Photopass poses - The cheesier the better!

If you're ever on the Triton carousel and you see a photopass person, grab them! His pics (while we were moving!) were much better than the ones hubby took before he saw the photog. And look at that little red-haired girl, she's so cute. I wanted E to meet her, to grow up knowing her, to marry her and have lots of little "recessively gened" kids (the tall, deep-voiced pirate guy called E "my recessively gened lad", LOL). :)

ry%3D400

And then, just b/c I could, I cropped out hubby from the TOT picture to get a nice shot of the top of the hotel. Now why does the resolution on that crop look better than the rest of my uncropped pix?

ry%3D400

In December we went through Mickey's House, not knowing that when it's not pouring rain outside (as it was in September when we did MTTMM and the characters were spread throughout the house in the hallways instead of outside) that Mickey hung out taking photos after the movie room, and got a cute series. This border is one of the options that showed up while editing...

ry%3D400

During the Santa photos, E was NOT enthused. He'd already met Santa, but the photog's camera wasn't working. While we waited for Santa to come back from his break (we'd been the last pre-break) E was playing and fell, and was complaining about his fall. He was NOT into talking about anything else, and Santa got more and more desperate, LOL. For some reason this is the only shot I put the special border that showed up for this pictures.

ry%3D400

And now the Belle pictures. :) This was E's first princess (he wanted to see them, and willingly waited about an HOUR in the line at the Princess Fantasy Fair while hubby and I desperately wished we didn't have such a rounded-interest kid). She wanted him to sit next to her, so he did, but sat waaaaay far away on the floor. She urged him to sit on her gown, right next to her, and he was extremely hesitant to do so. She practically told me to butt out, in a nice princessy way, when I was trying to think about the long line behind us and hurry him up (most parent surge their children to spend scads of time with the characters, but I was doing the opposite and she didn't like it!), and finally got him to sit there. He was NOT enthused.

With an xmas border that I felt was very fitting, given her gown.

ry%3D400

And then he got bored. When I saw this, the book had just come out that's sort of the new version of The Rules but written by a man, and I called it the "Sorry Belle, He's Just Not That Into You" picture.

ry%3D400

But then he met Pocahontas (who he thought was Sacajawea b/c we'd been watching Night at the Museum repeatedly before the visit...he only just watched Pocahontas last week!) and he looooooved her. Pic with her to show another little doodad border they had last year (I must assume they have things like that each year).

ry%3D400

And then he saw his fave, Princess Minnie. He was warmed up to the idea of the princesses by then, and he really does love Mickey and Minnie (sometimes I'm just not sure he's mine, as I HATED the characters as a kid!!!! hated!). So a couple of borders for princess Minnie:

Now THIS is cheesy!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly, when was that trip where the price at the parks was so much different than online?

If you're talking DLR, read on. :)

It was likely last year, or at the very beginning of this year, yes? Since January they have been changing their prices and messing with the value of the whole thing, and it's all totally different at DLR than it was last year.

Last year there was the unenhanced CD you got at the parks for cheapie, and then there was the more expensive, enhance-able CD you could get online. Then they started moving the prices around, and I found that the price online and at the parks was the same, but they bumped up the relative value of the one at the parks by throwing in a few 5x7s (which could be enhanced, unlike the other pix on your CD). So now it's all at the 59 price point, but the one at the parks still has a couple photo prints.

When I ordered my CD last December online I still could have ordered things from online. And I'm certain you could order any cards while in the park and still order the CD online when you get home. They want you to buy buy buy, and the pix don't expire when you get the CD, they expire with time. And actually if you ordered cards online, it would then extend the time you have to enhance pix for the CD, which could then be ordered a little later.

Of course now that I've said all that, the photopass gods will hear and will change things around again. That's what they did when I was all Definitive-Girl about photopass last December and early January! Messed me up and the Dis didn't have the "find all posts by username" then so I couldn't go find all of my posts where I gave old information (definitively) so it messed up other people, too! :headache:

Yes it was last year. I think it was last Christmas if I remember correctly. Glad to hear that they changed it. I will be interested to see how it is in Florida when I go next week. I would RATHER buy the CD cuz with all the christmas stuff I KNOW it would be better to just buy the CD but I guess I will find out when I go. ;)

Thanks for the info! I guess I will know for sure when I get there. :)

Kelly, have you checked out stitchkingdom.com and the photopass info there? It's the Dis's bradk's site, and it's very WDW focused.

