mix in tomatoes just before serving

The sour cream with dry ranch dressing packet is really always a good standby.

I have an awesome and easy spinach/artichoke dip (I know you said no spinach...but this doesn't taste the same as the ole' standby)!! You dip crackers and tortilla chips instead. Better than the resturants........;)

1/2 C. Sour Cream
1/2 C. Mayo
1-2 Tablespoons of Dill Weed (to your taste, I prefer a little more dill flavor)
1/2 tsp garlic salt or powder (whichever you prefer)

Mix all into a bowl and serve with chips/crackers/etc.

I haven't made this or tried it, but I'm giving the recipe to a coworker as part of a Christmas gift. I thought it sounded yummy.

Bread Bowl Fondue

1 round loaf unsliced bread
8 oz Velveeta, cubed
16 oz sour cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup fully cooked ham, diced
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1-4 oz can chopped green chilies
2 Tbs vegetable oil
1 Tbs butter, melted

Cut the top 1/4th off the loaf of bread, set aside. Hollow out bottom, leave 1/2-inch shell. Cube remaining bread, In large bowl; combine Velveeta, sour cream and cream cheese, Stir in ham, onions, chilies, and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon into bread, replace top. Wrap tightly in foil. Place on baking sheet; Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes. Toss bread cubes with oil and butter. Place on baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, stir occasionally. Unwrap loaf, stir filling. Serve with vegetables and toasted bread cubes.

This is not a recipe, but I just had the artichoke/jalapeno dip that's sold at Costco and it is delicious! Everyone loved it and the huge container was gone in an hour! I used sourdough bread cut into cubes to dip. I will buy it again for sure!

The ham, green chile thing is yummy. My friend makes it often.

I like the old stand by ranch, but I saw someone add shredded cheddar and real bacon bits once and it was very yummy too. This might be something kids would eat too.

I would like this one even if the OP doesn't. I'm already making anopther word doc for these :dance3:

I often do the Knorr dry veggie packet with low fat sourcream. I almost always get completments.

I have looked all over for Beau Monde seasoning,:scared1: but can never find it! :confused3 :headache:

This is more of a spread than a dip, but it's awesome!

2 8oz packages of cream cheese (low fat works fine)
1 single packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 cup finely shredded cheese (monterey jack if you want the ball to be mostly white, sharp cheddar if you don't mind color)
1/2 cup crumbled bacon (optional)

Mix together all igredients until thoroughly combined. Chill. Serve with sturdy crackers (Wheat Thins are great) or bread.

*NOTE*You must, must, must make this at least one day in advance to combine and mellow all of the flavors.

I have to agree with the artichoke/jalapeno dip. That stuff is like crack! I have a friend who makes her own and it's even better than the store bought, if that's even possible. I also like my Mom's old stand-by, sour cream and onion soup mix.
