Disney with two broken arms - (Final Day 1/23)

Aw, you have just the luck with getting re-injured! You deserve a big hug!

I can't believe the bus stop thing at BB! The CM that was rude should've handled it better! Sometimes while we are waiting at bus stops, we happen to see four or five buses in like 2 minutes for the same place! But, of course it's never for OUR place.

I've always wondered what it'd be like to go on a solo-outing. Did you get lonely seeing everyone else with their families and stuff?

Just caught up on your trip report, you have a beautiful family and it looks like you had a wonderful time! I love your style of TRing, it makes me feel like I'm in WDW as I sit in my living room!

I think we will skip the water parks on our December trip (brrrr!) but you have me adding Typhoon Lagoon to our May itinerary!:thumbsup2

Epcot is beautiful at night and I'm glad you finally got to see IllumiNations!:dance3:

OUCH!!!!!!! I can't believe how many ouchy occurances you had with your poor arms!! I need to ask, how are they today? I've kept meaning to ask you lately but forget through the excitement of your posts. I hope you're mending quickly these days!!! :goodvibes

What a great outing though, I got chills watching Illuminations, I haven't seen it myself, but have plans to in a few weeks now. They look wonderful!!

Did you end up getting anything at the gift shop you got to tour yourself? Can't wait for the next update!!

I'm so happy you are continuing your report, I have enjoyed it so much!:yay:

I am so sorry you kept re-hurting your poor arm.

Oh my gosh girl! You really were out on a mission to have another cast! Next time you'll have to get a wheelchair! I'm glad that the medicine took the pain away. Be careful!!!
I loved that you stayed at the water park until closing and that you were able to enjoy the park with little people around. (not "little" people, but you know)
Congrats on getting out on your own. That never happens for me when I go with the famdamnly. Hopefully in June DH and I can go to dinner one night without the kiddos. They're all old enough now to be by themselves for a couple of hours.

Looks like the globe was back for Illuminations. I really missed that part of the show when we were there end of August.
Hope you didn't reinjure yourself too bad. Isn't that always how it goes-we fall back on the same parts already hurt.

Ouch, I hope you are OK. You had been doing so well it seemed through out the trip. Can't wait to hear more(although I did cringe a few times with sympathy pains in this last update).

Cannibalism!!

You know, I really didn't get lonely. I may have had it been the beginning of our trip but by then it was a nice break. Can't wait to experience it w/ the family next time though.

May seems like the perfect time for TL. You lucky duck, Dec. and May!:goodvibes

Both arms are sooo much better. I still wear a splint on left wrist occasionally.

Only a few weeks to go!

I didn't get anything in the shops but I did find a shirt that would be good for my father in law that we ended up purchasing the following day at MK.

Glad that you are continuing to read. It definitely has taken longer and much more time than I anticipated.

Yes I'd heard the ball was gone and wasn't sure if it'd be there during our trip. Course I wouldn't know what I was missing anyway since I'd never seen it before.

Sorry I made you cringe. I actually think that was the last of my arm abuse on the trip.

You poor thing. I hate that you hurt yourself but I'm happy to hear you had a good time at Epcot. I think I'm more excited about alone time with Sidney than the trip itself. :lmao: We haven't been to WDW alone in 10+ years!

Oh, your poor arms! How awful that no one offered you a seat on the bus - that is just so bad!!!

Glad you got to see Illuminations. And a little "me" time would have been nice after 9 days too!;)

Can't wait to hear about CRT!

I loooove ME time! I'm so glad you got to Epcot to see the show. Having some alone time in Disney is just magical! :)

I still can't believe you will be going back to Disney 3 more times before I get back there. I need to refer all my friends and family who think I'm a Disney fanatic to you.:lmao: I'm sure it will be great fun for you and DH to go alone. You can do all the rides together that you missed because of the kiddos and have nice calm dinners.:lovestruc

I had several times where I struggled to hold on while standing at the bus. However I think most people just looked at me perplexed that I was holding on w/ the casted arm not knowing the other one was broken too.

I'm so glad I got to go too! That show mocked me for our entire trip.

We left off after my solo outing to Illuminations. DH and the girls enjoyed the Disney channel and an early evening to bed. When I got back at 9:40 everyone was fast asleep. I was glad everyone was getting rested because we had 9 a.m. ADRs for Cinderella’s Royal Table and we also were going to MNSSHP in the evening.

Everyone arose in good spirits for our last full day in the World. DD4 chose to go to breakfast in her Cinderella dress and DD7 would of course be going in her Hannah Montana dress. We had very high expectations for dining in the castle. I had booked these ADRs Easter morning before we were even sure we’d be going. We booked our trip around this ADR. (And of course free dining.)

We had done BBB last year so chose not to do it this year. We did bring the face gems, nail polish, and make up that they received last year. Somehow it had remained untouched. Don’t ask me how. It’s a mystery. :confused3 DD4’s tierra is even the one she received at BBB last year. You’ll notice DD7 has the Mickey barrette in her hair from BBB. The girls felt almost as special as leaving BBB as we headed out the door.princess: princess:

I was looking forward to walking down Main Street before the park was open. It did not disappoint. I love how there are even photo pass people available for the early ADR guests.

The photog took a tone of pictures. Here’s just a couple.

No, it wasn’t quite MNSSHP but since we did attend this day and because Main Street is decorated, and the girls are dressed up I did use some of the borders in these pictures.

So we were about 15 minutes early so we took our time strolling down an empty Main Street.