The one thing that's been a question is if WDW even has the unenhanced, buy at the park, CD. But with WDW you do want to do the pre-purchase of the CD, if you're going to get the editable one. Though from the experience of others, you do not, actually, have to PRE purchase it...just maybe buy it before you enter numbers onto your account. :)

I'm not going to give you the link to pre-purchase it for WDW, because I don't want to possibly confuse matters for DLR, but it's all over the Theme Park and Budget forums. And it's on stitchkingdom, I do believe.

These aren't cheesy, but I like 'em b/c it shows what you can do with photopass. Forgive me if I stray from the intent, but the more photopass pix the better, right?

There's some rumor or information that Jack Sparrow won't be around much longer, but just in case that's an awful awful and wrong rumor, this is what happened automatically when a photopass photog took a Jack picture. You can't take the borders off, which is aggravating, though it is a very cool border. Just not on 30+ pictures (our photogs snapped a million shots of E with Jack, but most of them have ME in them in the background, not realizing I was in the pix, and I look MOST icky! must get photoshop to paint myself out of them!)...

ry%3D400

There will be more....

lol, I must say, Eeyore looks an awful lot like Tigger in that last edit... :rolleyes1

Oh goodness gracious, where was my brain? Thank you so much, and that's a funny way of letting me know. :rotfl: I love it when people can correct gently! It SHOULD be fixed. Though maybe I changed all the pictures to pictures of Oregon or West Virginia or something like that...even though my WV pictures are all film pictures not online, given the errors I've made in this thread today, I wouldn't be surprised!

I have no clue how large these pictures are going to show up here. It seems whenever I think a photo is going to be large, it ends up being small, and vice versa! In any case, here is one:

The Queen of Hearts grabbed my hair with her (his) left hand and was stroking it diabolically with the right, which startled me, in an 'Off with her head!' kind of way! I am in the Mickey t-shirt and that is my friend Shawn in the peachy-orange shirt:
image041.jpg

And one of our 'Stitch is rising from the ground' photos (you can see I really get into playing my role - I look like I am so perplexed as to what this creature could be!):
image030.jpg

And a stop at our favorite Pumpkin:
image048.jpg

At the Trick or Treat Party:
image068.jpg

And another one (that is my friend Jackie in the center):
image108.jpg

I seem to be having trouble with either my Internet or the Photobucket site, so I will stop for now! I was on a roll!

Oh my gosh, when were you there?? These look recent, was just curious, I believe that picture of you with the Queen is awesome, the character on the right, I can't think of his name, I think is rare, when and where did you see them??? I am flipping out, hope they are out next year at Halloween. Thanks.:goodvibes

Oh, I almost didn't check this thread again tonight! I am glad I did - I didn't know there was a question for me!:cool1:

Okay, let's see - we were there from Oct. 2 - 5 this year - you are correct, it is recent - but we only had the PhotoPass pictures taken on the 3rd and 4th.

I must admit - the Queen was the only one whose name I knew offhand! I couldn't remember the names of the other guys either! Isn't that awful? I have seen the animated movies, goodness knows, but I blanked out on the names! (In my case, it is just age that is the excuse!) I was excited to see the Queen and so I jumped in the line for pictures! We saw them - and also the villain from Hunchback, who I have in another photo - in DCA, over in the Hollywood area. We were told to go there by a PhotoPass photographer over in the Grizzly Peak area. She said that many of the "evil people" would be making special appearances in the Hollywood area for the Halloween season only! Sully was also out, but by the time we saw him to get in line for pictures, he had to go inside to cool off, as it was a warm day! And the picture with Woody was taken in DCA at the TOTP on the night of the 3rd.

Thanks for the nice compliment! I am glad you like the pictures!:goodvibes I just wish I could remember the name of those characters in DCA who I took pictures with - usually, if I see a character, I just jump on in, whoever it is!!!

