I got this in my recent passholder email. I was wondering if any of the experts know if these tickets expire or are dated? Since if appears you can buy them by phone, it's obvious that they aren't limited to a certain day (like when you buy them at the gate to be used that day). I was thinking of getting a few for a couple of trips for next year when we have extra family members with us. A 2 day ticket would be perfect for them. I had thought of getting them a powerpass, but there's no guarantee I'll get them back there within 12 months.

If I remember correctly from years past, the 50% tickets are dated...you can not save them for a later date. I'm not sure how they are doing it this year since you can buy them by phone. But I wouldn't count on buying tickets and holding them indefinately.

I will ask them about this tomorrow when I call to renew my AP, I'll let you know what they say :-)

I ordered these the last time they were 50% off and there is no expiration date on the ticket. I also asked the service rep about an expiration date, and he said there was not one. So unless they have changed within a couple of weeks, these tickets do not expire.

So it may be possible to buy these tickets and hold them to use in 2009??? I'll call, but with company here for the weekend, I'll have to wait until I have more time....maybe when I get to work on Monday!

in addition to not knowing if they have a use-by date:confused:

anybody know if they are upgradeable @ the gatepopcorn::

assume the AP holder must show ID when they r redeemed for their "friends & family" too:confused3

Not sure about upgrading them at the gate. But what would you want to upgrade them to? I would imagine you would still only get credited the amount you paid for the ticket since its barcoded. I cant see how you would come out ahead on trading these in for any other ticket.

We are going the last week of October, so if you want to hold off on buying these tickets I can ask my friend to enter the park with this ticket ahead of me and report back if they ask to see my AP or not.

I just got off the phone with Universal and they told me the 50% off tickets DO NOT expire and they can be purchased by phone or at the gate.

I was planning on buying an annual pass for our upcoming trip. If I purchase online, then call, can I order the 50% off tics? Or do I need to actually come to the park to activate it to be eligible for this perk?

TIA!

Like the other specials involving annual passes, I would imagine you would have to activate it first...you can call to find out. :thumbsup2

Thank you for checking for us! That is good news. I guess I need to find out who in my family needs one.

do we have confirmation that the APholder must be @ gate when tix r redeemed?

Does anyone know if the 2-day tickets have to be consecutive days, or if the individual days can be used at any time?

This sounds like a great option and I'd like to pick up a few to have on hand for guests. But if I bought one, for example, for my mother, I know she'd only want to visit one day per trip and maybe save the second day until another visit (maybe a year later).

2-Day/2-Park Admission Ticket
Two (2) days admission to Universal Studios Florida AND Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park (both days must be used within seven [7] consecutive calendar days including first day of use).
