We are heading to Florida this coming weekend

Planning on visiting US/IOA for the first time (although, we were at US in 1996 - it will be first visit to IOA, and lots of new stuff at US) just wondering if we are there when the park opens how long before the lines get bad?

We have never been to Florida in October, so any insight is helpful.

TIA

We arrived yesterday and today about 8:30. It took us until 9ish to get into the park yesterday. We were in a line where the finger scan just was not working for anybody. It moved VERY slow.

Today we arrived at about the same time, but were waiting at the front of one of the lines when they started letting people in. I guess the holiday yesterday made it busier.

We got hot and hungry both days and left about 1ish, but the lines were still very manageable when we exited the parks. We have annual passes, so just bypassed any lines.

The best news is that DS9 got to ride Spiderman twice yesterday first thing with only a 5 min wait.

We had to work around staggered openings at Universal this morning. Jaws didn't open until 11A for example. Disaster at 10.

That's the one thing I wish Universal would do away with! When they use the hand helds everything scans just fine but the big scanners just don't work! :furious:

We only stayed until 11 today, but most everything still had very short lines when we left. DS rode Dueling Dragons six times in a row in way less than an hour.

Can you ride the Mummy just once for me? :goodvibes

Not me. No sir. I'm not a rider. I'll send the kids. They only rode it once so far.

Today the crowds picked up more quickly. Walking towards Islands of Adventures at 8:30, it was obvious there would be more people. Three or four big groups that appeared to be from South America and other smaller groups.

By 9:30 or so, Spiderman was up to a 20 minute wait. We went to the other park and found the Simpsons already at 45 minutes. DSs 9 and 14 walked right on MIB, though.

The rest of us decided to hang out at the resort after lunch, but DS14 went back to fight the lines. Not sure if he'll do much, but at least he's not here complaining.