Here is another dose of cheesy good, rollickin' fun for this evening:
image038.jpg

And here is one of those attractive shots that we women LOVE to have of ourselves - where our eyes are almost closed in a photo, at the end of a nice, long day! Eeesh... Well, even though I am half asleep in the picture, the background is pretty!:
image065.jpg

Oh Sherry! The other 2 villains in your picture are: the guy in the middle is from Pocahontas. His name is Governor Ratcliffe. He is really ugly.

The guy on the right is from the Disney Channel show Tale Spin and his name is Don Karnage. The show came out when I was a kid and it was a spin off of the Jungle Book. I think it's super strange they brought him out during Halloween. It was a popular show, but it came out such a long time ago (1990) I'm sure a lot of people in the park didn't know who he was. I had to think about which Disney Channel show he was from.

Thank you both for answering my questions. Don Karnage, that is right, thank you. I think he is pretty rare. I so wish I would have checked out more of CA that night, but I was so tired from the flight out. Does anyone know if that is something they will continue for the next few years?? That would be so awesome, it really looks like they had a good many characters out. We even walked back by the Hollywood way and didn't see any, maybe it was just too early in the evening. Does anyone think they will continue this?? Hoping for the best. I wonder what the park will look like next year for Halloween. Also I love your picture with Woody and the green army men by Toy Story Mania, very awesome!!! Hoping for that much luck next year at Halloween.:goodvibes

Thank you, Courtney! Oh, goodness! Ratcliffe! I was trying to think of his name while I was at DLR and could not remember it! When I see Meeko out somewhere, I know Meeko is from Pocahantas, and I thought Ratcliffe was from that movie but his name totally escaped me! (Clearly I like the furry characters more than the human ones!) What is funny is that I could have easily just watched Pocahantas to get his name - or even look it up on the Internet if I was too impatient to watch the movie - but I didn't! So thank you for solving that mystery for me!:goodvibes

I guess some of the Disney villains are instantly recognizable and memorable to everybody, and everyone pretty much knows their names - like, say, Cruella, Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts and Maleficent, and probably even Ursula and Jafar. Other villains you sort of look at and go..."Well, I know he/she is a villain, but I can't recall the name..."

As for Don Karnage, I was not sure where he was from, and I am pretty sure that my friend thought he was someone else!!:rotfl: I think she may have been confusing him with another wolf/fox - type character in Disney movies (back in the '90s, we used to see the Big Bad Wolf here and there around DLR), and didn't realize that he was from the Jungle Book spin off on Tale Spin! You are right - not many people would know who he was, and IF they did, they probably mistook him for another Disney character, like my friend did!

When you reminded me of Tale Spin and Don Karnage, I was looking at some of my DLR pictures from the '90s to see if he was in any of them. I didn't see him, but it is interesting to see the characters who were around back then and are not around now. In the early to mid-'90s, you would see Roger Rabbit out every day. A lot of the Tale Spin characters were out. The Three Little Pigs/Bid Bad Wolf were out. Jafar was always out. You rarely see any of those characters now, and sometimes, some of the ones you DO see are so perplexing, you think, "Why did they drag HIM/HER out of the vault and put him on Main Street?" And yet, characters who, I think, are extremely popular, i.e., Jack Sparrow, are being yanked from the park!!! :headache:

I assume they will continue to do up the Halloween decorations in both parks over the years, since that is turning out to be very popular, and I think they will keep doing the TOTP. I would also imagine they would continue to bring out different, rare villains for the Halloween season. I think it is a cool idea, and then it is also fun to kind of mix and match them, so you are not only getting the Queen of Hearts in a photo but Don Karnage too (???:confused3 )!!!! If the one PhotoPass photographer had not directed us to the Hollywood area to see the "evil people," during the daytime, we may not have found them. My friend was bored with that area and didn't want to go back that way at first. And at night, there were many more villains out for the TOTP, of course, but then there were lines and lines of people waiting for them, so we didn't get all the photos we would have wanted. We waited in a long line for Jack Sparrow (I am glad we did now!) and then we hopped into the line to get a picture of Jessie from Toy Story with the Green Army Men. I was not that thrilled with her, but I wanted something with someone from a Toy Story movie - or even just a Pixar film, at that point (since we had just missed Sully earlier in the day)! So, as we stood in the line for her picture, Woody came out and Jessie left! The CM who was coordinating the whole thing had to make an announcement to everybody that "Woody will now be joining us for pictures," in case any diehard Jessie fans wanted to get out of the line, I suppose! However, everyone was much happier to have Woody, I think, and we cheered! So that was a happy accident!