As we passed the bridge to Fronteirland DD7 finally got her wish. She got to actually see and touch “THE ROPE”. The whole trip we kept talking about “rope drop” but up until now she’d never actually seen the rope.

Here are people waiting under the castle against the rope and we make our way to check in.
DisneyWorld2008099.jpg

Let me take a short moment before I continue w/ my report on CRT to make a quick disclaimer. I do not want my comments on CRT to discourage anyone who has not dined in the castle. We are certainly glad we did it. It will always be a good memory that we got to dine in Cinderella’s Castle. I’m not sure if we’ll ever do it again. Certainly no time soon. But I encourage everyone to try it at least once for memory sake.

We checked in at the desk outside the doors and were ushered into what appeared to be mayhem. I think one of the biggest problems is that this area was not originally designed for the crowds ushered in and out of this space. Cinderella was standing in the middle of the room and families were being called by name to line up and take a picture with Cinderella while everyone else stood or sat on the edges. Cmembers kept calling out for the families to stand single file in line so more families could fit.

I took a few pictures of the inner wall detail while we waited. It really is beautiful.

DisneyWorld2008102.jpg

As we sat down and waited to be called DD7 leaned over and whispered that she had thought it was just us dining with Cinderella. I had talked about this breakfast for so long and with such expectation and hadn’t realized DD7 thought it would be just our private family eating with Cinderella in the Castle. My heart sank a little. :sad2: I smiled and explained that it was just like other character meals we’ve had. How precious the poor thing. She didn’t seem too disappointed, just not what she had expected.

So the time came and it was our families turn to do the military line up for Cinderella. Here is a picture that we took of the girls.
DisneyWorld2008101.jpg

We did get the package with us all in the photo. After the photo we were given and buzzer and had to wait some more before we could ascend the Royal Staircase.

When our buzzer went off I was excited. I was hoping that the mayhem was limited to the entrance and that all things magical waited for us up the stairs. Here is a video of us ascending the Royal Staircase. You will see how unRoyal (okay I know that’s not a word) it was.

Disney really needs to hire me as the manager of this restaurant. I could turn it into the 2 TS dining experience it is meant to be. The first thing I would do is have someone handle the traffic on the stairs so that people are not ascending and decending at the same time. I will say though that the girls didn’t seem to be phased by this at all.

We did like where we were seated. We were seating very close to the windows so we could see the Carousel through the window. The table was decorated nicely with cute folded napkins.

Awww, the girls both look happy.:cloud9:

Our waitress added to my slight frustration by being probably the least friendly wait staffer of our entire trip. She wasn’t terribly rude, just uninterested in us. The only thing she did (which you could tell was required) was to address DH as prince and the girls as princesses. However she never made eye contact or engaged anyone in conversation.

When the princesses arrived we realized that we had already met them all. I hadn’t realized how many princesses would be at Akershus. The only one that was not at Akershus was Snow White and we had met her in the World Showcase earlier that week. A neat thing however is that it was the exact same Snow White. Snow White was DD4’s new favorite this trip so she was glad to see her again.

The girls wanted Belle to sign again because she was in her blue dress this time.

After a while it was time for the kids to make their wishes. :wizard: It was hard to hear the voice coming over the speaker. Both girls really concentrated on their wishes. I did not find out until recently what their wishes were. DD7 would not tell me until it came true. She wished for a Hannah Montana microphone. (She received it from her Aunt for her birthday. It was only $15.) DD4 wished for a purple car. :lmao: I guess we know who is going to have a more expensive taste.:rotfl2:

Here is DD7 holding the star and making her Wish.

I do have this short video clip that does show a bit of Disney Magic.

DD7 loves this picture of herself. She is definitely not camera shy.

While the experience wasn’t quite Royal the girls did enjoy themselves and overall that’s what really matters to me.
DisneyWorld2008112.jpg

The food? . . . I’m always reminded by readers that I forget to mention the food. From what I can remember it was very average. There was an assortment of pastries in a basket in the middle of the table. Much more than the four of us could ever eat. We weren’t given much hot food. Eggs, bacon. I’m sure there was more but really it was not much. DH did notice some men getting seconds. It wasn’t the lack of food so much as the lack of variety. The girls really wanted to meet the Fairy God Mother. Had I known that we would have seen all the princesses already I would have tried to book dinner so they could see her. We were told we had an open invitation all day to come back and see her during dinner time but we never did. (Dinner has Fairy God Mother and two mice). Well if we ever do try it again, perhaps we will try dinner.

On our Royal descent DH went ahead of us down the stairs to take this picture. Too bad the lighting didn’t turn out well.

Up Next:hourglass: MK attractions we've NEVER yet experienced!

Well, we have two trips for sure. December and August. Others are just in discussion right now. ;) I love these pictures. The girls are so cute dressed up! I totally agree with you 110%! CRT is not what it should be. We've been twice and both times were mediocre. So so food, usually lukewarm...servers who could care less (because they know that tip is included) so they rush you like crazy. I do love the atmosphere of the castle but everything else...BLAH!

Your girls look especially adorable in this update. I can't believe the staircase isn't better organized for diners to get to and from their meal:scared1:

I haven't been to CRT since the mid 70's (though it may have been Oct. 1980 - :confused3 ). I don't remember much about it except that it was dark and the kid's drink was something purple that wasn't grape juice - it was nasty. I believe it was called something else back then instead of CRT. I don't remember meeting any characters though.

While I'd like to go again, none of the menus do anything for me and I don't have kids. I glad your kids had a good time though.