I think a really great photo would be to have Woody and Buzz together. I bet they did that in the old days, when Toy Story had first come out, but now Woody's and Buzz's heads are too big (Woody's is, literally and figuratively!!!:rotfl: ) to be in the same picture together! :lmao:

Here are some of my personal PhotoPass pics...some cheesy as per the initial request.. from recent DLR/WDW trips:

I love those, Tofubeast!!! You guys are a lot of fun! I love the one with your husband and Darth Vader. I would love to get one of those for myself (even if I have to battle Darth), but I hear they are very hard to come by! Also, I love the one of you guys looking scared (or scary) with the Matterhorn in the background. Everywhere we were told to "look scared" or "look scary" was in DCA, I think, or with the Castle in the background. We never saw any PP photographers anywhere near the Matterhorn, and it would be nice to have a change of background scenery. I am hoping I have better luck with more inventive backgrounds in December!!! We were told that some PP people were over at Woody's Halloween Round-Up in DL, but we never saw any!

I can tell you that some of those pics were taken mid-day or so. We had a touring plan that allowed for us to have "free time" in the middle of the day. We just stopped to smell the roses and kept finding PP photogs. Just keep your eyes open!! :thumbsup2

Great pix and I totally agree-if there's a PP there, have them take alot of pix. I did last year and this is one of my favs. :cloud9: Oh, and I just noticed, it's the same animal, small world huh?:goodvibes

1905DanielleoncarouselsealTINK6x4.jpg

Sad thing was this year even though we went to DLR around 10x's from Sept. to early Nov. I never did see a PP photog at the carousel. And I looked! I did see the photog who took the pix last year in the hub of DL this year and she took some great shots of us at the statue and around the hub. I mentioned to her that she had taken some great shots of DD at the carousel last year. She said she remembered DD, but I think they always say that. :rotfl2:

Just a few more days and I should have my PP from this year. :thumbsup2

Darth was hard to come by, after many trips to DL without seeing him (sort of) I finally asked at Photo Services. They were very accomodating and told me when I could get the shot, and where, but if I came at a certain time and no one was there, the CM I spoke to would be there and take some for us. We were, and she did. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We ran into a photog once at Woodys. She took some interior shots (us playing poker, with the madame, etc.) and then offered to take more of DD outside. There wasn't anyone else around. So she took come great outside shots with the pumpkins, etc. Unfortunately her flash didn't seem to be working right and the inside shots are a little dark but I think I can correct them with Photoshop.

Last year one of the photogs at the hub took DD and I over to the right side and took some pix of us with Matterhorn in the background. This year there was a wall up for Pixie Hollow so they didn't take any that direction. However, I did finally run across one of the PP guys I recognized in front of the castle and asked if he could take some pix over on the right side and in front of Snow's grotto. He did, and they came out nice.

Sorry, you'll just have to wait until I get my CDs. popcorn::

Okay, I couldn't resist-here are a few more from last year. 2008 to follow soon

1901DCADanielleEars20077x5_1901.jpg

This year they didn't want to take this shot. I did take one with my own camera and I can add in some of the enhancements once I get my CD.

10554ofusCharliesAngels20075x7editt.jpg

This one's from MGM (now DHS) at WDW but you could still do it at DCA. See, we're Charlie's Angels. :rotfl2:

Another at WDW-AK but this was definitely cheesy!

DanielleandDarth.jpg

This is DD fighting Darth in May at DL the 2nd day they did the shot. (not on CD but I scanned the pix) Now they've relocated the shot to the entrance to TL.
